Yeah the pre order editions will disappear in 7 hours off the UK PSN (Midnight).

Feels like they are doing there best to not make me buy it at full price lol.

This little I have seen is making me itch for a good Star Wars game full of fast paced light saber combat. Hoping for great reviews and word of mouth.

Yeah I was reading through that topic earlier. Seems like my 970 is gonna have a bad time at 1440p. Battlefront 2 runs pretty close to locked 60 on my rig at mostly medium settings. But for this looks like I might have to bump down to below native res. Really need to do a full rebuild (2550k is long in the tooth too) but just can't justify it yet.

I think I'm the only person in the world that doesn't like Star Wars, but I respect Respawn, loved Kotor and this really looks like my kind of game. I will definitely wait for reviews and GAF impressions to decide.

Any opinions on whether I need to know all the Star Wars lore to enjoy this game or if I'm able to just pick it up and be able to follow the story.

Not to be that guy, but in 2019 playing at 1440p with a 970 is kinda improbable with big games, especially if you want nice details and 60 frame rock solid.

Yeah i mean i have a 980ti and will probably need to play at 1080p if i want to max it out at 60fps.

I bought the 2070super as a light 4k gpu, it's not even good enough for 1440p max details 60 frame rock solid on most demanding games lol...

Devs don't give a fuck about optimization on pc most of the times.

There is a 4K/30 and 1080p/60 mode on both the X1X and PS4 Pro.

Respawn Entertainment producer Paul Hatfield confirmed that on the Xbox One X and the PS4 Pro, the action-adventure title will have options for two modes- a “quality” mode, which will favour higher resolutions and a 30 FPS frame-rate, and a “performance” mode, which will make sacrifices in the resolution department, but will deliver a 60 FPS frame-rate. Pretty standard stuff.


What the exact resolution in both modes on both consoles will be isn’t something that Hatfield seems to have spoken about, but he did confirm that in performance mode, the game will be targeting 60 FPS at all times, even though the frame-rate might dip below that target every now and then.

From what I gathered from the trailers the game is set sometimes after Ep. 3 since Order 666 has been issued but before Rogue One since Saw Gerrera isn't an old guy. I don't think you need to be a SW nerd to enjoy the game and, even if you don't like SW, I'm pretty sure you have some notions of the universe (like you probably know what The Force is), so you should be fine. Having said that I don't have played the game yet so I can't be 100% sure.

No doubt. It's fine for Apex Legends more or less, but not ideal for the blockbusters. I only got the 1440 monitor because I got a great deal on it used. Was otherwise going to stick to 1080p until I upgraded my rig. Battlefront 2 does pretty well considering, but this could be a bit more demanding, we'll see.

I have Premier so I’ll be playing this game tonight (and of course I’m hoping the game will be good) - but I won’t be viewing this game through the tint of my rose coloured Star Wars goggles. LOL.

That said, my LG C9 is arriving today and I’ll be connecting it to my RTX 2080Ti, and this will be my first game on the new OLED - so maybe THAT will make me love the game more. LOL.

Supposed to be similar to Souls, from a good studio, from a good director, decent impressions so far. This thread is only on page 3 with people timidly excited.

Star Wars hasn't had a decent single player game since KOTOR that I know of. That was a long time ago.

Another game badly optimized for X1X....stutters pretty bad for no reason in performance mode(aka 1080p). And 7.1 sounds like RE2r....really doesn't seem to be dolby atmos....even in studio reference mode.Gfx is "ok" for a 2019 game....Gears 5 kinda spoiled me bad, where it's so smooth with all that details where this in barren stages where the framerate drops....shows that respawn is at noob level with this unreal engine for X. Thank god they allowed full customization for the control....so my SW:BFII skills don't degrade. I just find this extra "grab" button when platforming utterly nonsensical...guess it tried to be different to GoW/Uncharted..

Btw game needs to played very slowly and I've only died once at the very first stage with jedi master difficulty mode....spamming will get you killed very quickly if you're not in the easiest mode. So far what I've played, the reference to the SW lore has been very satisfying....hope it delivers more down the track. Overall what I played is a 7/10 from me....and I'm a SW fan. My Jedi sense is telling me this game will end up in bargain bin pretty fast...so if you can wait...then wait.

Well, lightsaber duels never get old if done right and this game has a few of these. The last one is the best.

battlefield and battlefront are strangely light for the fantastic graphics they have, they run very good on semi-potato pc

Its a Souls style game in the Star Wars universe, made by a good dev team. And you wonder why people are excited?. As for 'what would the game be without the SW name?' question, well there is another recent game that would of got universally panned if it wasnt for a certain reason. Thats just gaming.

no it's a common comment since the reveal trailer, some of the animations in this game are kinda rough.

days gone and fallen order for most poopi run in videogames title shot.

A lot of people are calling this a Souls-like game.

And yet I can’t count the number of times I saw people, earlier this year, admonishing others for having had the audacity to compare Sekiro with Dark Souls.

If I had to ‘prepare’ someone for a Souls game, and had the choice between setting them up with Sekiro, or this Star Wars game, I’d set them up with Sekiro, which is the true spiritual cousin to Dark Souls.

Really? I mean... it’s weird the way gamers think sometimes.
