Star Wars: Fallen Order |OT| I have a gooood feeling about this
It’s weird how some games receive positive hype while others receive negative.
For example, pre-release, Control received a ton of negative hype, many clearly wanting to see the game fail. With this game it’s the opposite - most seem to want this game to succeed. I’m even seeing some people writing GOTY when posting about this game.
What’s even weirder is that all this positive hype seems to have built up out of nowhere during the past week - I don’t recall very many people discussing this game with any sense of passion during the game’s development?

This game did get a LOT of positive preview coverage that gave a much better look at the game than we had seen before (which had just been E3, where it had a terrible showing).
People also really like Respawn. They have a pretty proven recent track record and people want them to succeed despite EA, where you look at something like Remedy with Control and given their last game was Quantum Break, they were getting less benefit of the doubt because of that.

Hmm, a bit cheaper than my amazon order and assuming they send out keys in times for preload, I'll get to play it earlier too.
Anybody order from CDkeys? Are they sending out Origin keys yet or are they waiting until tomorrow night or later?

I have a stack of long and complicated games to play right now. This will be the perfect palette cleanser for me. I need a well paced action game that's not going to slow me down with dense menus and dialogue.

After The Force Unleashed and getting overly excited about Starkiller, the vibe really burned me out. Then the whole thing went down with what was considered canon BS.
I have a lot of hope for this, which made me decide to get it. The God of War 3 kinda hope.

I've come around on it. It looks very decent and I plan on getting it used in a few months; this game just screams "I'll be $20 soon!"
Not a knock against it. It just definitely is that kind of game.

Reading the posts in here is starting to get me a little hyped and turning me around on this. I have not watched anything since E3, so the discussions in here from recent previews are making it sound really decent.
I am probably not not going to pick it up until after I finish Death Stranding, maybe sooner if I cave due to all the impressions.

Ended up switching my preorder to cdkeys since my 'physical' PC version was a couple bucks more expensive, and likely won't be delivered until close to 8pm tomorrow. Anyway, I paid on cdkeys via paypal without logging in. I was charged by PayPal, but received no order confirmation of any kind (or any other correspondence from cdkeys) via email. Is this normal if it's a preorder that isn't delivered immediately? Also, the site says preorder keys are delivered the day before release... which is today.

Ah, the good old days. I remember getting Riven on five CDs. They had a single DVD version, but my dad's computer didn't have a DVD drive.
I think it's been years since any "physical" EA game has come on discs. It's always just an Origin code in a case; figuring the same here.

There is hdr at least on pc but you have to activate hdr in windows first, on reeee a guy said that hdr in this game is "typical" , i don't clearly understand what that means, probably not as remarkable as other titles like gears 5 or death stranding.

I got my key emailed finally about an hour ago. I'm at work so I activated it on my account, but I can't start the preload until I get home. Should be ready in time for midnight though. Looks like it does NOT include the preorder bonuses; I think somebody asked about that upthread.
The embargo is up in 12 hours.
