I've always wondered if people here actually have watched it. Yeah I heard it's terrible, but I'm surprised how it never managed to stain the SW brand.

Apparently it's Wookie-focused.

I couldn't get through the whole thing. It's so bad and awkward. When Chewy's grandfather starts watching holo-porn...

Might be good with RiffTrax.

I watched the whole thing with Rifftrax, thankfully the damage wasn't permanent.

edit: well, at least I don't think it was. Kinda hard to tell.

fake edit: I'm still amazed at how horrifically bad it is, and I grew up with crappy TV shows and reruns from that era.

Whole things still on youtube isnt it?
Couldnt get through more than the first 2 parts.
Its not just bad - its very disturbing and unsettling..

Never seen that ad before. My favorite parts: Harrison Ford's "What the FUCK AM I DOING" look in the ad.

The number of "TM"s appended to the character names.

Anyway, it's eye-melting horseshit of the lowest order, even by '70s variety show standards. People consistently put themselves through it because they're of the belief it's a "so bad its good" sort of entertainment that they can safely mock like junior MST3K-ers. Typically what happens is people just start to get angry that they're wasting their time watching this turd frost their corneas, and they just shut it off.

The Boba Fett cartoon by Nelvana is the only redeemable thing in it. The ONLY thing.

I've seen parts of it, and yeah, it is kinda awful. Still better than Episode 1 though. Also, wasn't Carrie Fisher coked out of her mind during the filming?

wait wat

so essentially it's gone?

Pretty much. People had warning that Google Video was ending, so I'm sure some people that cared saved that version, but getting a hold of it's going to be pretty much impossible until people get a sense of Disney's attitude towards the thing. The youtube version seems to be missing the credit scroll in addition to being all cut up, so syncing that is going to be tough.

In the meantime, there's this clip collection: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=En5xC_ChCno

Yeah. She was on coke for most of Empire and Jedi, too.

It's not better than Episode I. It's not even close. It's interminable garbage. Trying to be a drama and failing is just boring. Trying to be funny and not getting a SINGLE laugh - intentional or otherwise? That's one of the most painful, embarrassing failures to witness.

Wait, she was always high on coke during SW? Now that adds another perspective on her :/

Looks like I have to scrounge the net then.

Yeah, she's talked a lot about her addiction problems before I believe.

There's easier ways to give yourself brain damage, but good luck I guess.

Oh, here's a longer clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pR6gtr01Sc

If you'd seen the whole thing you wouldn't joke about it being better than any filmed entertainment. :p

Honestly, even with Rifftrax it was pretty unwatchable.

Wait, even with Rifftrax it would be unbearable? D:

My sincerest apologies if " thankfully the damage wasn't permanent" sounded like an endorsement.

The wookie family was the central focus, all the cool characters were just cameos. They'd throw in some human characters from time to time so there was someone speaking English, but as I recall, there were parts where it was just the wookies wandering around the house howling at each other.

Not "unbearable" in the sense that its so bad your mind will explode, but its a fucking boring, poorly acted pos and the riffs aren't good enough to keep your interest most of the time. A failing of both the movie and the commentary.
