I'm too lazy for post history but I find myself wondering this gentleman's general attitude towards Star Wars, Disney, Ubisoft and this specific game.
It could explain some extent of defensiveness over this detail.
annnnnnnd there we have it. That is your real issue with this huh? You didn't think many of us find it odd you guys are in tears about a 1 hit stealth attack in a fucking video game? This isn't some new thing so I got to wonder why is this such a big deal annnnnd here we have it, it has nothing to do with this feature it seems as why the fuck are you not saying this on other games? Whats with this exact game where that is some issue, but bringing up the publisher, owner of the IP, its clear your issue has nothing to really do with this feature or the game in general and seems influenced by something else....
I feel many of you have an issue with the publisher or the owner of the IP and seem to have this idea that anyone simply playing a fucking video game or liking a fucking video game is now some declaration of war or defending this idea or that.
This is just a fucking game and not everyone liking a game or understanding how normal a damn feature is, is suddenly some secret agent for a company or "defending" the company.
I'm merely showing you this isn't a new feature or new idea and most of us don't care man. I'm sorry man, I got to put you on that ignore list.
I don't ask for realism in fiction, but consistency. Bond, Jason Bourne or Indiana Jones are pretty much superheroes in disguise
lol Marcus Holloway from Watchdogs 2 is a hero in disguise too? or Michael from GTAV? lol I agree with why that is done in film btw, but its also done in film to just move the story along and its done in games as trope of "oh you sneaked behind someone and you now have +10 attack and 1 hit will kill em" lol
Action movies do this all the time even when the fucking person isn't the main hero, like the whole (we are kidnapped and need to escape, punch the guard once and he is down for the count) lol
So too many games and films do this and I have a hard time believing any of you would even be in some thread on NeoGaf talking about a 1 hit kill regarding Watchdogs 1 or 2 or GTAV or GTAVI or Uncharted or any of that. For something this common, this much of a trope, I don't really buy either of you btw actually really care as you've yet to even prove its some rare thing or something.
This game has never once marketed itself as some simulation, where you need fuel and can only carry a certain amount of weapons, you have stamina meter or the size of the character to an enemy having some real world effect, so I'm sorry man, nothing here suggest the game was even going for some realism thing to act as if her hitting an enemy from behind was this rare, wild, brand new idea in a game..
So unrealistic? Sure, but this is a fucking video game lol Nothing in this is to be taken as some documentary or simulation of something. That much should be obvious.
The Ewok thing is pretty retarded now that you mention it but isn't that generally accepted that ROTJ is kind of a stupid movie?
Sure but, that is kinda the point that is being made, dumb, sure, unrealistic, probably...but we are taking about a fake IP, the whole thing is fake.
So my biggest issue with a lot of this is what is the overall expectation of the property? Does the universe have this idea of realism when it comes to fighting or is this very hero based like they want the little guy to win based on adversity like he comes up with a cunning plan to win against the big brute dumb Empire ?
So even watching this film when I was a child and then again as an adult of course it's silly but I look at most of Star Wars this way most of the things are completely improbable a lot of them don't even make sense but this is not a science fiction like Aliens or Terminator I don't even know if I want to consider Star Wars a science fiction it feels closer to an action adventure in the setting of a science fiction but I digress
There is this whimsical fantasy and this suspension of reality with the franchise where the Ewoks beating the Empire makes sense because it is this feel good the little guy wins against the big guy type of ideology so I'm not really surprised that these little miniature fucks beat the Empire but I'm no more surprised that any character is knocking on a guard with one punch female or otherwise
This runs on that same James bond / Indiana Jones fight the slow dumb cumbersome bad guy against the wholesome good guys
So I'm sorry my friends I don't believe the majority of the comments that I've been reading about this property that are desperately trying to make it seem as if a sense of realism regarding combat from 1 person to another was always inside of the property I don't even see any evidence that was ever the case especially in gaming where this trope of some stealth attack being overpowered is completely a normal idea
I don't see anything unusual here enough to waste the time with a conversation like this.
You guys would have to prove to me that this is something never done in a game and completely unusual for me to ever care about it.
