Both have distinctive and different styles, but I agree with the premise of scope. This film seems to offer lots of it.

The dialogue feels like everyone popped a xanax before filming. Or whatever the drug is that makes the robot character have the most emotion in its voice. Now I'm conflating acting and dialogue together. I dont even know, but I dont like this.

I was mostly referring to the characters. The trailer has done nothing to sell me on them at all.

I can almost see the glorious sacrifice already. Pretty boiler plate stuff.

Can't really argue with that, but in this movie the protagonists are almost beside the point for me. It's where they are and what they're doing that's interesting.

TFA didn't look that good. It had the one great shot on Jakku of the derelict destroyer and that's it. It never really let its shots breathe.

I stand with this. That's really the only shot that enters my mind when I think about TFA.

I'm kinda worried that the tone and acting are going to be too soft and Episode 7 like instead of just making a super dark film.

The cinematography and set designs look so goddamn great. Godzilla had a breathtaking scene, the parachute descent, that really showed what Edwards could do. Worst case scenario, we're probably going to get the best shot SW movie out of this.

Anyone who needs a refresher on what Greig Fraser can do should watch Killing them Softly and Zero Dark Thirty, both films are absolutely gorgeous. He was a great get for Rogue One.

The trailer just kind of washed over me. I don't know if it's bad at all, but it didn't wow me.

I think aside from just "rebels, empire, spaceships looking cool", I need a bit of awe and mystery. Haven't really seen it in any of this.

Maybe the "Star Wars without Jedi" that I thought I'd be excited about just kinda looks like a scene from Battlefront or a live action version of Rebels. I've kinda seen it all.
