If the back of Darth Vader's head excites you...well....I wont finish the sentence
Casual viewers probably didn't know he was going to be in the movie, and fans haven't seen Vader in a Star Wars movie since ROTS, so if you're going to judge people for getting excited about the back of Vader's helmet...well...I won't finish the sentence.

You might want to consider how it looks for you to shame people for getting hyped about Star Wars when you're posting on NeoGAF.

Looks good so far, gonna keep my hopes tempered though.

Oh, who am I kidding. Lord have mercy on the movies that have to contend with this it's first few weekends, it's gonna be another monster.

As a casual SW fan who is mainly in for the hype, I think it was a solid trailer. It's crazy how much screen power the evil dude has compared to the good guys (even though Donnie Yen looks cool)

Looks like Tony Gilroy is now credited as screenwriter alongside Chris Weitz. We knew he was writing some additional dialogue but I guess it was substantial enough to be credited.

Tony Gilroy will always be a favorite of mine cause of Michael Clayton, one of my favorite movies of recent times.

Im intrigued to say the least.

I can't wait to hear Alexandre Desplat's music. This isn't the first time he's done music for a franchise that initially had John Williams compose the music. Desplat composed the scores of the final two Harry Potter films.

He did a really good job too. Love Obliviate, Lily's Theme and Statues.

C'mon. Let's see the rest of the sentence.

That one fat rebel pilot and George Lucas names him Porkins.

smh

It's probably the best thing about Star Wars.

I was really hoping the fat Resistance pilot in ep7 was gonna be Porkins Jr.

Tangentially, if you want to cosplay as Porkins, is it some kind of appropriation or privilege if you wear a fat suit?

I'm very happy at seeing such a diverse cast, it's what modern day Hollywood should strive for, and for the second time in a row a female in what appears to be the lead role. A tip of the hat to the filmmakers, writers and Disney to push for this type of diversification.

I love Ridley. But yeah from what we've seen of Jones, they don't appear to be utilizing her talents (of course, these are just trailers, so we'll have to see what the end product is). I'm just getting "I'm a badass street smart action star with clever one liners" instead of anything meaningful and worthwhile for her character. Hopefully that changes in the film itself. Not feeling her vibe. The only thing I've enjoyed from her thus far is her delivery of "May the Force be with us" in the celebration reel. I want more of THAT. Lots of dialogue she's been given has been really bad though.
Rey was instantly likable from the trailers. I don't think this new character has made enough of an impression yet.

I liked the trailers for TFA and I ended up having a great time with the movie itself (enough to have seen it twice in theaters, which I hadn't done since The Dark Knight), but the trailer for Rogue One isn't quite giving me the right vibe yet, so I'm uncertain about the movie as well.

I'll keep an open mind. Like I said earlier, trailers are so often misleading that I'm usually willing to reserve judgment.

All that said, visually the movie looks on point.

I have a 4th Death Star for sale cheap. Top of the page baby!

These fucking nerds getting excited about seeing the arguably most iconic villain in cinematic history, bunch of idiots.
Wow thats bad. Like to the point of making me angry.

Agreed, the fact that Star Wars fans are getting a movie that they think looks amazing just boils my blood.

Not too excited about the Han Solo film. More than anything, I'm just interested in seeing how it expands the lore. Maybe we'll get to see Corellia, among other things.

I know that, but ILM isn't known for their screenwriting.

Neither was Abrams! :rimshot:

It certainly looks nice, but I do agree that the story in of itself isn't all that intriguing. It is nice to see Donnie Yen with a big part in a western blockbuster, though!

Obi-Wan movie would completely overshadow the sequel trilogy. It will probably happen after Star Wars Episode IX: Revelation of the Forever and be a multiple-installment series itself.

Nah. The final act will be Donnie Yen taking him on one on one wuxia style in an epic martial arts force battle while the others escape. Expectations through the roof!!!!!

...I would love them to have some epic martial arts moment in a Star Wars film but after they failed to use the Raid people properly my hopes have been dashed...

I hope the games industry take note and any Star Wars games by EA follow the same line of diversity
