I finished the game tonight and thought it was incredible from beginning to end. One of the best gaming experiences I've had this year. Is it a little short? Yes but I had so much fun with it that I definitely plan playing through it again on the unleashed difficulty. Calling this one of 2010's biggest disappointments is a complete joke in my eyes. The game is incredibly polished with no slow down. It's also one of the prettiest games I've ever played and it's just flat out fun. I think that's something important that slips people's mind when playing through a game. I don't need a game to be 20 hours to consider it great. I guarantee had this game been made around 12 hours people would've complained about repetitiveness. It's sort of a lose lose situation. Either way, I absolutely loved it and can't wait to play through it again
This game is awesome, but graphically it disapoints sometimes, i mean sometimes it looks freaking amazing, other things look like ps2.
and why is this 30fps locked on pc..?

I forced some AA one and stuff with nvidia control panel and it looks way sharper to me now, but still only 30fps, i should be able to 60fps this on max. =(
I thought the plot was ok. I didn't identify with his motivation for doing what he does. It felt shallow. Although technically the game is vastly superior to the first one and the gameplay mechanics have been improved, I felt that the game was a bit hollow. It really lacked a middle. It's as if there was only a beginning and an end and the end wasn't that great. The opening is awesome though. So I do prefer the first one to the second one by quite a margin. As for the plot, the first one felt like it could be part of the main movies, wheres this sequel feels more EU stuff ( I am not that big of a SW fan so I have only read a few EU novels like a decade ago lol)
Well, I guess I'll let you guys know what I think about the game.
I was still on the fence, and 95% of the time, Amazon ships my game late in the afternoon so I thought I had some time, but I didn't take into account that once it's "Shipping Soon", you can't cancel your order.
Well, Ive went back and forth on this one a million times, but chris up above posts on another board I post on (barely at all anymore though), so I trust his opinions. Got it preordered from Amazon with my $20 credit from Medal of Honor.
It usually takes me longer to play through a game than the average play time estimate, so if I can get 7 or 8 good hours out of the game, I'll be happy.
I thought about getting the Collector's Edition over and over, but I just couldn't pull the trigger. The unboxing kind of made up my mind for me although the artbook with interactive commentary sounds cool.
Just got some extra birthday money today and preordered this from amazon, I can't wait. I loved the first one, and loved the demo for this, should be awesome.
I picked up the 360 version. I've been getting these really weird pauses in gameplay. I would use force lightning on a tie fighter and before it blew up I would get a pause for a second. I don't think it's the game. Not sure how to fix it though. It totally ruins the awe factor of what's happening on screen.

It's the game. Happens more and more later on as more stuff happens onscreen. Force Repulse is practically guaranteed to make it happen. Not sure if it's an issue on the PS3 or PC.
Managed to get the PC version tonight and Plot What Plot seems to be the best description for the game as well as where is the content.
The overall gameplay is much improved but theres like 4 levels. Kamino, Cato Neimodia, Rebel Nebulan-B Ship and then Kamino again. The gameplay is fun and you can tell they learned mistakes from the first game but maybe they should have taken the time making the 10 or so challenges and made more levels cause overall the game feels too short. It is more like what I would expect from a 29.99 expansion pack.
As for the ending it was to be expected since they have one more to make before they off the character to keep with the lore.
Solid Gameplay but the lack of content and overall expansion pack feel knocks it down to a 6/10. There is no replay value at all pretty much. I will add the PC version price wise is the closest to what it really should be.

Fuck. Loved the first one and this is one of my most anticipated releases this year. I was afraid this is how it would have turned out, and after playing the demo, I was left thinking the final product would end up as you described.
Really kind of want the tin case LE, but I might hold off for a DD XBL release next year now. Not feeling the need to blow $60+ on a dissapointing sequel.
Going to pick my CE for the PS3 up in the morning, hearing the gameplay is improved is all I need cause the story of the first was shit and I already read the graphic novel which tells it from Boba Fetts viewpoint

If you need to watch a game being played by someone else, up to the final boss, just to get an idea of how you may (or may not) like it... then how the hell can you say that the game's short?
You've already got double the time out of it!
After playing the demo, which I thought was AMAZING, I'm finding it hard to believe that the game is as bad as people are saying it is. Everyone shat all over the first one, but I enjoyed it anyway, so it's hard for me to know who to trust...

I'll have some video up from the Wii version in a bit. I think it looks pretty good and the combat is fun but I'm not too crazy about the waggle/qte's.
Pick up my copy tomorrow and I'll post impressions after. Finished the first game along with all of its DLC, so I'll be keen to finally sink my teeth into this.
Well, that's that. 5 hours long. If they'd made a full game it could have been GOTY. Now it's condemned to reviewers arguing over whether it's worth renting or not. It's literally half a game. What story there is is fine, but all the plot points reach their middle when it ends. The game that is there is very polished, but guess what, 5 hours of that isn't enough. I'd rather take FU1 quality if it meant getting a real game rather than this demo.
As someone said the game is 4 levels: Kamino - Cato Neimodia - Rebel Spaceship - Kamino again. And half of one of those levels is the first half of the level but you walk through it backwards. The entire plot can be summed up as "Break out, get help, come back".
Force powers were turned down just a little too much compared to the first game. Very little DMM physics on show.
Most of the boss fights were great. One wasn't:
the first half of Vader's. how many platform leaps did it take just to chip away at him?
I miss the Jedi fights from the first game. The concept of a wide-side view in an arena for you to do a 1 on 1 acrobatic saber fight was great but the execution was really sloppy. Could have fixed it for this game.
Maps have a lot less variety. It's either tubular corridors or platforms bolted to the side of very tall structures.
I loved the OTT point I spoilered on the first page. That kind of stuff is why I follow these games.
Someone said the novelisation featured Admiral Ackbar but the game doesn't.
I really don't like fighting combat droids. Even human-piloted mechs are preferable.
That
medical frigate
was the rebel flagship? I thought the Mon Calamari cruiser was. And despite showing it at the end of
Revenge of the Sith, we're now supposed to believe that it's a completely different ship shown during the original trilogy.
Overall I liked what there was, there just wasn't much.

Most of the crapping on is because the game is apparently very light on content. Much shorter game with very little actual storyline, and no ending. They improved the core game it seems, but it's a lacking product.
Seems like they were rushing this one out and already working on a 3rd game to follow it according to the previous LA layoffs rumors.

? Game takes place before ANH, one could figure that the rebels don't really have any Mon Cal Cruisers yet and Frigates are their biggest ships, we don't see anything bigger than the frigates till ROTJ. The ship at the end of episode 3? Only the corvette was shown, don't remember any mon cal.
I enjoyed the 1st one but it was either way too easy or too hard it was not well balanced so I didn't want to even try to replay through the game. Is this game more balanced ? I would pick it up if it was for playthroughs on higher difficulties.

So aside from ending abruptly, how is the story in execution? I actually liked the one in the first TFU but thought this one sounded ridiculously awful on paper.
so-so. I find it almost impossible to do a second replay on almost any game. There are challenge levels you unlock, and depending on your rank you'll unlock a memory cinematic, sabre crystal and a costume for each. There's an alternate ending that you need to replay the last level for. Your force powers are persistent so the powers you have at the end of the game can be used on any level/challenge.

Well, it's better than nothing, I guess...
I already bought and paid the game, so there's no turning back now...but I bet there will be DLCs and a "Jedi Edition" like the first game.
Thanks again!

I thought it was fine. There's just as little of it as there are levels, as each level has really only 1 plot point.
It essentially goes:
Kamino
escape from here
Cato Neimodia
rescue Kota
Rebel spaceship
stop the Imperials from taking Juno
Kamino
find Vader and rescue Juno
There's Dagobah as well but it's just a cutscene. I have no problems with Starkiller being more powerful than all other jedi combined, or any of the Extended Universe stuff it might interfere with. I like the actor who plays Starkiller. What dialogue there was was fine. The CGI cutscenes are excellent.
The database and memory flashbacks you unlock as you progress add some backstory.
I've Empires at War Gold Edition lying around and I never played it past the training levels and this game's put me in the mood for it.
