Star Wars: The Old Republic |OT2| In a F2Play galaxy far, far away

That just seems like something that is going to further make the grouping aspect of the game worse and less players doing them.

Updating the operations is fine, thats good to up them but folks are going to want new content, not repeating the operations they have already ran through a ton of times.

yeah absolutely no surprise. newly designed group content was hardly enough so far in expansions, it was clear that it would not be enough, or even none in the expansion with this huge single player focus.

So subs are essentially paying for single player content in an MMO. I feel for progression raiders. I guess most of the hardcore ones like DnT saw this coming miles away and that's why they bailed when they did.

It kind of feels like they're experimenting with turning SWTOR into an episodic single-player game hiding in the guise of an MMO.

As someone who basically exclusively plays SWTOR as a single-player game, this doesn't bother me too much, but I feel for the hardcore MMO crowd that is kind of getting screwed.

The flight plan I just filed with the agency list me, my men, Dr. Pavel here. But only one of you!
I'm not really sure how I feel about this, but to be honest it's mostly... positive, I think? It seems good that they are choosing to focus on the best aspects of the game (individual class storylines) and streamlining that solo experience to include a chunk of flashpoints that folks can do themselves.

If you are a hardcore endgame PVE MMO guy, SWTOR was never really your best option anyway, tbh. And I'm not saying that to be flippant or dismissive to what SWTOR has, it just seems like there are multiple better options out there with larger/more robust communities (both in-game and when it comes to website resources.)

Honestly making all ops level 65 is going to be enough for me, I think. I'll be content with those and the new story content.

I've been actually subbed to this game since the beginning and have no played in probably 5 months.

This might actually bring me back. The reason I stopped playing was that I just couldn't find the time to do weekly operations runs any more. Single player content that I can play any time is probably more up my alley and might actually bring me back.

Hold on, friend! I'd love to share with you some swell news about the Windows 8 Metro UI! Wait, where are you going?
On the flipside the wife is coming back to the game for the first time since launch because of the new story stuff. Plus she loved the look of the new Yavin stronghold.

I haven't even finished some of the ops like the Oricon ones or Ravagers (except for the solo version) so it's not a big deal for me either.

Personally I want them to add more non-combat content like they did with strongholds but that's just me missing SWG. The wife keeps asking if they've added an entertainer class yet :p

Hey, SWTOR GAF!

So, I'm getting back into the game after a loooooong way away, and I'm really enjoying it. The 12x XP bonus for class missions really streamlines the game, which is great since the shared content (and the planet storylines, to a lesser extent) is mostly the worst :p Only downside is that I came out of it seriously undergeared, but I'm making that up at the GTN one bit at a time.

On that note, the new expansion looks sick! I'm a little unclear on the details, tho. Are they going back and redoing the early game content, or is it all new story material for the existing class stories, or what?

Just finished the Sith Warrior class story, wondering what recommendations you guys have for what to do next? I really enjoyed the Sith Warrior story (lightside), and I'm debating tackling the expansion content or switching to a different class. What say you?

They're revamping the 1-50 experience so that players can just focus on the class stories to level up instead of having to do side missions as well. At least that's what it sounds like to me from what they've said so far. All of the Fallen Empire content will be for Level 60 players though.

I'd say do the expansion stories first so you can play through Shadow of Revan. Then play a different class afterwards to see how their stories play out.

Aight, I'll get on that. Thanks! :D

Shadow of Revan is good, then?

Yes, it's quite good. I enjoyed Rise of the Hutt Cartel as well which will be the 50-55 content for you.

Can anyone help? I signed up for this today but at no point it asked for an email address and I can't find anywhere on the site to either add an email address or connect to my Origin account or anything. What's going on? :/

Here's mine, quote it

Here's mine:

BTW: Working my way through Hutt Cartel, think I'm almost at the end of it, but I decided to do this heroic (The Specialists), and ARGH the final boss is obnoxious. If it'd just let me fight the bastard that'd be one thing, but the first two times he ended up jumping out of his range and resetting, then I found out that my companion is, in fact, too stupid to run out of a giant pile of fire. Picked up a stim pack and some medpacks, hopefully 4th time's the charm :p

Hutt Cartel started off kinda slow, but it really ramped up later on; definitely one of the better non-class storylines. Should I bother doing the operations leading up the interlude mission, or just skip them? And is the interlude itself worth doing, or am I better off proceeding directly to Shadow of Revan?

You don't have to do the Ops however there are 4 flashpoints that need to be done before SoR. You can solo them with a helper bot the first time through as they're required to proceed.

The images in the OP are hosted on minus, but as I understand it, they recently disabled hotlinking to at least GAF if not other sites.

At some point I will move everything over to Imgur, or just create a smaller and more concise OP.

Edit: In the meantime, if you click this link:

and scroll down to bottom of the page, the images will cache and then load in the OP properly.

Why is this thread so dead? I don't get it, isn't SWTOR one of the highest grossing mmos out right now? And then there's a new xpac coming out soon too. As for me, I played the beta way back when and never got into it. Last week I had an MMO itch that WoW and FFXIV weren't scratching, so I gave this a shot and wow i'm having a lot of fun. There are like 5 storylines I want to do, so I'm sure that will keep me busy for a while.

First year was kind of a disaster which killed the hype for this game, and the fanbase for MMO's is not large in Gaf. Just consider yourself lucky that this thread isn't inundated with I WANT KOTOR 3 posts.
