It seems like the point of 'beta' testing is now server load tests combined with extra PR.

I would send in bug reports. So many of them. Bioware, you would be drowning in them. LET ME IN!Zalasta said:Yeah...maybe like 5 years ago. Now a days beta is less about testing and more of a publicity stunt. Basically free game time for people to find the most optimal way to grind to level cap and in the rare cases where characters transfer into retail, early access. Those that actually send in bug reports are in the small minority.

I'll be over on the best side where endgame Smuggler gear had better look like Malcolm Reynolds.
Which is one reason I'm doing Republic. I don't play Easy Mode.MadraptorMan said:I think it's going to be Alliance vs Horde all over again...meaning the Republic is gonna end up getting its ass kicked 8 times out of 10 on most servers. You know I'm right.

Also a generation before Bane, the Sith Empire did win and controlled majority of the galaxy
My mistake, I thought Bane was around 3,000 BBY.Darklord said:TOR - Between 3,643 BBY and 3,641 BBY
Darth Bane - Born 1,026 BBY

I thought Darth Bane was after BBY? Like way after Luke and Mara's time.Darklord said:TOR - Between 3,643 BBY and 3,641 BBY

Re-Establish perhaps. (Revan was the first I think)Luigi87 said:No, Darth Bane is long before, and the one who established the Rule of Two, of One Master, One Apprentice.

Bane only established that rule because Revan said so in his Holocron. Beside, the only apprentice he had was Malak.BattleMonkey said:Nope, Revan did not establish such a rule, the Sith were numerous under him and expanded greatly. Remember the armies of Sith you cut down in KOTOR?
Bane established the rule of 2 in an attempt to keep the Sith alive, because it was often the Sith who brought upon their own ruin, and before his time the Sith had control of the galaxy but lost it largely due to Sith going to war with each other.

Wow its that many books? Are most of them worth reading?kodt said:
BattleMonkey said:It was really a suggestion, but Revan never implemented the rule. He took one apprentice, but still was involved in the creation of the Sith Academy on Korriban which pumped out hundreds of sith and completely goes against the rule of two.
I remember the X-Wing books being great. I still have all of them on my bookshelf.CoilShot said:Wow its that many books? Are most of them worth reading?
If you haven't read the book about Darth Bane, you should. However, I wouldn't bother with the SWTOR books that are out right now.CoilShot said:Wow its that many books? Are most of them worth reading?

So I cant get any of these books digitally can I?BattleMonkey said:Course not, quality can be all over the place, plus many of them are written for children and can be pretty bad. You got to be selective on what you read. First off just erase anything form that list that is listed in red as the young adult books, 99% of them are awful.
The Xwing series, Republic Commando, Darth Bane Trilogy, Thrawn Trilogy.... those are some good books that a person can start with.
CoilShot said:Wow its that many books? Are most of them worth reading?
First Thrawn novelCoilShot said:So I cant get any of these books digitally can I?
Well, it's totally relative on where you look for them. Of course, you can get them on amazon.CoilShot said:So I cant get any of these books digitally can I?
Baller said:If you haven't yet, read the Darth Bane books by Drew K. They're fucking awesome. Especially the first one.
I used to be a heavy Star Wars novel reader as a kid, but as I re-read some of the books in my adulthood, I realized that so many are incredibly bad. The Thrawn Trilogy still held up though.Giolon said:Having read most of the ones that aren't Young Adult novels, I'll say no.
I suggest the Thrawn Trilogy, the Jedi Academy Trilogy, I Jedi, maybe The Courtship of Princess Leia, and the New Jedi Order books (if you can stand something a little different than your usual Star Wars).
The Legacy of the Force series made me quit reading the EU altogether it was so bad.
The real awesomeness though is in the KOTOR and Legacy comic series though, IMO.
Well, maybe Bane just didn't know how... haha. The first book is great if you plan to play a sith, since it's mostly about the sith academy.Morn said:And that's where Drew K. establishes that Sith can't heal...which TOR contradicts.
Lore wasn't even consistent from Mass Effect 1 to 2 (that ammo explanation is bullshit) so I don't really have hope for Bioware in the lore dpartment. I just try to ignore it and enjoy the game/book.Morn said:And that's where Drew K. establishes that Sith can't heal...which TOR contradicts.
