What does it matter, the point of beta should be actual testing.

Yeah...maybe like 5 years ago. Now a days beta is less about testing and more of a publicity stunt. Basically free game time for people to find the most optimal way to grind to level cap and in the rare cases where characters transfer into retail, early access. Those that actually send in bug reports are in the small minority.

I would send in bug reports. So many of them. Bioware, you would be drowning in them. LET ME IN!

I always find it interesting that publishers aren't ready for the amount of people that pre-order their game, or werent expecting it.
I remember Blizzards success on WoW originals launch, and I understand that was a surprise. Somehow they were surprised all the expansion packs afterwards.

Even though it's pretty impressive that BF3 was surpassed by SWTOR in pre-orders, i did expect it.
Shooters aren't really games that people pre-order as there are less incentives to do so.

And blackface, could you update our NeoGAF guildbanner in the OP? I'll include the mention in our info that we're a PvP guild.
We're now 33 members strong btw, so if you wanna join a nice big guild on a pvp server in europe, don't hesitate!

NeoGAF

Republic scum .... I'd join in a heartbeat if it was an Empire guild.

Everyone knows the empire is going to be filled with children and emos.
"Oh look at me in my dark robes of +3 brooding!"
I'll be over on the best side where endgame Smuggler gear had better look like Malcolm Reynolds.

I think it's going to be Alliance vs Horde all over again...meaning the Republic is gonna end up getting its ass kicked 8 times out of 10 on most servers. You know I'm right.

I was thinking of trying sith Inquisitor but I might try a female bounty hunter first since I heard the male Mandolorian companion is voice by John Cygan (Canderous) ;). I hope he has awesome stories heh.

Republic wins. Spoilers.

Only to fall pray to the Sith way down the road and then they rise up as a damn terrorist group and try and sugar coat it by calling them selves the New Republic

But hey I guess they do win. And when they do some day I can call them Rebel scum and love it.

It would be pretty hard for a republic Guild leader to be in the empire.

We need to end up on the same server somehow.

Which is one reason I'm doing Republic. I don't play Easy Mode.

They never covered this period or the 2 thousand years after so far. Anything can happen >:)

They have such a huge gap to work with they could easily make the sith win...for a time.
Ummmmm....

Thats 2000 years after this game.

Also a generation before Bane, the Sith Empire did win and controlled majority of the galaxy

TOR - Between 3,643 BBY and 3,641 BBY
Darth Bane - Born 1,026 BBY
My mistake, I thought Bane was around 3,000 BBY.

And people wonder why there's still a NDA for the beta...

Re-Establish perhaps. (Revan was the first I think)

Nope, Revan did not establish such a rule, the Sith were numerous under him and expanded greatly. Remember the armies of Sith you cut down in KOTOR?

Bane established the rule of 2 in an attempt to keep the Sith alive, because it was often the Sith who brought upon their own ruin, and before his time the Sith had control of the galaxy but lost it largely due to Sith going to war with each other.

Bane only established that rule because Revan said so in his Holocron. Beside, the only apprentice he had was Malak.

"Thus, he formulated the concept of the "Rule of Two" after discovering a holocron in the Temple of the Ancients on Lehon. The holocron belonged to the ancient Sith Lord Darth Revan, who was the first to realize the flawed logic of training more than one apprentice. Through the gatekeeper of his holocron, Revan taught Bane how any master that trained multiple apprentices was a fool."

I forget, what do the comic books cover? I'm talking about the Sith that takes place during Skywalker's kids, after the Yuuzan Vong or whatever. The guy who apparently recently died or something and had that weird skeleton armor.

This is what I'm wondering... I'm currently going Republic but I really can't tell if Republic or Empire are going to be more populated with idiots yet.

It was really a suggestion, but Revan never implemented the rule. He took one apprentice, but still was involved in the creation of the Sith Academy on Korriban which pumped out hundreds of sith and completely goes against the rule of two.

That's true, but Revan never trained any of them. Still, Bane is still badass.

Wow its that many books? Are most of them worth reading?
If you haven't read the book about Darth Bane, you should. However, I wouldn't bother with the SWTOR books that are out right now.

Course not, quality can be all over the place, plus many of them are written for children and can be pretty bad. You got to be selective on what you read. First off just erase anything form that list that is listed in red as the young adult books, 99% of them are awful.

The Xwing series, Republic Commando, Darth Bane Trilogy, Thrawn Trilogy.... those are some good books that a person can start with.

Having read most of the ones that aren't Young Adult novels, I'll say no.

I suggest the Thrawn Trilogy, the Jedi Academy Trilogy, I Jedi, maybe The Courtship of Princess Leia, and the New Jedi Order books (if you can stand something a little different than your usual Star Wars).

The Legacy of the Force series made me quit reading the EU altogether it was so bad.

The real awesomeness though is in the KOTOR and Legacy comic series though, IMO.

If you haven't yet, read the Darth Bane books by Drew K. They're fucking awesome. Especially the first one.

And that's where Drew K. establishes that Sith can't heal...which TOR contradicts.

I used to be a heavy Star Wars novel reader as a kid, but as I re-read some of the books in my adulthood, I realized that so many are incredibly bad. The Thrawn Trilogy still held up though.

Well, maybe Bane just didn't know how... haha. The first book is great if you plan to play a sith, since it's mostly about the sith academy.

Lore wasn't even consistent from Mass Effect 1 to 2 (that ammo explanation is bullshit) so I don't really have hope for Bioware in the lore dpartment. I just try to ignore it and enjoy the game/book.
