its not exactly an rc its more of a lets get all the art assets done and get em burned with an accompanying patch executable. I mean there will be a 0day patch heheheGvaz said:This game is not ready for an RC, no fucking way

If WoW comes out with a new one in march, releasing in may will only help rather than hurt.Morn said:They won't delay it until mid-2012. And releasing it within two months of March would be a WAR-level of suicide as they'll be slamming into the new WoW expansion.
There is no beta code for pre-ordering. Do you mean the early access code?JJBro One said:Has anybody got the beta code after preordering from amazon? I didn't.
I haven't followed Tera but I think the buzz is generally that it's DOA in the West. Something about the original dev team already leaving and working on another game.BattleMonkey said:Soonest they would delay would probaby be very very early 2012, any longer and it's suicide going up against possible new Blizzard stuff on several fronts, and new MMO's like GW2 and Terra

Again, I don't think GW2 is direct competition for TOR except in the sense that all games of any type are competing for people's time. WoW would be closer competition, but I still think even if TOR releases next year it will still be before Blizzard's new MMO.
My money is still on TOR doing well at least until whatever the hell Titan is releases.

I think that rumor originated from this thread.kodt said:We thought pre-ordering increased your chances of getting in though.

bounchfx said:Is anyone else's hype for this game dying rapidly?
a few weeks ago I was super excited, got my pre order, ready to play.
but now I'm just.. eh. when is it gonna be? so much waiting I really hope it isn't just wow in space.. but from what I hear...
I'm sure when it gets close to release I'll be megahype again, but this is certainly a downturn for me

Dakota47 said:If Morn's rumor is true that means us Europeans can only do some stress testing and that's it. Well Bioware, fuck you too.
The less hype the better. Stop obsessing over every detail. Go outside and get some fresh air. Play other games. Stop reading leak sites. If you happen to get a beta invite from Bioware, that's cool, log in and check it out. Finally one day you'll be pleasantly surprised that the game has a release date and it'll arrive.Rapture said:This is what i did. Dues Ex has been my savior.
But i still cant help but feel like I'm not very hyped for this game anymore. Not to the point where I'm going to cancel my pre-order but Bioware hasn't given me anything to be excited about for weeks and I've had to turn to leak websites to get any sort of info on the game.
Q: Some testers have given the impression and/or said, as well as some recent hints by Bioware, that companions dont have as much customization as percieved and that you just buy pre-set customization options and dont have as much creative control as you would of had with your character? Is this true (for either humans or aliens) and does this continue to occur during endgame? If so, is Bioware aware and/or working towards improving the companion customization, especially as maybe a reward or something for endgame?
A: Well, Im seriously pissed with bioware on this question.
First of all, you can only customize the first companions for every class right now. There are 3 companion kits for each one of them. So you can run around with red tatooed Vette, yellow Vette, and blue Vette. Nothing fancy, right? The other companions doesnt even have these 3 options, only the default.
Second, and it worries me like hell: Yes, you get 5 companions 5 different classes. Sounds cool right? Well, its not. Bounty hunter is the perfect example. You get Mako first. Shes a healer, and shes awesome. Basically shes an autoheal for the BH, so you dont need to heal yourself in or out of combat. You just run around and kill shit, never stop. Awesome. Then you get a ranged dps, a melee dps, a ranged tank, and a melee tank. Now they seriously SUCK. They are. I mean I tried to go with Blizz (ranged tank), because hes supercute, and funny. He really is, so good work on that bioware. But seriously, he sucks at combat. I had to regenerate after every combat with him. Its just not fun. So you will go with Mako, from level 1 to level 50. Other classes have their Makos too, for example sorc Khem, or marauder Malavi Quinn. You just cant live without them.

antonz said:Honestly a release candidate does make sense. Probably be at least a week before server is back up and at that point your pushing October. Retail is beginning to get its advertising materials and frankly they dont have time left for more beta builds then a RC build.
Giolon said:I can't comment on the beta, but I can say that person is an idiot.
Hawk269 said:Agree. It can be a release candidate and still be patched up and down. It depends on how much work they were able to cram into this latest build. At this point, if this is RC version, it can still be patched heavily to make it proper RC. But we still have time if the Mid-Nov. rumor is true.
New build should roll out soon, internal and external testers give it a good 1 week testing, then they can add the weekend testers again. By Oct. 1st they would have enough data to begin fixing whatever needs to be fixed. And it is not like they have not internally started testing already and fixing some stuff already.
I think the question about it being pushed back to 2012 is more about how much content has made it into this build. If they are content complete and it is just about testing/bug reports etc. then 2011 is likely. If the build still has little to nothing past level 40, then yeah 2012.

This isn't aimed at you specifically. This goes for everyone. The level of hype surrounding this game borders on hysteria, and it's doing absolutely no good for anyone - not the fan and not even Bioware. People have expectations that no game can live up to. It's best if everyone just calms down a little, comes back to earth, and realizes it's just another game. Yes, it's Star Wars. Yes, it's by Bioware. Yes, it's a WoW-style MMO. No need to lose your shit over it.
He's right though, in that there's no "customization equip" you can buy for the second jedi companion, but it has a slot available.Giolon said:I can't comment on the beta, but I can say that person is an idiot.

He's wrong about one thing though. Yes there's very few customizations for the companion. But gear actually changes the appearance abit. At least the armor does.FieryBalrog said:
