I like my guildies, but I don't like them that much. =P
Edit: I can understand why some people would get together and do this. It actually highlights the advantage of a PvE server to me, since I think that's a bit Metagamey for my tastes.
It's more than likely unfinished with the new build that's out with some class tweaks. It's something to look at and get a good idea of what people want to play.
I don't see how anyone could complain about endgame content. There seems to be so much now. 2 Operations. Various hard modes of flashpoints. A new lvl 50 flashpoint. PvP. Open world pvp. Tatooine resource battles. Crafting. Gonna be some good times.
As of now, the non disclosure portion of our Game Testing Agreement is officially lifted. While all players must still accept the Game Testing Agreement, from this point on testers may now freely talk about their experiences this past weekend in the game, as well as post screenshots and gameplay videos of their testing experiences. We encourage you to come join us on the official Star Wars: The Old Republic Forums to share your experiences!
The Star Wars: The Old Republic community site will have a copy of this message on the forums and it will also appear in the Patcher. Players may not talk about nor reprint posts from our testing forums as they are still fully covered by the confidentiality portions of our Game Testing Agreement. And all players who want to participate in the upcoming Beta Test Weekends still have to accept all terms of the Game Testing Agreement. So, other than that, free feel to talk about and share your experiences in Star Wars: The Old Republic.
My thanks go out to everyone who has beta tested and continues to beta test the game. It has been with your help and feedback that Star Wars: The Old Republic is where it is today. We really appreciate your efforts.
May the Force be with you!

I love this game. It's been 6 months now, and I've had to start over 4 times, and I still love it. Sure there's some broken shit, but it's mostly not enough to bother me.
Now most of the holiday rush of games is over, I am back into full hype mode for this. Probably going to have a new PC just in time for next weeks beta too, which is nice.
That Directive 7 video posted above looked great, all the spell effects etc look very, very nice.
NDA lifted too, going to make for some interesting reading tomorrow morning.
I will say that the Taral V flashpoint is amazing. It's actually in 2 parts. The first part will take around 1-2 hours and its for level 28-32. Second part start around 35-37 or so(you should level up some during the first part) and its godly. If you like story then you will orgasm multiple times.
I like that there is a break in between, because the whole flashpoint will takes you around 4 hours or so.

"There are options for groups with the proper Crew Skills to avoid a good portion of the trash by unlocking alternate paths and shortcuts, but in the end, players will still have to fight the bosses."
This is cool. Maybe not while levelling but when you inevitably start doing hard modes etc shit like this will be a god send.
The item system is probably one of the best I've seen in a MMO. Most of the items in the game get the majority of its stats from modifications. What this lets you do is if you like the look of a level 10 piece of armor, you can put level 50 item modifications in and that item will then turn into a level 50 item.
I think It's a much better alternative than appearance tabs.
It's good they put back in the mod system, it would have taken away a real cool system. I know lot of people are scared about it's balance and the economy of it though... hopefully works out though.
I played a Jedi Consular Sage Seer spec to 50, roll one every build and get as far as I can (currently level 34). I've played every class to at least 10, BH to 27, SW Marauder and JK Guardian to 14.
Out of all of them, Bounty Hunter's my favorite. It has the best Prologue/Act I story, the best starter companion, and the best moves. You can't beat having a wrist-mounted rocket launcher, railgun, flamethrower, grappling hook, and a jetpack. Every move you see the BH do in the Deceived trailer, you've got in game. I love the flamethrower spin.
I will say Consular has THE WORST story of all the classes. In only general terms that I'll spoiler tag anyway, Act 1 consists of
running around the galaxy giving Jedi aspirin
, and Act 2 consists of
appeasing a cadre of whiny senators
. It wasn't until the 2nd half of Act 3 that I started to find it interesting.
Consular also has the worst, blandest companions.
Qyzen is stiff as a board, Tharan is a creeper, the 3rd guy I forget his name is just an asshole, the 4th guy is a wimp, and it's not until you finally get your last companion around level 45 that you finally get a female, Nadia, who becomes your padawan
. Compare this to Jedi Knights who get
a female Padawan, Kira, as their 2nd companion
. WTF Bioware, why is Consular a sausage fest for 45 levels?
So far Imperial Agent is my favorite class. I went in the beta with no interest in IA, but after playing it, I will probably roll one as my main. The story is great, and I loved the variety Operative has. They can stealth, be melee oriented, or heal. I played a healer for the most part and it was a ton of fun.

Yea I tried consular too and thought they had one of the most boring stories full of dull characters.

Yea I was the same. The class I had least interest in, but really fell in love with my IA. The cover system works fairly well also outside of the problem where you still sometimes will roll way out of the way into cover instead of kneeling down in place. Sometimes end up rolling like half a room away for no reason.
and if you want to get into a flashpoint, when youre questing on another planet, its pretty routine to see about five or more different loading screens on your way to the instance. its pretty lousy dawg
I recreate her exactly the same every time, and is what I'll be playing on live. Character textures are a quite a bit higher resolution now whan they were then.
Unfortunately this latest build that was pushed yesterday gave her some bushy ass eyebrows. They're tied to the freckled skin texture, so if I want to keep that, it means getting used to caterpillar face.
Something about when you hit level 50 you open up Surnames for your characters. I haven't hit 50 myself yet this time around to see exactly how it works, but the option is there in Social options.
I was totally wrong.
it cannot be worse than Trooper. literally not possible.
at one point, Taris had a three minute load.

Eh the load times have been improved with each and every build so far. Loads are not bad at all anymore. File encryption for the beta also adds to it.

This build has our first iteration of the Legacy System! At its core the Legacy system is about allowing players to create a family tree of characters. Family is pretty important to the Star Wars universe, with the Skywalker family having one of the most interesting dynamics in movie history. This version is just the foundational components that we will use to build upon in the future. Here are the features of this iteration:
Once your character has completed their Chapter 1 storyline, they will be able to choose a Legacy Last Name. This Legacy Last Name must be unique and is shared across all characters, on all servers - so choose carefully!
Once you have unlocked your Legacy, any and all characters on that server will now contribute to that player's Legacy Experience Points. Much like normal experience points, when you reach certain Legacy thresholds, you will increase your Legacy Level.
We already have plans for how we will expand the functionality of the Legacy System in one of our major post-ship patches. This will include being able to shape your Legacy's family tree, and give you a reward for all those Legacy Levels.
We look forward to reading your feedback on the Legacy System!
Have they found anything else about legacy? Supposedly all that has been found is that it unlocks surnames, but that it does mention there is more. I supposed it's not all in the beta yet?
From my time in a few previous beta phases, I agree with this 100%.
The WoW comparisons aren't exactly a bad thing as I played that game for a while. But the strangely linear overworld and lousy quests make it feel more like the worst aspects of OG WoW than WOTLK or something. It's enjoyable enough for free but there's absolutely no way I'm paying $60 + a sub fee.
