Yeah, I haven't heard anything about a weekend beta for this week. They just had a new build and they don't do weekend betas right after getting a new build.

Are these full beta keys being handed out like cookies? Or just weekend beta keys?

Otherwise I'm gonna have to start begging as well.

Seems the "Shadow Quality" slider is what makes the big difference in FPS for me.
What part of the PC does the calculating for these kind of things?
Would an increase in RAM help or is it purely GPU or CPU based?

I redeemed the beta code. Where do I download the client?

if somebody explains me and it will work I will give out another beta code.

You don't download one yet. It is not available yet. You'll get email about it probably.

swtor.com/tester (while logged in) allows downloading the client, if you're in, correct?

I don't know it just says that I have signed up but beta code is recognized in my account info.

So should I wait for email?

There used to be links in the forum to the software, don't see it right now, perhaps since everyone who signed up for beta weekends is allowed to see the forum they took it away.

For some reason Bioware sent me a beta key on their site despite me having a grand total of something like 2 posts over there.

Anyone want the code? I've got no interest in this.

IT helps if you give us your specs .

Shadow quality is normaly tied to your video card. If your on a budget i'd sugest a radeon hd 6850 make sure its 1 gig and they can be had for $130

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102908

also if your pc has 4 gigs of ddr 3 or less you should buy more , you can get an 8 gig set for only $30 bucks after rebate. There is no reason not to have 8 gigs of ddr 3. IF you have ddr 2 you might not want to since its no longer made and is very expensive

Aye I've been meaning to get some new ram, the ones I got atm aren't working out to well with my motherboard.

As for specs I'm using:

Motherboard: Asus P7P55D PRO
RAM: Corsair 4GB (2x2048MB) 1600MHz XMS3
CPU: Core i5 750, 2.66GHz
GPU: PowerColor Radeon HD5850 1GB
Power supply: Cougar CM 700W 80+ Bronze
HDD: Samsung SH-S223B 22X DVD±RW DL SATA Svart

My fps is about ~30-40 with shadows on the highest settings and about ~60-70 on the lowest (this is on the space station you get to after the origin worlds on the republic side).

There is no such thing as a beta key.

There are now. They used to not have such a thing but in the past couple weeks they implemented beta key access.

People while back were mixing up beta keys with early access keys, but now actual beta keys that tie into your account are being put out.

They aren't letting the weekend testers download the client yet? LOL. The beta client is almost 30gb last time I downloaded it. Good luck.

That's because there is still over a week before the weekend beta starts. Shouldn't happen until next Wednesday or so.

Oh my bad, sorry. I haven't been paying attention for awhile after getting burned out on the beta

you really shouldn't be having a problem honestly. I'd overclock the cpu since the game doesn't seem to take advantage past 2 cores and i'd also try more ram. like i said 8 gigs of ram is $30-$40 bucks on newegg.

A radeon 6850 will give you roughly the same performance as the hd 5850 so its a side grade at best. You'd have to to go to at least the 69x0 series . I made the upgrade and it was wroth it to me as my frames in most games at 5760x1080p doubled.

But i'd do the ram first , its the cheapest option . Also with amd releasing new cards based on the 28nm process i'd certianly wait 2-3 months for them.

Last time someone said they had permission, Bioware banned them.

Its confirmed by Bioware itself; Massively and a few other places have a limited lift on their NDA to stream and show the classes under limited time constraints.

Hopefully he will move onto the IA as thats the class I really want to see!

I like the look of his character. Too bad he's going to be banned within an hour.

Wait, is this actually from Massively then?

nm, answered below. I read urls gud

Let's pray you are incorrect.

Well I fell asleep last night before it finished. I will probably play some later tonight. I really need to cut back on the game. I'm playing empire, but man I have a feeling I will eventually play some empire once my republic toons are finished. This game is really, REALLY good.

I cancelled my preorder. My backlog + influx of games this fall plus next year tell me there is no way I will have time for this. Especially a Monthly pay MMO.

Video of the new PVP zone was posted up and killed the website that put it up lol
You mean the Ilum world pvp zone?

+ I've still got a key if someone wants it. PM me... I'm not that cruel.

Basically Outlaws Den is open PVP area in Tatooine.

It's free for all PVP zone where maximum level crafting resource nodes are located. Rare loot chest randomly spawn, and special rare vendor that spawns randomly to sell unique shit. The vendor that spawns can also be killed lol

I think theres also a shared auction house there.

That sounds very fun. Take a group in, loot chest, resources, and kill people. I like the sound of it.

It sounds good, as it gives a reason for their to be actual PVP in open world instead of how WAR was, where open world PVP had really no purpose for the most part. Give players a unique reason to be there and to fight over it over and over again.

And this is why it's okay Republic GAF is on a PVE server.

There's no benefit to that though since you wouldn't be able to take advantage of what's inside.

You block access to the zone, your guildies would have free reign over the resources.

There was some WAR events that had similar thing and one side would attempt to block access to the area from the other faction, while their side just ran around in safety reaping the rewards for their side. If it's resources for crafting, you will have guilds basically working together to control these areas.... which will be awesome unless theres massive faction imbalances
