They're exclusive in the fact that you didn't have to pay a dime! (Unless you bought games solely for tickets) :p
Well, I actually did buy ten games for tickets. But, they were all either already on my wishlist or looked interesting (and cheap) enough to push me into impulse buys. I'm actually really glad for that because I would probably never have gotten Defense Grid or Sanctum otherwise and they are both rather incredible games.

I've been messing around with Universe Sandbox. It's purely a simulation but it's great.

He already has that. I didn't know Civ V was only 17 bucks! Maybe I will get him that and Rome...

I haven't played it yet but I've heard people say this was good and very much like Total War. NeoCore has two other games on Steam. The Kings' Crusade and Crusaders: Thy Kingdom Come.

I ended up getting him EUIII since my brother only plays the over world sections of Total War and never does the real time battles. He just loves leading the Byzantine Empire or Ottomans to victory in the Middle Ages more then anything :p

CHANTELISE RELEASES NEXT FRIDAY.

DEMO NOW: http://www.carpefulgur.com/chantelise/
A new page bump!

Also, to as not be a completely useless bump, I should note that Care Fulgur put out a lengthy blog post on their localization process and it's an excellent read. I'm really glad that they do what they do.

Also, there's some stuff about snipers being at the ready lest they spill even a letter of a future announcement. Given that, thus far, they've worked with doujin developers in Japan and I doubt they would hire snipers, perhaps they've stuck a deal with somebody a little bit bigger? I have my speculation and I know you do too.

Well you can't go wrong there.

Awesome, I really like what those guys are doing.
Their third release, Fortune Summoners, is what really has me excited.

I'm getting Chantelise for the support factor, but I've played and beaten it in Japanese already.

I think I lost my account, have tried steam support twice now (once today once last Friday no responses so far). :(

Had this error https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3093-MKUJ-5773

Fixed my issue (happened before).

When I rebooted steam it said I was on an unfamiliar cpu, but I've only used this pc for my steam games. So it asks me for email verification. Problem is during the psn fiasco I lost the old ass yahoo email account connected to this, and despite two different tickets to steam they wouldn't help me switch email accounts. Yahoo wouldn't let me get access to the account due to the fact the "security emergency email" was from my old college I only attended for 1 year, which had shut down my account.

Do I have any chance of getting my account back? I love steam but my experience with their customer service has always been silent responses back to my issues.

Still no help from valve, anyone have any idea if I'm just permanently fucked here?

So I can take my EA games on Steam - to the Origin client; and basically have two copies of the same game (for a friend; or just in case something goes wrong with Steam)?

So has anyone gotten the Chantelise demo to work? I can get the main menu but no inputs will make the cursor move so I can't change the options or start the game. Both Keyboard and Gamepad to nothing.

Has Steam answered your support ticket? Until they do, I don't think anyone can help you.

Keep in mind that Steam has on of the slowest and worst support in the industry, a 3-5 days delay between answers is pretty normal.

Oh shit just saw the Chantelise post. MUST TRY DEMO.

Of course I'm pretty much buying this to fund their localization of Fortune Summoners which for some reason looks absolutely amazing.

But that TOS crap isn't true right? where EA will delete your stuff after months of inactivity?

It was two years, and they said they're not planning on actually doing it, it's just something they put in there for legal purposes.

I've seen some conflicting info on both sides of that issue. EA support saying that they will never delete your games but that's coming from Support which is not a good source of information regarding EA policy.

As for the EULA, it's still states that it can remove your games after a 24 months period of inactivity.

What buttons are you pressing? It works fine for me here. zxcv buttons and the arrow pad.

That is bizarre. IIRC a pretty big complaint about Recettear was that you needed to use Z for confirm and X for cancel. I figured they would have changed the keys in Chantelise.

So I had enough blue coins on Gamersgate that I bought breath of death 7 and it came with cthulhu as well, so I got it for essentially free. I think I'll check it out tomorrow.

Whats bizarre is you hold v and press left/right to move the camera. Just about gives me motion sickness mixed with the tunnel vision.

Linked my BC2 steam to the Origin. Got the Digital Deluxe Edition. But I think they did that because somehow they know I have Vietnam Expansion.

I tried those, I even went into the custom control thing and tried reassigning them, no dice. It loads the menu and just sits there. Oh well.

Did you just launch directly into the game? You can try launching the file called "Custom" which is basically the config which allows you to select keyboard or controller and to bind your keys first.

Edit: I just saw your post above so nevermind... Game worked no problems for me with the keyboard and with the Xbox 360 controller.

Never use the disks with the products you buy, go to the microsoft website and download the drivers

how long after you ordered did you receive it? I just ordered some stuff from there and am wondering how long it will take to get to me.

Played a bit of Chantelise. Default controls are unintuitive. Gamepad is probably the way to go.

Gamepad definitely. Keyboard didn't feel right to me but probably would have been better if I could assign commands to the mouse, especially attack.

Yeah attack as lclick and magic as rclick would probably improve the controls a lot.

Works great with the 360 controller. Don't even need to monkey with the settings.

Hah. Let me check my email...

Ok, guess it wasn't as long as I thought. I placed the order on 7/5. Still, that's an eternity for an Amazon Prime member.

Let us know how they work for you. Hear some people have problems and others don't. I have wired 360 pads, but would pick up a few of those receiver since I have some wireless pads from my old 360.

Hit the pause button and drag the skill on to the hot key bar.

Since i think everyone is posting their impressions of the games that they got on sale i though i would do the same since i finished one recently.

Far Cry

I only bought FarCry during the sale because it seemed interesting and the game didn't dissapoint in that regard. Far Cry is at it's best when it gives you a large open playfield allowing you to make very different choices in how to approach situations, there's nothing like gliding over a group of enemies only to jump down into the water onto a patrol boat that can be used to take them out or you could just sail away until the next encounter. I really like that freedom so it's a huge bummer when the game moves away from the jungle into narrow buildings, i didn't hate those segments but i wanted to go back to the jungle asap.
Now about the Trigens, some people really hated them making them sour on all of Far Cry. Personally i don't think they were implemented very well, the basic Trigen can kill you in 2 to 3 hits making it extremely annoying especially since you almost always fight them 2 at at a time, their jump attack killed me probably the most during my playtrough. Later Trigen species are slightly less annoying but not by much. Still even with all of that i felt trigens gave a neat dynamic to the combat, it was pretty cool watching the mercs and the Tigen fight it out, i even used that once by luring a specimen into a group of soldiers, the soldiers forgot about me for and tried to deal with their new threat instead i of course used the distraction to pick the soldiers one by one.
Yeah i liked Far Cry a lot even with that fucking final level bullshit, who the fuck thought it was a good idea to pit you against rocket wielding mutants while a bunch of Trigens shoot your ass off from a distance while jumping all over the place. To add insult to injury right after that you have to fight soldiers armed with rocket launchers, it's almost like a slap in the face after coming through all the previous combat. I wish i could say the end was worth it but the entire story was forgettable and cheesy.
So yeah in conclusion i feel the jungle levels are the best thing in Far Cry, the rest is a mixed bag and the final level is probably one of the worst i have ever played. If you are planning a playtrough anytime soon i say just skip the final level, it's not worth it.

Can someone post that fix to get Assassin's Creed/Splinter Cell Conviction working correctly on a pad? Something about them not recognizing the triggers.
