Finished up COD 1 for the first time and the game is great. It covers every WW2 movie from around 99 to 2002.

Saving Private Ryan - check.
UF71 - check.
Enemy at the Gates - check.

I was surprised at how playable it still is today. The level design is great and while it's frustrating at times, it kept me coming back for more, again and again. That's something that most games can't accomplish these days, for me at least.

Best of all it doesn't feature a love triangle involving Soap.

On to part 2. Also for the first time.

American and Russian campaigns are the best in COD1. Brits are a mixed bag but the chase scene is always a blast.

Brits in UO definitely steps it up from 1.

Can anyone give any impressions on the Alien Shooter games? Controller support?

Thanks!

I have alien shooter and alien shooter 2. I bought them in a bundle awhile back. Between the games I would just go buy Alien Shooter 2. The game adds some perk functionality over the original and an rpg upgrade system. Game is is all about destroying insane amount of enemies on each stage as there can be an almost overwhelming amount of aliens on screen at once. For $1.66 you can get a couple hours of fun out of the game, if not more if you really dig it. I had about 6 hours into Alien Shooter 2 before I took a break.

Controller support is a bit spotty. I could move with my 360 controller but not do anything else. I would plan on using a keyboard and mouse, controls work fine.

any of you guys who have played COD4 multiplayer ...have you noticed lag spikes while playing?

like the game is running totally fine, then it'll stop for a split second and then continue to be fine for a bit ...then it'll do it again.

seems that it clears up a bit the longer you're in a game.

really annoying. i don't remember that happening years ago when i used to play all the time.

Type the following in the console.

/cl_maxpackets (set it to 100 i think)

/com_maxfps 1-1000 (set it to whatever, it defaults to 80 believe it or not)

/snaps 30

/rate 25000

Man, BlOps sure is addictive, but I have to say...It doesn't really seem worth the money to me...I definitely would be kind of upset if I paid for this. Just not my kinda game. I forgot that the first 3/4 levels suck because you just get shite for guns.

Treyarch had like a year to make it so they didn't do a PC version. The game is utter shit though so don't worry about missing anything.

Oh, I've already played it, and yeah, it's nothing special at all. I was just curious as to why it never came to the PC.

I found it better than World at War. Dunno why COD3 gets such a bad rap. I only played the PS2 version though.

Multiplayer was pretty good. Fun class based gameplay with good maps.

Toss in UO and you've got Band of Brothers' Bulge/Foy parts too.

2 has some brilliant level design in the first half.

I can't remember a single set piece from the game. It was pure tedium.

Maybe it's because at the time I would have compared it to games like COD: finest hour and Medal of Honor Vanguard. I still enjoyed it though.

But World at War didn't really grab me at all. The storyline is just you getting ordered around, there's no conflict like COD3, MW2 or Black Ops.

World at War is also pretty mediocre in the campaign, I agree. Co-op saves it though.

Anyone want to trade with me for an extra game I have? I have a copy of Renegade Ops, would like to get a copy of Serious Sam: Double D. I know RO is a bit more expensive ($7.25 a copy), but it's cool. I've just been trying to find a way to offload it.

So. AMD finally decided to send me a DiRT 3 code. I have no idea if it works or not, but anyone's welcome to try. Go to http://www.AMD.com/Dirt3promo and fill out the details.

Quote to see the key. (No SNSD or other drama here.)

edit: Please do respond if you pick it up though.

I picked it up, but someone else used it already.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before, but AMD is currently gifting Deus Ex: Human Revolution to everyone who buys one of their products (in a similar way they did with Dirt 3)

Did they do it the same way with Dirt 3, though? I never looked into how that worked, but the Deus Ex page asks for a product code that you get with the hardware.

They did. I was supposed to get a code with my GPU when I bought it in June, but didn't get anything.

This isn't like the whole Dirt 3/Brazil/India thing though.

Ah I don't know whether to buy Modern Warfare 2 or not..

If I don't buy the DLC, will I still be able to find matches easily?

It's on Impulse too, depending on your region you might save money (I could save a few euros).

Not in my opinion, not because of the DLC.

The matchmaking is just awful, i gave up on it like a month ago. I used to love this game to play fast 5- 10 minute matches but OMG, ever since Blops came out it takes forever and half to find a game to play, i just dont have the patience, sometimes when it finally connects i get horrible pings :(

I rather play COD 4 with amazing pings or Battlefield BC 2 which i paid $5 for, way better games.

I have a qualifying graphics card for Deus Ex

How do I claim it? I never got any sort of code, as I bought the card in late May (but it doesn't say you had to buy the card recently).

Many times no but whats weird is after you wait the say 5-10 minutes you should have no problems getting reoccurring games. Its just odd such popular game can have a long wait for many(some say they don't have this problem). Single player should be played at least once because even with all the story controversy it was still good.

I picked up Modern Warfare 2 and I'm trying to decide between getting the Map Packs or the War Chest. I know the War Chest is the better value, but can you find mp games in mw2 without having the map packs?

Question:

I know steam has a "backup game files" option. I once backed up my TF2 files and moved them to another computer so I wouldn't have to re-download the game on that computer. I want to backup my Deus Ex: HR files to move to another computer; will it move my savegames as well? Or am I going to have to start all over again on a new computer? Thanks!

Got a question about New Vegas and Steam Cloud. I've played for about 14 hours with various numbers of saves and I checked how much Steam Cloud has stored and it hasn't stored any of my saves.(0.0mb/100mb or whatever) What do I need to do to change/fix this? The box is ticked.

I have a qualifying graphics card for this promotion (AMD Radeon HD 6870), which I bought from a qualified retailer, but I did not get a code with my purchase.

Is there a way I could scan the proof of purchase or send it in to get my game code? Or is there a program I can run on my computer that could verify that I do, indeed own a qualifying card?

Thanks,
Ned

Waiting for a reply

If they allow it, I will have gotten 130 dollars worth of free games from my AMD card.

Obsidian disabled Cloud integration with NV. Their implementation of it was causing problems with the game, so they just disabled it and never re-enabled it I believe.
