Nope! Steam rejected it after a lengthy discussion (according to their correspondent). Basically they are saying that since they are big enough to get into trouble with making fun of all the big names like McDonald's, Wall E and Jack Thompson, they'll need to have me dumb down all my sensitive content, but that if I dumbed down the content, the game would lose its 'soul'. Impulse and many other distributors have signed with me though, and the game will be up in a couple of months

First time EU player here, is it worthwhile to create a Paradox account to tie to my copy of EU3?

And since I purchased EU3 Chronicles, are the sprite packs worth pickling up?

Yes, absolutely. It allows you to grab the latest beta patch from the Europa Universalis III > Tech Support subforum. You definitely want that.

I would have bet money that it would have. The legal implications are crystal clear. Valve would look a bit idiotic if one of the companies approached them about it.

I mean mods that are completely free have been shutdown by Fox, Lucasarts, etc.

Has there ever been a case like this before? I can't really think of any games on Steam that poke fun at big companies, or any games in general that do it to this extent at least.

I'm think that Space Pirates and Zombies will be released o Steam once they get a final version, Steam doesn't like "betas".

It's a terrible game. One of the worst I've ever come across. Steam made the right call.

Anyone notice how odd daily deal and package price sometimes not counting each other?

For instance, today's deal (Peggle) is not counted in its complete package, yet Civ4 is counted in its complete package.

If the game was to be put up on Steam i still wouldn't buy it as it doesn't seem like something I would be interested in, having said that I would like the Devs to get some money.

Yeah, I thought the trailer looked god awful. If you want a good, snarky RPG there's Penny Arcade Adventures, which are on Steam.

Why? The game looks stupid, and I honestly don't see what anyone is seeing in that damn trailer. It's a game basically living off of its thinly veiled ventures into violating IP law and calling that "character design". Doesn't look interesting in the least.

Luckily for them they only sold 400 copies, so it is unlikely any company will notice the violation of IP laws and sue them.

I'll look into doing that this weekend, which is what I think I'll need to set a bit aside of to go through the tutorials.

Edit: Just skimming through Paradox's catalogue on Steam I think I'll simply buy the entire catalogue during the next sale rather than buy many of their games piecemeal. I already own Magicka, the Mount & Blade games, now Europa Universalis 3. I could easily buy the Penumbra and Hearts of Iron series.

i'm still with Steam support on an issue i have on my mac (can't run the Steam application) for the last 3 months. in that they:

1. they answered the wrong issue.
2. they've asked me to do the same thing 3 times.
3. they've asked me to do another thing 3 times.
4. some answers weren't even remotely close to the questions.

I really don't know what to do about this. help?

This is sketchy, downloaded with patches today and totally broke Hamilton's Great Adventure in the process. I suspect it is secret sale prep as Valve know's Window's users don't know how to find these folder type things.

I'll be going to work today and won't be able to check to see about steam deals till 3pm est or so.

I still think it'll happen this week. Daily deals negating the summer sale is fucking stupid though.

Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 will satisfy me for a while. I don't need the sale.

I can't think of that much I want; will just wait to see what others are excited about buying.

Actually I'm still looking into this but it seems TestApp45790 is DLC for the Transformers game 'War for Cybertron'

Gonna see what the other are now.

Have you tried deleting the ClientRegistry.blob file in your Steam directory? Also, welcome to NeoGAF!

Yes i have tried that and that works for my windows user but then i run it on my brothers user and it "updates" again then im back to square one.

Yes! War for Cybertron is the one game I hope will go on sale. I already have it on the PS3 but the screen tearing and jaggies are horrendous.

I think it's for another app, not War for Cybertron, because it says DLC for AppID 45760, and War for Cybertron is 4576 (missing a 0).

45760 in the registry is another TestApp, so it looks like an unreleased game:
