The only thing I hear is that they have beef with the low resolution. I think it adds to the charm. Very Sierra golden-age.

It's a very good game too!
Odd. What about all the other adventure games with low resolution and dosbox emulators build in? Really too bad. Hopefully they'll come to an agreement.

I was wondering where that went.

Holy crap, I haven't seen that gif in years!

There was a bigger version, IIRC, but it got lost with time as somebody repurposed it for their avatar.

What resolution does it run at? This would be a pretty inconsistent policy considering they have a ton of games that run at incredibly low resolutions (most of them are old of course, like Fallouts, Xcoms, etc.) I seem to recall Machinarium runs at a pretty low resolution as well.

Does anyone know where the gif is originally from? I swear I know the guy in it.

There must be more to it than the resolution. I like that Steam doesn't let any old crap on, but there's a fuckton of crap on it regardless. For the game to get such praise it's most definitely worthy of being on Steam regardless of resolution.

That and when you first sign in to the client if you have to reinstall GFWL sometimes it requires you to restart the game/client 6 or 7 times before you can successfully log in.

But still, compared to a lot of the crap out there, I don't find GFWL to be that much of a hassle. It certainly doesn't impact my purchases at all, and in some cases it actually enhances a game experience (being able to communicate with XBL people when playing a PC game is cool, for example).
I had severe issues when I first started using GFWL. I got caught in an infinite update cycle when I tried to play Shadowrun. But it has been smooth sailing ever since that and I've played most of the GFWL titles.
I'm one of the small minority that actually likes the thing. I have a lot of friends on XBL and I'm a total achievement whore. Steam achievements are a pale imitation of the real thing for me.

Those are a product of their time. I don't see any excuse for modern indie games to be made at such low resolution *glares in the general direction of Nightsky which was only added because of some bullshit Indie thing it won despite being 240fuckingP*

So it's sort of like a FPS variant of the blitz mode from Monday Night Combat, from what I can gather? Looks interesting, though I don't know how I feel about it only supporting two players in co-op.
It seems more like Iron Grip to me, which is a boss tower defense FPS that even people who hate tower defense games enjoy and supports up to something like 8 players.

They were saying that they wanted 4-player support, but it's been a month of two so I have no idea when that's coming in.

I still really enjoy the game. Typing to your partner in type spits out your words in the Microsoft Sam voice so saying "shit shit shit gliders in base" in his voice just sounds hilarious. Plus, there is a lot of depth to tower placement etc.

I wonder what's happening with that big patch they promised for Iron Grip, was really looking forward to the new maps and better resolution support.

Now that I went back and reread this, what's up with that Clash of Heroes listing? Isn't that the DS/XBL/PSN puzzle game? It's brilliant and I've been waiting for a PC port for ages.

Will double dip for this if true.

Blue Toad is too expensive (relatively) for me to bite on that unless someone has some really great praise for it. Never heard of it before but it looks kinda cool and I do like adventure games... but eh.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. I will be making a sacrifice to the Steam Gods tonight.

Today, I will play something in my library.
