Every time Civ 5 goes on sale I'm tempted. But then I remember I bought the Civ4 entire pack on sale and I've barely played it like 30 minutes since that weekend.

I don't have time for Civ games :/
Civ5 introduced 'quicky' games that aren't as involved. I love it, but then again I've only played about an hour in the last six months I've owned it.

You can get Alienware to give you the key, but Steam does not accept it until you activate the game.
I did just that. Planning to pick it up soonish, as long as I can still find it around ~$20 when the funds to spare come.

Sheesh, the NBA thread is serious business. Besides, nothing wrong with loving cock-steam, it's a natural byproduct of pissing on cold days.

Ignore my haters. It stands for Captain. Blackace sought to promote me to Captain of NBA-GAF AKA BEST-GAF. Kado and his minions are just jealous. Clovingsteam = Captainlovingsteam. Neverforget.

That's right! You tell 'em Captain.

Anywho, STORM: Frontline Nation is pretty good. It's a bit like the bastard child of Risk and Panzer General. I'd say it's worth $10.

Yes you do, you just don't know it, not until you sit down and play a game of Civ 5. You keep going for just one more turn until your eyes hurt and you look over and see it's 4 in the morning.

Okay, say I'm not really into racing games that much. The last car games I enjoyed were Burnout 3 and Midnight Club: Los Angeles. I played around with them, but didn't really "dive in". Which of the games that are on the weekend sale might be a good pickup for me? Computer power isn't a factor, I can handle any of them fine.

Captain is just hard work and pressure, MVP is where the real perks are.

Good news:

Yesterday we fixed the issue where, if you had HL2, bought the Orange Box, and then bought the Valve Complete Pack, you would only get 1 Extra Copy of HL2/EP1, instead of the 2 you're supposed to. So that would be a case where it's totally legitimate for you to have received an extra copy. (For those wondering why we would change this now, it's because the code changes are required to start enabling users to buy multiple 4-packs, or 4-packs as gifts, which we hope to start doing soon).

If you don't meet the above scenario, and you still got a surprise Extra Copy, PM me with your Steam account name or email address and I'll work out what's going on. In any case, this is our issue, your account is not in danger. Thanks.

I'm just going to surface here for a second to say:
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is absolutely fantastic. I adore it.

Engine is a bit dated but the art direction is masterful and the game is a serious joy to play. I hope this is a taste of things to come on Thief 4.

edit: ending is a letdown though, Yahtzee is right about that.

In what ways is Shift 1 better then 2? I've never heard anyone claim that before now.
I loved shift 1 but shift 2 irritated me.

Shift 1 (xbox 360 for both versions, mind you) had noticeably better graphics, AI was more consistant, and the race rewards were more engaging. Going through the campaign mode of Shift 2 feels like a serious chore where Shift 1 I had a lot of fun.

Also fuck that driver look feature. It absolutely destroys my mental model of the car which makes it impossible for me to race with any degree of control.

The single player in The Cartel is absolutely shiet, but the MP is surprisingly good. It has this buddy system and encourages teamwork and to stick with your buddy. If your close to your buddy you get a buff, there are diffrent buffs you can chose from. You also get ammo when you run out if your next to your buddy.

The downside to the MP is no dedicated servers and the shitty lobby that is the equivalent to Playstation Home.

SP i will give a 5 out of 10, the MP i will give an 8 of 10.

Edit: Downgrading this to a 6.5 out of 10. The game doesn't have random spawns and you can spawn camp.

Rubberbanding isn't an issue in Hot Pursuit. It's a game about Car Chases and there is no fun if your pursuers aren't always on your tail. If you could just blow them in the dust and drive calmly through the events the game would be boring as hell.

If he isn't gonna be playing with friends and it's just gonna be a singleplayer experience, I think he is making the right decision.

Yup, those were my exact thoughts as well. Steam Sales have really made me reconsider my "what the hell it'll be good for a 30 min run on a lazy Sunday" purchases. Now I get to spend less and still only spend 30 min or less on such things =)

Edmund needs to stop tinkering, he wil never finish the game at this rate.

I kinda envy him, i mean everyone should. The dude just started adding more shit to the game lately and he's just gonna release it whenever he feels its done. He's said it was done a bunch of times and decided to add more endings/items/etc. I can totally wait if it means a bigger game, specially in the randomization aspect, since supposedly a full playthrough of the game lasts about 45 minutes.

Steam is telling me I need to download the new update even though I did it 2 days ago. Anyone else getting this weird issue? Don't know why it reverted back.

True, but it can get really infuriating in HP. They stick to your ass like glue and are right back in it 1 second after crashing. Gets a bit tedious and ridiculous in later races.

I interviewed Edmund about two weeks ago about The Binding of Issac he mentioned that the stuff being added isn't really making the game larger, it is making the game deeper however, it is mostly subtle nuance stuff that a lot of people will not notice.
