I'm confused.. I bought a GTX570 about two months ago. Is there any way I can get in on that deal? I don't know where to find a coupon code.

No. The promotion is for cards purchased at select etailers on or after Sept 8.

whenever a game is included with a GPU, it's almost always a bundle, ie when you order it online, you add the coupon card for it to your order, or it comes inside with your video card, or the retailer you bought it from emails you.

it's almost never, if you own x card you automatically get it. i just tried to get deus ex HR free by emailing the retailer because i bought it about 2 weeks before the promo and they said no :(

Fuck that's cheap. JUST HOOK IT TO MY VEINS GMG!

An update on this, its $34 (25% off) for US and 40% off for UK due to regional pricing over there. Still Sega will charge like 89.99 for us Aussies like they did with FM2011. Still a bargain!

wouldn't buy it but if you do its a steamworks game so you may aswell buy retail for £7.99

hot pursuit could be had for £4.15 a while back at retail too, that's where i got mine

Damn, I just ordered a new PC from I Buy Power. Doesn't look like they're a participating store. :(

I would trade in the Dungeon Seige 3 and Just Cause 2 codes for Arkham City.

Edit: Hmmm... Just saw they're offering it as well. I may email them and see what I can get.

I tried to fire up DA:O Ultimate just now, but i got a message saying "Steam needs convert this to a new, more efficient format".

Hopefully this doesn't f-it up.

WTF, game showed up as uninstalled today, it says its downloading, but i guess since the files are there, its doing some kind of check. Argh...

Out of the NFS games, which one would be the best for me to get.

Finished up my 2nd Deus Ex playthrough, back to DSIII and ME.

If it is in the download tab it might try to download it. Verify the cache or try restarting or something unless you can download 23GB in a minute flat with no bandwidth caps. Steam doesn't even really check unless you ask it to or if an update is being pushed. Doubt DA:O is getting patched.

Tried restarting, and can't verify cache of a game that it thinks is not installed. The download speed was showing 0 bytes/s but the filesize was increasing by alot. I stopped that and now i'm trying this: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=24921661&postcount=4 which another user posted should work.

Depends.

Do you know what you are getting into? If yes, buy it. It's great.

Yes

Even just for this.

* Free DLC for life (maps, weapons and any future weapons)
* Community maps
* 2 Official total conversion mods coming within 6 months of launch (In the Country: Vietnam, Rising Storm (Pacific mod))

If you're planning to buy one of the big two (BF3 or MW3) in the next couple of months it's probably not worth it. You'll get it cheaper at Christmas if you still want it then. The community might be minimal at that time though.

I am planning to buy Battlefield 3, but I've been wanting to play a good WW game, so I already bought RO, hope it's worth it.

Is RO worth it for single player alone?

There's no way to know...but probably not.

GetGamesGo

It's got a few issues at the moment (performance on some systems being the biggest issue), but the developers are working very hard to fix them. RO2 is probably the best multiplayer shooter I've played in a very long time. I would also venture to say it has the best maps I've seen since Counter-Strike. The map design really stands out in the sea of typical Call of Duty and Battlefield trash we've been getting lately (BF is fun, but their maps are really not very good).

And whoa, I'm keeping that site in my bookmarks. Very nice prices. Legit too...seems like it's owned by Eurogamer.

If you absolutely can't wait then go for it. But it is buggy as shit, runs like a dog and while fantastic fune can be utterly devoid of hit reg when you need it most.

In short: Your typical PC exclusive.

Isn't that based on the beta alone? I guess that's what it is for, fixing stuff before the final release IMHO.
And I finally decided to pull the trigger when it went from $27 (GMG) to $24 (GetGames), and the fact that I really wanted a good WW FPS. So I think I will get my money's worth.

Well the full game releases in 4 days, so I'm sure it's still going to be a tad unpolished at launch. Still, these guys have a great track record and you can expect a ton of updated over the life of the game, so you'll still more than get your money's worth out of your purchase. Not everyone is having performance issues either...you might be okay. I think they've reported that the 6xxx series and GTX 5xx series are performing not as well as they should.

Aye my 580, which is apparently capable of running Battlefield 3 with every bell and whistle, is struggling to maintain 60 frames on a 64 player server with a bit of action going on.

i think $24 for such a good game with so much potential is worth a tip really.
and it offers something different from all the BF3/MW3 that's coming out

Killing Floor is still being support by Tripwire(And it was a smaller effort than RO2 was). Killing Floor came out in 2009. With any sort of gameplay content released for free. Similar to TF2, the game has exponential grew in size. They also lined up two mod teams to develop completely new takes on the game too(Either free releases or pay expansions). One will deal with the Pacific Front another is the Vietnam War.

More or less likely, RO2 will be no different. Expect lots of fixing and patching, great mod support, and in general an invest that will be support for years. While BF3 will be replaced by BF4 or BC3 since EA is fast tracking them on the 2 year plan.

It is your classical PC release.

On buying it: You are getting it for 24$. It will most likely be under that by next year Summer Sale and not until then. You are already getting off 16$ from it. And to be blunt, Tripwire is one of the few developers who you can count on to support their title.

Ok, it seems the problem I have is worst than I thought.

I can't install games anymore, Steam tells me the servers are too busy and that i should try installing them later... I've been waiting all day and I still can't install a thing.

I searched online and the only real solution I found (and that I haven't tried already) is uninstalling Steam and installing it again. The thing is that I'm not sure how to do this without losing all my game files.

Can I manually backup my steam folder? or do I have to do it through Steam? Any recommendation is welcome. I'm going to do it in the morning thought, I need to sleep now.

Did you try deleting clientregistry.blob and restarting your computer?

Anyway, just copy your steamapps folder and put it on your desktop or something, and then reinstall steam and copy it back in. Easy peasy.

In UT3, how do you know who's a bot and who's a player? I dont see any ping info on the player list..

Also, UT3 or UT2k4? UT3 is deathly boring. I had a ton of fun with UT2K4 though. But Im afraid that might be nostalgia talking...and nostalgia has cost me a bit of money before.

UT2k4, of course. UT3 is terrible.

Edit: UT99 is handily the best of the lot, however.

Hot Pursuit seems like it might be kind of neat, but I can't get farther than 30 seconds into my first race without the game crashing hard.

Hooray for unexpected Bank activity. Now I can purchase Hot Pursuit.

Anybody want to be friends so we can compare times and maybe even race together ?

Sure add me - kafiend. I just bought it this week too and will put some time into it.
Be warned though as by nature I'm not the most social person. The only person on my friend list is the guy I won Portal from on Steamgifts...
