Hearts of Iron III is discounted at -75% now. Pretty sure it was only -50% yesterday. It's not explicitly mentioned as a daily deal though. What should I do?

Was just looking through the Paradox pack and Penumbra looks sweet! (I have never heard of it before) Its like Amnesia meets Myst, or not. I will probably pick it up on sunday if it isn't a daily.

Yeah, I'm thinking of picking up the Penumbra 2 pack.

I swear I'll get back to Amnesia! It's just too scary :(.

How is Republic Commando? I always wanted to try it but never got around to it. I'll probably just impulse buy it because $5 seems to be my magic number. Still, I'd take opinions on it.

Weird that kotor 1 is up on steam yet kotor 2 isn't. I would love to replay it with the complete patches but alas, it wasn't meant to be.

I hear you. Never played this one either and would like the chance to. May just suck it up and buy it on disc.

I wish kotor 2 was, I would like to replay it as well. I am hoping we will get it eventually.

It's great. Can best be described as Star Wars meets Rainbow 6 Vegas. Graphics are a bit dated, but it runs in widescreen with a .ini edit, not sure if you can modify the FOV which feels a bit confined.

It's a shitty port anyway. Framerate is capped at 30fps and I believe the install size is like 22gb.

Pretty sure the cap was removed with a patch, if not, you can unlock it manually, I believe. It's otherwise a solid well optimized port, in my experience.

Awesome! I didn't even know Sengoku was coming out today! I love me some Paradox strategy games. Bought!

Still pissed I can't get Riddick to run on my laptop (DV6t). Weird, because I don't have a single problem running Amnesia.

Thinking about hearts of iron III since it's only $5. I heard it's one of the most complex games ever...how complex are we talking here?

Ball bustingly complex. Those games are more complex than the most complex games in terms of strategy that you can possibly think of.

I found Europa Universalis to be very complex as well but a lot easier to get into, if you might want to wait for a sale on that.

There is a demo: http://www.gamershell.com/news_81436.html

Also, apparently going in reverse chronological order for Paradox titles is supposed to make it less complex (which makes sense). So it should be HoI3 > Victoria II > EU3 (EU:Rome falls under this category). CK2, Sengoku, Rome are sorta similar (more focus on dynasties or characters rather than the state/realm).

You might also want to try EU3's demo to see if you are up for it. I tried the Vicky 2 demo and it seemed much more complex (you have alot more control over what your industries produce it seems - someone can correct me), so HOI3 probably increases that complexity since you also have to fight WW2 and stuff and have to probably have more things to micromanage.

Maybe today. I don't think I've seen EU3 (Chronicles) be cheaper than 75%.

Lost all credibility.
I'm really getting into Medal of Honor: Airborne. I love how the levels are designed. Each of them is like this giant warzone with objectives spread out around it and you can choose to tackle them in whatever order you want. They encourage this too by having it so at the start of the level (and whenever you die) you spawn in by parachute and can aim yourself to land at whatever section you choose.

FUCK I missed Magic. :( After getting into card games on the iPad (Ascension, Kard Combat) lately, I really wanted to try out MTG.

Yeah, actually it is 75% off right now. Nice price point. Go buy it if you are interested! (to the one I quoted before)

I bought EU3 complete back when they had a sale on that about a month ago or so, haven't really got into it yet because of the backlog. I like complex but they pretty much need my undivided attention or I'll start them, stop for something else and never touch them again.

I think I'll get it anyway, maybe start it tonight if I'm feeling ballsy.

So friend bought new Nvidia card and got a code for Batman: Arkham City ... It activates via steam :D
Cheaper and easier to give a code out for Steam, than it is a retail disc or GFW.

Y U dont let me buy just the force unleashed games on the cheap
Just stick with Jedi Knight II and Academy.

If you just want the novelty of the new ones, only 1.

I already have the Jedi Knight pack and KOTOR, so that pack isn't worth it for me. The Force Unleashed games are worth nothing so that's like $50 for Empire at War, Battlefront and Republic Commando.

edit - oh gross, there's a Clone Wars game in there too
