Oh shit guys, I completely confused Brothers in Arms with Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. :lol Sorry, move on!
Hah! I got suspicious for a second there when I thought you branded Hell's Highway as a FPS.

In the case of CoJ, the first game isn't much better, but it isn't nearly as bland and shitty as Bound in Blood. I could actually finish the first one!

I really want to like BiB though. It's got a western setting, some relatively sweet visuals and cheesy dialogue but the weaponhandling is just atrocious. Honestly, I enjoyed GUN way more.

I did too, but too many problems were carried over from the original. Needlessly annoying mission design mainly. You could try the demo for CoJ to see how it plays (I felt it's better), it's from a weapon-heavy part of the game. 50% of the game consists of "hide-or-die" stealth missions though.

Or you could go with the best option which is dig up an old copy of Outlaws.

Anyone cancelled a pre-order before?

I opened a Steam ticket requesting a cancel but the game comes out on Friday. Did I leave it too late? If not, how long does it usually take?

Cheers.

Don't nobody say a bad thing about GUN! GUN was awesome for its time. The only shitty part really was that you had to travel back and forth between areas with nothing much in between except maybe one or two bandits. Also, the final boss encounter was ridiculous. Still, what a great game.

This is why GoG needs to sign LucasArts. I also hope that Turtle Rocks website redesign is an indication what setting their next game will have.

Oh I agree on all points. Really underrated game IMO. Hoping for a Steam deal before I tackle another playthrough, I have no idea where I left my copy.

Do we have any info on Bunch of Heroes?

http://store.steampowered.com/app/111400/

Game unlocks in 3 hours, and we have no price or much info on the title. Will there be a 4 pack? What type of game is this? More towards campaign co op or horde style battling?

Hopefully we get a demo today with the release but I'm doubting we'll see one.

holy shit Impulse is a terrible digital download service.

two nights ago i bought Duke Nukem Forever off there for $10.

i was instantly charged, but it took 40 minutes to get the code ...no confirmation email, etc, which is pathetic since when you buy stuff from Steam, Direct2Drive, Origin, your game shows up immediately.

anyway, before my code finally arrived, i sent them an email asking what the problem was, since typically you're supposed to get your game immdiately after purchase (at least from everywhere else).

finally they replied ...2 days later. just wow.

its a good thing that my Duke Nukem code arrived 40mins after purchase, because it would be really poor having to wait 2 days for help.

absolutely ridiculous. never again. they deserve to sink, because their forums are filled with similar situations.

Steam doesn't really give it any extra functionality, except more DRM on top of already shitty DRM.

Game sucks anyway.

you get the nice little picture of the game in your Steam library, tho, rather than an ugly ass shortcut.

which is preferable, imo. but in some cases i can overlook that.

Implying I care about any of that, all I need to know is that it's cheap and will be in my Steam library.

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.
Today's deal is KrissX (I swear there is a pornstar with that name). 50% off or $2.50.

I always enjoy seeing daily deals for games I didn't even know were on Steam, let alone existed at all.

OMG 40 minutes. Glad you survived the ordeal.

They probably had more than expected volume for the sale and got backed up. I sure am glad Steam never runs out of game keys during sales, and that their customer service is so stellar and prompt.

I guess that's true.

I didn't imply anything, but whatever.

Goddammit, why did I have to search. I don't want to know what porn you look at.

i originally thought that it might have been network congestion, or something, but when various people had been lighting up their forums with similiar issues, on different dates with different games, i know it wasn't due to the sale of Duke Nukem. especially when i've been through so many big Steam sales and never had a problem like that.

another guy on here said he waited 2 hours before getting his code ...no confirmation email, etc.

and like i said, if i didn't figure it out for myself and get the code 40 mins later, i would have had to wait 2 days for any kind of help ...not nescessarily a resolution to the issue.

since its a commonplace issue, i have no intention of using their service anymore.

if you find shabby and slow service like that okay, then have at er and enjoy the ride.

Oh man, is there an actual pornstar with that name? I was just joking!

I'll have to... research... this later.

Eh, I don't really care one way or the other. I just found your reaction a bit dramatic.

Dude, no. I'm not sure what KrissX actually is. But searching "KrissX porn" was the worst idea I had today. It's 100% dick.

Just saw the FTP RPG 'Rusty Hearts' on Steam, anyone have any experience with it?
I played the closed beta and really enjoyed it to be honest. It's like an mmo hack and slasher.

Mirror's Edge is acting odd for me. I get a solid 62 FPS, and then suddenly things will drop down to 14 FPS. This happens during chase seems, but even if there are no actual enemies on screen.

edit: Apparently it is an ATI card problem with PhysX enabled.

I'm at level 6 so far. I'm enjoying it but it's starting to feel a bit repetitive. But still, levels 1-10 in most MMO's are sort of the "training" period and then it gets more interesting/complex after that. Hoping that happens with this game. Plus I'm playing solo so there's that to consider.

One thing I like is that the game doesn't really feel limiting at all like most free-to-play MMO's. I looked at the cash shop other than an "xp boost" item, most everything seemed to be solely cosmetic.

I actually think it's fun. It never really gets a "higher level"--the concept at the end of the game is exactly the same as the concept at the beginning (and I've played 100+ levels) but as a sort of 10 minutes here and there distraction it's fun. I played on XBLA and got 200/200, not sure if the Steam version has the same content and achievements. I don't think I'd replay it.

Like, in depth, it's better to compare it to a word search than a crossword, if you know what I mean.

Yeah, ATI cards with PhysX is like an instakill of FPS for me. Is there any workaround or are we boned?

are they the cheapest at 11.99?

I think so. Steam, Direct2Drive and Gamersgate are more expensive and I can't buy it from Impulse since I'm in Europe. So yeah, either GetGames or GreenManGaming would be the way to go.
