I'm considering Witcher 2. Should I buy now or is there a chance for a deal with the first game any time soon?

if u have the dough to spare, get it! (and the time to play)
else i think the Winter Sales might do something, or when Update 2.0 comes

I wouldn't be surprised to see it go on sale when they launch 2.0.

those megadrive games made my total steam games go over 200:

feels good man.

I hit 400 games approximately 2 weeks ago and I'm already approaching 500. At this point, Steam and Amazon UK are eating through my money at an equal pace: I've been saving for a PC upgrade since June/July and I have only $400 in the account. :p Fortunately, Amazon UK will be ending their free shipping to Australia offer in a week. But it'll be back. With a vengeance.

Edit: And to think it wasn't until the Christmas sale of 2009 that my Steam library expanded beyond BioShock and the Half-Life games and its derivatives (CS, DoD, etc.)

Damn I used to laugh about people with there crazy steam collections, but now I'm almost afraid to log into steam after work because I know I'll just end up buying another game :(

witcher 2 has been like $18 on cd-key (steam) seller sites for a while now.

i know some people don't like those sites but worth mentioning i guess. the price has been dropping constantly.

$40 for both seems like it'll be the best you'll get on them for some time.

It's going to be $30 during the week of 2.0's release on GoG. I'd get it then ..

From GoG.com
The best RPG of 2011 is about to get even better, and we're doing a few things to colebrate. For one, we're dropping the price of The Witcher 2 permanently, starting right now. From now on, CD Projekt RED's award-winning game of 2011 is $39.99 USD! Of course if you live in UK, the Eurozone, or Australia, the price will also drop for you, respectively by £5.00, €10.00 and $10 AUD. It still means we're offering the 'Fair Price Package' to European and Australian customers to make up for the USD price difference. Also aside of today's price drop, next Thursday (September 29) when the highly anticipated "version 2.0" arrives, we'll launch a 25% off promo on The Witcher 2, which will make this awesome offer even better as you'll be able to grab the game for only $29.99 USD!

So, what are the Genesis recommended games? I was a Nintendo kid, and only remember Altered Beast from the arcade (I used to love that game).

Let me show you through these halls, my friend, where treasures of indie gaming await...
Opinions on the daily deal "Lucid"?

How good is Shogun 2 compared to the earlier instalments in the series? I've only played Medieval 2 before so thinking of getting the entire TW pack.

I really like Alex Kidd, Alien Storm, Altered Beast, Columns III, Flicky, Golden Axe II, Gunstar Heroes, Kid Chameleon, Landstalker, Shining Force II and Streets of Rage 2 out of those on offer in the sale. At least try Kid Chameleon. It's a great platformer with a neat system of "jobs" that are obtained through hats. The controls were always a little more floaty that I'd want, but I think that's just me laying expectations on the game that I probably have no right to.

I would vouch for Sonic 2, Comix Zone, and Gunstar Heroes. Stay the fuck away from Ecco.

I only have the first COH and im sticking with it. Backlog be damned.
Get at least Opposing Fronts.
Get Tales of Valor if you want to do some MP.
Also, even if you just have the first one, you still have to install everything :p

The club. Any good.

It's not bad if you like fast paced arcadey type games. It has a scoring system that multiplies with each kill and gives points for style kills and what not. A bit similar to what Bulletstorm did a few years later.

It has a long and meaty tournament-style campaign, multiple characters that play differently, cool weapons. It runs well and doesn't look too bad. It was developed by Bizzare, I believe.

Also GFWL, so again, be weary if that's a deal breaker for ya.

I'll second the Kid Chameleon recommendation, one of my favorite platformers. Some truly fiendish level design.

Landstalkers - a fantastic Zelda like game. Has amazing dungeons and a lush overworld filled with secrets. It takes a bit to get used to the isometric controls, but it is very, very worth it. I may like it better than Link to the Past, which I know is sacrilege.

Shining in the Darkness - a fantastic and simple dungeon crawl with great music and graphic design.

Shining Force games - if you like tactical RPGs like Final Fantasy Tactics, this is the grandfather of that genre.

Gunstar Heroes - a crazy fast paced shooter from the makers of Contra 3 Alien Wars (Treasure Soft). It may seem a little goofy and lacking in smoothness at first, but stick with it. It has very inventive level design.

Make sure you set the aspect ratio and turn off the filters. Also, it is great that all these games feature instant saving, which makes them a lot less of a pain to play than they were back in the day.

:lol just when I sent a Steam Support ticket. Oh well, works now!
I sent them an email right when the tweets started coming in, 15mins later it was fixed.

Gotta say, our entire experience working w/ Valve on Steam for Clash and other projects has been so good. Those guys have such great support for devs. It's amazing.

What is the patching situation like for the Steam version of CoH? I remember it taking almost a full day to patch CoH + OF about a year ago... does the Steam version do all the updates at once for you?

Man, it's been nearly a decade since I caught my last Sega Bass. It's not the same without the rod controller, but it's good to have it in my collection again. Sega should have released Marine Fishing instead, though.

Really glad to hear this. I hope this does well and you'll support the platform with future titles ;)

Ah, fuck it, I think I'll bite on Shogun 2 if I find a willing Brit, seeing as it's cheapest in the UK.

That's still there as far as I know. It was like that, last patch. (2.6) I don't know how to check if it's been moved to the "new" content system though, or if it can. I believe you get ALL the updates in one go, instead of patch -> login -> oh new patch. I could be wrong, I've only had it before and after 2.6.
