Hydrophobia for £2.25, it worth picking up just to tide me over till the Sale actually starts?
See several pages back for various impressions. Lots of reviews and people didn't like it. I thought it was okay for a bargain bin price. There are some interesting elements at least. It's a 5GB download so it may or may not 'tide you over" if the sale starts in a few hours.GazzaScotland said:Hydrophobia for £2.25, it worth picking up just to tide me over till the Sale actually starts?

Really? I only searched briefly, but the most recent sale that came up was midweek Darkspore like two weeks ago, and this site says 4pm PDT:LovingSteam said:Guys, the midweek for quite some time has ended at 10PST. I wouldn't count on basing any hope on that.

LiquidMetal14 said:I never thought I would share my specs with so many. I know this is just 1 forum but here alone I've seen more than a handful of folks with exactly the same spec. Minus the RAM of course as I went with GSKILL RAM (OC'd to PC10700 according to CPUZ).
Campster said:No one knows. Generally speaking you get somewhere between 20% to 80% off of almost every game in the store, and big savings on publisher and indie bundles that might go for $40-$80 but contain an entire publisher's catalog. Depending on whether you're looking to go with a huge bundle or only focus on the specific games you want will really drive how many individual games you can get with $100.
LovingSteam said:hmm, I could have sworn it was 10PST. We shall see.
You are looking for specific games? I just grab whatever looks nice and has a big number behind the percentage sign...snoopeasystreet said:The sale better be today. Looking for Mafia 2, Cargo and Oblivion on the cheap.

Think about what you just said. You are buying a 3$ game to tide you over for the next two hours, so you can spend more money. Heh.GazzaScotland said:Hydrophobia for £2.25, it worth picking up just to tide me over till the Sale actually starts?
Visualante said:Why are you people using Steam wallet :/
It offers no benefit
The main reason I'm doing it is so I don't have 23 tiny transactions on my credit card. It would really suck if TF2 went on sale for $15, 2-hour sale only, and my account was disabled due to fraud detection for days.Visualante said:Why are you people using Steam wallet :/

LovingSteam said:1) Don't have to deal with Paypal
2) Don't have to have your CC rejected by Valve during the sale
3) Put in the amount you will spend so its more likely you won't go over
4) Its easy
5) Use a combination of credit card/checking account instead of having everything on one or the other
Yea, there are benefits
TF2 is free :xBlizzard said:The main reason I'm doing it is so I don't have 23 tiny transactions on my credit card. It would really suck if TF2 went on sale for $15, 2-hour sale only, and my account was disabled due to fraud detection for days.
Yeah, it was a bad joke and I've owned TF2 for like 19 years now.balladofwindfishes said:TF2 is free :x

I have $40 for the summer sale, and that should get me plenty of games until the next sale. Remember a lot of this stuff will be on sale later on this year, so it's not necessary to go nuts.

8) Tempts you to buy TF2 items with leftover cash
I LOVE paypal. It charges my CC in my local currency, which means I don't have to pay the "international purchase" government tax. Never had a problem with the service. (I know of the horror stories, you people don't need to jump at my throat).LovingSteam said:1) Don't have to deal with Paypal
My CC was never rejected on Valve because my bank is not fucking insane. It doesn't block me from making a purchase a day.LovingSteam said:2) Don't have to have your CC rejected by Valve during the sale
I don't have a limit! Living on the edge, baby!LovingSteam said:3) Put in the amount you will spend so its more likely you won't go over
Adding an extra step to my schedule = not that easy. I guess not having to input the paypal password every time would be easier, but still.LovingSteam said:4) Its easy
You can directly send money to Steam Wallet using your checking account? It's probably a US only feature, but that's nice. Except you won't get any CC Points for doing that, so you can't trade those points for something useless next year...LovingSteam said:5) Use a combination of credit card/checking account instead of having everything on one or the other
Not for everybody there isn't.LovingSteam said:Yea, there are benefits

Yeah, $100 is enough to get you a couple newer big release games on sale, plus a bunch of cheap stuff. Stuff released in the last year and a half or so for $5-7 and smaller games like Magicka and Super Meat Boy for $3 or so(just examples).darkwing said:ahh i get it now, this is my first Steam Summer Sale, so excited

haha, $100 is a lot actually. Can't imagine you would be disappointed with what you can get for that amount.
