Yeah I'm supposed to get my RAM back on Monday so I'll finally be able to play my 30ish sale games I picked up. I've been stuck with an ancient relatively useless laptop for over 2 weeks, can't even play bloodlines :(

It's horrible, isn't it?

From a quad core, 8gb RAM PC with a 2048x1152 monitor to a shitty 1.xghz, 1gb RAM laptop with a 1024x768 resolution. It even makes browsing GAF a pain.

I'm seriously pumped to get on all of the games I bought, though. It was literally the worst time to lose your gaming PC!

Wow that's exactly the same specs my shitty laptop is too, so we both know the pain. I've wanted to chuck this thing out the window so many times but I figure being able to (barely) use the internet is better than nothing :lol

This is literally pretty much why I bought Railworks 2. People make fun of it for the DLC, I don't like DLC, I haven't bought Railworks DLC, and I don't plan to...but I thought it was cool that they just gave the existing customers the new version as well as the old version, plus the price might not have been bad, so I picked it up. And now it looks like I'll get the upgrade!

I thought there was another Train Simulator game that wasn't Railworks though, so that is a bit of confusing branding.

*edit* Earlier poster seems correct, here's the Microsoft logo: http://www.rstools.info/images/msts.jpg I wonder why they would use such a similar font etc.

My DirectX install is the most current and my .NET Framework is as well. You may stop trying to reinstall them everytime I start a new game.

That's partially the fault of DirectX and .Net Framework.

These "reinstalls" ensure proper installations. It's important that they're run.

If I recall correctly, Windows uses a crazy rats nest of slightly different versions of similar DLLs, which presumably allows each program/game to have its own exactly correct runtime. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

As an example of something that DOESN'T play nicely in this regard, I seem to recall PhysX occasionally causing people grief when some game wouldn't work because some other unrelated game (say, Mass Effect) was installed, and they'd have to manually mess with updating/fixing the PhysX stuff.

It's a neat little source mod game that features a great first person hand to hand combat system. The highlight though is the crazyass world it takes place in and for $3.75, it's a steal. Hard to recommend for over $5 personally though. It doesn't overstay it's welcome and rather satisfying in the end.

Hey guys, Dungeons of Dredmore is really cheap, but does it offer anything I wouldn't be able to get from a free or donation-supported roguelike like ToME? What's the draw for a PC roguelike player used to modability, tilesets, and infinite variations?

Cthulhu is pretty fun and amusing, but it's kind of hard. I appreciate a good RPG like this but I can't get past
the heroes at the start.

I think it's a little pedestrian to buy a train game to play with model trains instead of buying a real train set. I mean maybe this way it's cheaper but still, there's something to be said about having real miniature trains on display in your home.

Legit models trains get expensive as fuck. I remember looking at a catalog for stuff once and it kinda blew my mind. You gotta remember it isn't just the trains, all the stuff that goes into making the layout costs money too.
