Hamilton looks a whole lot like Puzzle Dimension which I still have like a bazillion levels left to finish.

I ignored the game during the Summer Sale because it was "only" 33% off.

I also thought it was available on PSN, but looking through the Playstation Store, I see it is not.

Maybe I'll pick it up sometime.

Dropped it into my wishlist so I'll remember.

It was a daily deal for at least 50% off

Just beat Hamilton's Great Adventure (19/22 achievements, still haven't played the bonus levels + I don't have gold on the very last level, but gold on every other level). Probably my GOTY. Can't recommend it highly enough.
GOTY? That's some high praise!

I did enjoy my time with it, played it near launch. There's supposed to be some free DLC levels coming soon, I think.

I guess it's coming out soon? It was announced for PSN, but I don't see it on trophy lists online and GameFAQs just has the generic "July 2011".

Would have bought Puzzle Dimension if it had went on sale during the sale :/

Congrats, send me a friend request on Steam (Username Stumpokapow, just like here). I've seen a few GAFfers on the top 10 of the leaderboards at various points; I'm in the top ten myself for a lot of the world 4 levels :p I don't think it's sold too many copies because I'm not particularly good at gaming!

Hamilton's gameplay is incredibly gratifying. I haven't hit the brick wall that I did in Puzzle Dimension, but some of the timing can be hard (as in there is no way you can do it your first run).

i need to attack those leaderboards man

so much other stuff to play that im yet to give the game the time it deserves, its great. The presentation reminds me of Henry Hatsworth, and that's a good thing.

Just finished the campaign of Swords and Soldiers HD, great game. Great escalation in difficulty too. Very accesible RTS game, I never had much experience with them before. I picked up a few other RTS games in the summer sale, looking forward to digging into the genre more.

Any opinions of Dungeons of Dredmore. Have not heard too much in depth talk about it. It looks very cool but having never played a Rogue type game before, not 100% sure what I would be getting into.

First time I've ever played a rouge like and I'm loving it a lot more fun than I expected. My first hour felt like 10 min

Yeah, I just finished the second world, and while I've been enjoying it, some of the timing stuff is already getting really frustrating (especially due to how if you mess up at all, you typically end up having to do the whole level over again), like this little number, which took me several attempts to get right:
http://steamcommunity.com/id/ShironRedshift/screenshot/541773797151067069?tab=public

And on the "boss fight" map for it, I ended up pretty much going with every possible wrong path before I ended up figuring out the right path to take (on I believe my 6th or 7th attempt). However, that level was much, much more enjoyable to me since the challenge came from the puzzle aspect of it, and not as much the timing (there were the snowballs, but they were pretty simple to dodge on that level).

Luckily, those parts haven't been too numerous/frustrating, though. Definitely been mostly a very fun game and fully worth the $5 I paid for it (and also definitely seems to be more than worth the normal price from what I've played as well).

This might be a bit off topic:

I am trying to purchase a game from steam, but none of my payment methods (debit card + credit card) would work. I would say the reason why steam would not allow the payment to go through is because I am using an U.S card when I am vacationing in China. However, I was wondering if I use a VPN to connect to steam, would it be a bannable offense? I have already googled the issue, but there was not a solid answer.

Thanks!

Add funds to your steam wallet, or add funds to your paypal and use that

Anyone wanna tell me if Zeno Clash is worth my money?

Its so cheap but I have no idea what it's about
Brutal fisticuffs! Self-impregnating hermaphroditic bird-man-creatures! Confusing patricide! Chicken kicking! Exploding skulls! Conspiracy involving exploding skulls! Fish guns! Domestic violence! Peyote!

If any of these things appeal to you, you will still very likely think Zeno Clash is total abstact lunacy. It's an entertaining variety of crazy, though, and $3.75 is a pretty good deal.

You need to change the country you are currently residing to China. I was in China for months and had this issue and it was because I chose my country as Canada instead of China. It is ok if your address is still US just change the box that says what country are you currently at and it will work.

Just wait till you start encountering agents :(

It's still not as mindfuck as the gravity stuff in PD.

In Hamilton's, what is the point of the bird? Just to flip switches? Do the purple bulbs do anything? I seem to just ignore her unless I need a switch flipped.

Mostly to flip switches, yes, but she's used for more than just that. She also is key to drawing enemies attention away from Hamilton, though. Like in the third world (which I just got to and finished the first few stages of), you'll encounter a type of enemy (called Agents) that will follow Hamilton around the map and progress towards him, and if it meets up with you, you die. You'll need to keep them away from Hamilton by sending Sasha to a different corner of the map and using her taunt (middle mouse click/button) to temporarily draw their attention and have them march towards her instead. Her taunt is also what you need to use to get rid of those flying-fish things that like to pester her (takes a few times, but it works).

As for the mystic dust (the purple bulbs) gotten by navigating Sasha to it, it's used for special actions/items, like having Sasha teleport to a spot on the map (double-click a location instead of just clicking it once). Their also used for the special items you get from the "bosses" (like the eyeglass Hamilton gets from the first boss), which are used by choosing the item with the number keys and then pressing Shift.

A lot of this info is in the Pause menu of the game--just press Esc, select Help or Options, then pick How to Play, and scroll through the pages of the Question Mark and Magnifying Glass tabs. It's also helpful to send Sasha to the Question Mark titles typically found near the beginning of levels, as they typically take you right to the relevant page when a new enemy is introduced or something.

Edit: While I'm at it, another key tip that's easy to miss would be to pay attention to the markers in levels. Like, look at this image:
http://steamcommunity.com/id/ShironRedshift/screenshot/541773797152737425?tab=public

On the right side, near the towers blocking the path, see the red, blue, and yellow markers? Now look just above them, at the buttons. Notice a similarity? Stuff like buttons and obstacles blocking your path that are linked to each other have matching markers like that, so if you're not sure how you're supposed to get rid of an object blocking your path, it's helpful to note the flag it has and look for something else on the map that has the same flag. Combining this with zooming out (hold F; hold R to zoom back in) and rotating the map (Q/E keys) is very helpful for figuring out a lot of puzzles.

The demo of Hamilton gave me the impression that it was just another puzzle game in a different setting. I thought it was going to be somewhat polished in terms of story or just a little something extra to keep me interested, but it just threw me right into things. Didn't help that I didn't like the gameplay that much from the 5 minutes I played of it.

Oh well, it's not like I need another game in my backlog now anyways.

I suppose it's not something everyone will like (I mean, according to the Steam achievement stats, only ~22% of people even bothered to finish the first chapter, which is really kind of saddening to think about), but it's worth another shot at least. Once you get the hang of things and how the game works it's a lot of fun. I mean, the game has stuff like flying pufferfish--what's not to like? :p But seriously, yeah, it's understandable if it just didn't click with you, but you should give it another try--it took a few levels for me to learn the ropes and for the game to really start clicking for me and really having fun with it.

Plus, it's worth it to get to great-looking stages like this (okay, I cheated a bit there by taking a screenshot while I was holding Q to rotate the map to the left, but still--that's an actual shot, so it counts. :p) and especially for stuff like the artwork in the story scenes (don't worry--no real spoilers in either of those shots).

I'm having a blast with this game. Lot of different skills, nice loot, a complex crafting system... really good game.

Posted by Cas (Revenge of the Titans dev) on the SPUF in regards to Achievements.

Not at the mo... I'm working on bringing the Ultrabundle to Steam first. Then probably German translation of Revenge. THEN hopefully Cloud and Achievements, for all of the games.

The heck is the Ultrabundle?

It's a pack of 3 of their older games. They sound pretty awesome. I love the visual style of their games and i've put quite a few hours into Revenge of the Titans, so i'm thinking of picking it up.

So.. Cthulhu on Steam or XBLA ? Is the exact same version of the game ? achievements or master race?

Which one gives more money to the devs ?

Same features, you get 2 games for $2.69. No achievements

I don't know, you could ask slash000 (dev) in the Cthulhu OT.

Steam. Because Steam.

And I *think* Steam takes less of a cut out of the money. And just Steam.

This is great news! For anyone wondering, the bundle consists of Titan Attacks!, which is a remake of Space Invaders. Ultratron, which is a remake of Robotron 2084, and Droid Assault, which is a semi-remake of Paradroid. They're all pretty neat and my Steam library is ready.

I was on the fence about Revenge of the Titans, so I grabbed the demo. Once I booted it up, the title screen music was Funeral March for Queen Mary and THAT right there sent me running to Steam to make a purchase.
