welp, I can't prove something that never happened, but I don't think it's too hard to imagine that a game where a naked child rips through a poop filled basement with the end goal of killing his mother (with the help of some dismembered dog/cat heads) would be offensive to some people..? haha.

for what it's worth, I don't find the game offensive (other than how hard it kicks my ass) - I'm just worried that having such a broad 'no offensive' material rule could potentially stifle a lot of developers creativity.

I think it's safe to say that games getting approved before this will be after it too.

The game is on Steam now. It wasn't deemed offensive by Valve already. Why would it be removed from their workshop?

Honestly I'd be perfectly happy NOT having games like that on Steam, Binding of Isaac included. But as mentioned, Binding of Isaac is already on Steam, and it seems to be trying to push the envelope of how offensive things can go. Ultimately the call is presumably still up to Valve. If someone submits a hentai game, a virus, or a game that doesn't run at all, Valve would still have to be able to say no even if votes were there.

Most likely you'd be seeing stuff like the JFK assassination simulator or the Columbine RPG banned, or that shit they make to promote hate groups, but not Isaac.

I think this is exactly what it is. It's something they can use arbitrarily to keep games off of Steam that they think go way too far.

BoI is not offensive: as far as I know, noone contacted Mc Millen or Valve because of how offensive the game is.

It is a game where tears, blood and crap mix together. It is a game about life and sacrifices, death and beliefs. And the music is compelling.

Overall a good game, but scope of the levels was smaller than the first two games. The items (weapons and such) could've been better. The first person mode didn't feel as good as the first two games. Shalebridge Cradle was awesome.

Pretty much my sentiments on Thief 3 exactly. Also Thief 3 is janky.

Level 3 still sucks

Is that level 3 including the lame tutorial mission or not? I just finished the first non tutorial mission (stealing the blood opal) and I stopped at the start of the next where you're in Garrett's house.

It definitely has that early 2000s janky feel to it but I'm liking it. The stealth is a bit easy on normal so I may bump it up a bit.

This is really new thread worthy: Steam Greenlight announced, lets gamers vote indie games on to Steam

HUGE news for indies everywhere :)

Here is my list of games which are Steam worthy. Let us wait until August, and we will unleash the votes.

I will put a list of already released (at least an alpha version) commercial indie games which are worth it, yet not on Steam.

Whoops, I mixed up the game you were talking about. Saw Deadly Shadows thought Dark Project for some reason.

Help with Bioshock 2.

It locks up at the splash screen, freezing my entire laptop (can't do anything other than logging off) It states that my video card is below the requirements. I have a 7970m, so that's incorrect. I've re-installed GWFL, changed the windows compatibility to 2000. Nothing works.

Has anyone got this game to work in Win7 64bit?

anyone?
somebody must have played the Steam version of Bioshock2.

I'm transferring my windows install to an new SSD!

One question, can I just copy a game from [steamapps/common/xgame] from my current HDD to my new installation of steam on my SSD?

I don't really get how steam game installations work. If I am correct, the games aren't really traditionally installed, are they?

Use Steam mover for that

What I'm hoping to do is move a game from current HDD --> external HDD --> SSD

Would steam mover do that? It's just to save some download time, not too much of an issue if it doesn't work.
I assume then that just copying the files will not work.

Yes and you can play the games even when they've moved (although doing that on an external drive is not going to be fun).

EDIT - And yes it's best to use a tool like Steam Mover/Steam Tool

Weird, I got a group invite from some CS go group (I think, had a strange name but had csgo in it) for some strange reason. I never get invites to anything since I only have 3 steam friends and belong to 0 groups. Plus I've never played any CS game on Steam so I guess they're just spamming invites to everyone they can.

I got an invite like that over the weekend too. None of my friends are in that group and I have never played CS on steam. Gotta be just spamming.

Does Valve usually have the Valve complete pack on sale during there Summer/ Winter sales? Believe it or not that is the only thing I'm really interested in regards to any type of Summer sale.

Yes. And it's always a great deal for those who don't own much (anything) from Valve.

How can it be a bundle if it's just one game and one extra piece of DLC :s

Thats two games and two dlc. American Nightmare is a comolete stand alone game. The Collectors Edition is two dlc add ons from the original game.

I already beat the base game on console, but if it is under $2o for the bundle, I'll buy it again.

Seeing that the Walking Dead is in a pack gives me hope that it will show up on a daily deal. I wasn't sure if it would since only 2 episodes have been released so far.

No its very different. It is basicslly Alan Wake 1.5. It was made over a year later with improved graphics engine and a completely different storyline and settings than the original.
Is the combat still the same? I found the original a little too clunky for my tastes and that first DLC with all the combat was horrid.

The CE version of Alan Wake is just some OST and a commentary anyways, not worth it imo

Oh man I just got a PC capable of playing games on max, I've been stopping myself buying certain games since, thinking they'll be on sale soon. BRING ME ALL THE GAMES PLZ.

Combat is largely the same but there are some weapons which make fighting groups easier and ammo is a non-issue. I actually enjoy Alan Wake combat, though. It requires a lot of situation awareness because enemies are constantly trying to flank you. If you can keep all the action in front of you, dodging incoming attacks and using your flashlight to stun felt really satisfying to me. I think I'm in the minority though. Most people seemed to get tired of it by the end of the first game.

Now Available - Foreign Legion: Multi Massacre

Wait, someone thought it was a good idea to release a sequel to that terrible game? That might have been the most awful game I played during last year's Summer Sale. And I played a shitload of bad games during that sale.

I don't think it has anything to do with the sale, just some assorted bugfixes and new boss variants.
Maybe it's just an observation bias on my part but I'm under the impression there's been a ton of updates over the past 10 days. I'm pretty certain if we counted how many games have updated every week in 2012, we'd see a spike these past 2 weeks. We'd have to avoid counting DOTA 2 and Sword of the Stars II though.
