If I get SYABH on the dev site, do I get Steam key as well?
Here's what will blow your mind:
First DX is better than DXHR (though DXHR is more "modern")
Also get the patch for Bloodlines. Also look into getting the ENB for it, holy jesus christ does it make some parts fucking SCARY (the haunted house in particular)

Edit: nvm, I think I'll hold off on SYABH until I have a better computer that I'm certain will run the game. Sucks though, because the game looks amazing.

Never noticed that, I just liked looking at them from the xbox browser page or now the Windows 8 games app. I wonder if Microsoft will try their hand again with a GFWL 2 replicating the One's system or just use steam. GFWL could have been great but they never updated it like Xbox Live, I really don't understand why.
And how is downloading games via Origin an exercise in futility? I've never had issues, aside from BF3's awful punkbuster support but that's not Origin.
But then why hire the steam guy ? (Sorry, don't recall his name)

Was considering your impressions...I chatted with the dev a bit in the forums and according to him, the game is "first and foremost a single player experience"
Which is great because I was only going to play solo and never touch co-op. Do you think your impressions would have been different if you played alone?
Also consider that the difficulty of a roguelike varies with each death. Maybe those first 15 minutes seemed easy because that's just how the world generated that time?
Any other impressions? Now that I took SYABH off the potential list, LoD is #1 on my wishlist so I'm interested

does anyone else get these weird glitches with firefox? On facebook, my friends list on the side will have these black boxes everywhere. On GAF it's those same boxes and it's everywhere
I googled this issue and it says it's a graphics card issue, but I don't get this with Chrome or Internet Explorer (tried it to see if those boxes would appear)

I played about 7 minutes on my own before the coop game and had the same opinion. In terms of difficulty I never came close to death on my own. I am a bit surprised by the devs comment about it being mainly a solo game cause everything i saw beforehand was playing up the coop factor, though it did seem more as a play with friends kind of way than a necessity like how Spelunky has a coop mode but can be played as a strict single player game.
If you are hesitant to spend your money on something you're not sure on you should wait and find more opinions on the game, it's perfectly possible that my opinion is an anomaly. I might give the game another shot soon, probably once I finish up all the challenges in Saint's Row IV. Also I'm gonna try another coop game with different friends to see if they have different opinions though that will probably be next week.

I agree on all points. SR4 just wants to be a game, nothing more. Pure unadulterated fun. Time just melts away, like he said. And I didn't even play Coop yet.

Yes, pretty much. But just jumping, running and gliding around is way more fun than just driving in a car in any other Open World game was before. Traversing in those games always felt like chore to me though.
This was my intention also, but I can't stomach the awful performance in the PC port, which is made worse when adjusting settings, necessitating a restart to see actual effect. Getting the game to run acceptably is a big chore that I can't be bothered with.

I had no interest in the game whatsoever but great scott, after playing for a couple of hours, Saints Row IV is insane. Insanely fun! So much weirdness and stuff, i'm loving it.

No idea, but I will add that it does support Steam Workshop and existing Train Sim owners are automatically upgraded to next year's entry free of charge.
