Yes. EB Games AU even runs a promotion prior to the Summer and Winter Sales where you gain 30% on top of your trade value if you opt to spend it on Steam Wallet codes. I think Gamestop itself has done something similar before.

Any way to know if family sharing is enabled on a particular game ? A friend of mine got KF2 beta so if it's share-able we might try it.

Gay Tony is one of the best things the entire GTA series has to offer. Lost and Damned on the other hand isn't really essential. Though there's a small (and very short) connection to V which makes you go 'wot' when you know the characters.
If it had people wouldn't be able to activate keys without a VPN already to preload.
Check the app on SteamDB and search for exfgls. Games are shared by default; the exfgls flag allows publishers to opt out.

I can't find exfgls in the KF2 page but I can't either on the GTA5 one and I know GTA5 isn't share-able since my friends don't have it through my library so I think I'm looking in the wrong place.

Hmm, if Lost and the Damned is short, I guess I'll plow through that and finish up with Gay Tony. As long as the missions are something other than "drive here and kill a building full of guys", then I'll be happy.
I'm pretty sure games that aren't released yet can't be shared at all.
Pre-ordered games won't show up in your library until release I believe.

This has been a thing with other games too. Campster compared it to car commercials lol.
But KF2 isn't released and ReleaseStateOverride doesn't carry in family sharing.

Yeah, I know. Family Sharing games doesn't actually use the account owner's licence at all, which is why it can be used to get around OARIC.

Pornography would absolutely be posted in off topic if we valued freedom of speech as much as you want to. Unless you want to draw an arbitrary line saying "everything but this for no reason." Hell, a guy was even banned and his thread nuked for posting porn just the other day.
As it stands, piracy discussion, much like porn discussion, is banned because it would conflict with the site's ability to make money.

I was not the one who brought up piracy. ArynCrinn mentioned it in the post that set all this off and, if you've ever seen any of his other posts around the forum, you'll know his positions. He mostly skirts the line, complaining about his inability to talk about what he wants, but his opinions are clear.
As for mine, I fully support emulation and format shifting. So, what now? We fuck or what?

I can't be the only one that sees KF2 and thinks "why is everyone so excited over King's Field 2?"
I believe they have fixed this. If game is region locked, it doesn't get shared.
I think a man as smart as yourself knows fair well I wasn't talking about "porn posting" in any way shape or form. In fact, I gave clear outlines as to what I disagree with. Being a "gaming forum" first and foremost, pornography almost never is applicable to substantive discourse, and as such inappropriate to post whether it's a meme or whatever. And even IF that happened I would argue the post be removed and a strict warning issued instead of a outright ban.
The ONLY situation where "porn" of any kind would be applicable to the discussion is if a game in question had such content to be discussed, analyzed and talked about in a civil and adult way, with god forbid a bit of humor.
Other than that though, I enjoy some of the discussions here, although at times I must admit I feel like I'm speaking to complete imbeciles (defense of "non-publicizing Hatred brigade") as if it's some kind of sacriledge for it to exist. Keeping in mind of course the rank hypocrisy this sets up while allowing people in offtopic to openly and vividly discuss films such as Salo/Serbian Film/Men Behind the Sun,etc. Now, in the words of George Carlin that is "what is called being stunningly and embarrassingly full of shit".
Now, you mention, it's due to "ads" and all that stuff. Well, I hate to break it to you but, ads aren't the only way to maintain and run a message board like this. Far greater scope of "sites" (left unsaid) operate purely on donations and get by just fine. In fact by operating purely on donations, the community thus then has a actual say and meaningful voice in the site as a whole, because if the staff don't want to play straight we can just choose not to economically support them. Thus giving the entire community a enormous social glue and embedded investment both financially AND based on the "rules" of the site.
Now, I'm no all knowing entity, but that seems a far better deal for the regular ole' users to effect real change on the site whatever that may be, than a handpicked and very few sort of hierarchy that is assumed or supposed to be benevolent or pure objective to every situation, which is impossible.

I love that I found out about this here first. I felt that the demo of the first one was a bit of a slog and the general consensus around the full game was that it drags on so I skipped it. Hopefully this one isn't as bad because I liked the concept. The fact that I was still playing Awakening didn't help either.
The Ballad of Gay Tony is a must.
That's only logical but I don't have any OARIC-locked games to test. I'm sure if it has been fixed you'll have no trouble digging up a source, though (I'd search myself but I can't go 20 seconds without the 'net dropping out).

I understand your positions. With the existence of an off-topic side, I disagree that we could avoid pornography discussion without, again, the kind of moderation you disagree with.
Regardless, objectionable content would still exist on the gaming side, including the hentai games you mentioned, but also things like nude mods for the games we're talking about or even artwork that gets posted.
The choice was made that this forum would be free, a thing that opens discussion up to the most amount of people, but realities require that money would be needed. Are there alternatives that could be established or already exist on other forums? Sure.
But that begs the question: why aren't you there? If those forums are doing what you want, why aren't you taking your business there? Maybe it's an unfortunate compromise we have to make to allow the most amount of people a voice in the discussion.
My argument from the beginning was this: what limits us here is what makes here special.

Yeah.. I will be really happy if L4D3 is closer to L4D2 rather than CS:GO, but at this point I will take anything.
Source 2 is pretty near, sometimes it still feel pretty surreal. A lot of things has changed since Source 1... shit I get too melancholic, better sleep. G'night GAF.

Very tricky. I don't know what the right answer is, like for example songs getting patched out of Harmonix games, or anytime a fan translation's done for something that was never localized outside of Japan.
Does it count as piracy if you buy a modded cartridge off of eBay for Seiken Densetsu 3 or Mother 3? Ripping ISO and roms for games you own to play on PC? All very gray.

Very interesting topic. I am from time to time thinking similar stuff about old games almost not or very hard to get your hands on as well. Like Soldier of Fortune (the superior original). Being not allowed in Germany, it is very hard to get it. Not legally afaik.
Then again, I am not sure if it is tolerated to even talk about these things here. In the end I am not saying "go pirate game here.com" or something like that and I am not saying "lol suckaz, I pirate this game xy".

the distinction to me is this: If i download Mother 3 and a translation patch, am I hurting the possibility of A) mother 3 coming over to the states and B) hurting the publisher or developer by not buying the game?
in this case, Mother 3 is no longer in production so Nintendo isn't seeing any money from it and they're showing zero signs of ever bringing the game over so I feel that it is not the worst thing ever if one were to pull the game down from the 'net. Now, if the game had just been released and you would be affecting either A or B in some sort of way then it's less grey and more black.
