played a few hours of dying light

not sure what to make of it, running and jumping around and looting shit is fun but i'm not really blown away by it or anything. the combat hasn't been much more than mashing so i figured i'd try and do a pacifist run and just kick zombies around while i try to do the mission objectives not killing anyone but too bad first mission i get is murder some dudes lol

what i wasn't prepared is the astoundingly terrible story. i mean, i've been warned by so many people about it but i just couldn't be prepared for something this terrible

really some of the most irritating, lazy set of scenes and characters ever. and what's the deal with shoving that horrible lady's face right in the camera in every cutscene? it's not even a good looking model or anything and she always has her mouth half open like an idiot, ugh i hate her...

it's been two hours and i'm already skipping every possible cutscene, something's seriously wrong with the writers of this fucking game

yeah i can see that, but tbh most of the changes didn't seem like they made the game much more fun

You meant to wrote that The Age of Decadence has surpassed all expectations and sold amazingly well at 25k.

That's, like, 10 times more than Might & Magic X, right?

Having dailies would indeed be thrilling, but come on, even without dailies it's still winter sale! They will have something good, I am sure (not joking). It's a good day today. :)

When I got more abilities that let me parkour more smoothly is when the game clicked for me. Depends on if that's something you find fun. You will get the grappling hook at some point and that makes traversal a lot of fun.

Making really powerful modded weapons was cool too, like setting zombies on fire or electrocuting them and stuff.

yeah i'm hoping the grappling hook makes the game more fun and quicker

i like how i have to avoid zombies because killing them is tedious and boring and it never ends, so i hope i get more options around that rather than get more and more forced into the combat which is at least so far too simple and one-note for my taste

One of the very early upgrades allows you to literally run over the top of zombies and that makes avoiding combat a lot easier. Also remember that you have noisemakers.

Might not be too bad this time around - the frenzied 'is Game X worth it?' posts, and whatever else, might die down relatively quickly given the expected lack of daily deals (or anything to prompt folks to keep a close eye on the sale for its duration).

Stump has done his bit in the spirit of Christmas to return Salsa safely to the fold (thanks, Stump!), so blessed SteamGAF is all set to shine brightly over in Gaming during the sale.

So with idlemaster, it idled all 14 games at once for the first 2 hours, then each individually. Could it just idle all of them at once until you get all the card drops?

The drop rate slows down to a crawl when games are being idled (or played) at the same time, so it would make no sense to idle past the 2 hour requirement. It could work in theory but it would be far slower.

Please PC exclusives are obviously just uprezed mobile ports, walking simulators, and obtuse eastern european (grand) strategy games. Neither of which actually count as real games

A Russian guy is suing Bethesda for his Fallout 4 addiction

The plaintiff, a 28-year-old from the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk, ended up losing his job because he was skipping work to play Fallout. He also stopped hanging out with his friends, and neglected his wife to the point that she left him. Naturally, his health went downhill too, since he wasn't sleeping or eating.

"If I knew that this game could have become so addictive, I would have become a lot more wary of it," he said in a statement. "I would not have bought it, or I would have left it until I was on holiday or until the New Year holidays."
