AA: Dual Destinies for $15 is nice for those who haven't gotten it yet (like me).

EDIT: does anyone know if the DLC is on sale? I haven't finished the Trilogy and don't want to start DD yet, and I'm assuming you can't buy the DLC until you play a little ways into the game.

So I did a rundown of eShop games in the three major regions. After counting all eShop downloads excluding Retail, VC and Apps, it ends like this:

America: 261 games
Europe: 176 games
Japan: 80 games

Now, I'm in no way defending NoA's treatment of the VC as I definitely think America deserves better with so many great games still unreleased. However, I do think this adds a bit of perspective as to why Europe and (specially) Japan need to fill up spots in their weekly releases with VC games more often.

We definitely got this one.
Ack, you did! My mistake. :[

Since it's the holidays, in the spirit of togetherness I'd like to unite us all against our common foe: Japan!

Here's what Japan has that America and Europe still don't. Note, I've included some JP only original releases but only if they're playable fully in english already or had a previous western Japanese release (like on Wii VC). Get ready to weep Max. ;__;

Also, Nintendo's been doing VC for almost a decade now. I think they probably have some sales data to justify how & why they sell games in different regions.

Anyways! In happier news (for me, I'm sure most people have given up at this point):

Pinball Arcade is actually happening on Wii U!

Darn, no Capcom VC stuff on sale. Would've gladly bought Demon's Crest & Gargoyle's Quest 2 if they were discounted.

Oh hey, Iron Combat: War in the Sky is half off ($3.50). I could've sworn people said it was good, sort of like a budget Z.O.E or Liberation Force.

Does Nintendo not care about the distinction between Wii downloads and Wii U Virtual Console games anymore? I don't remember a press release from before stating so explicitly that a Wii game was a part of the Virtual Console service.

NOA doesn't care that they're wrong about this. NOE still has some sense.

We've known or speculated that this is why things are so different but these numbers should put things in perspective quite a bit. Still won't stop the constant whining though.

Steel Empire finally half off as well. Might get that & Iron Combat.

Ya know, thinking about it, when was the last time a non-Nintendo VC title was on sale? I know Capcom has done some sales on the Mega Man NES & SNES titles along with one or two of the SF games, but that seems to be it. Sega also did some Sonic-related ones for the Game Gear.

the game itself looks, uh, iffy

would love some impressions

nintendolife reviewed it with a 3/10 ...but that was at full price. remember that you can spend a buck on this which is basically nothing to look at some nice scenery and steer a train for a 30 minute ride :)

There's a demo
You drive a train
Er that's it!
Always wanted to play one of these games after watching Arino play one on Game Center CX, he was using a special peripheral controller but the touch screen does a good job of replicating the inside of a drivers cabin.

ah, didn't notice there was a demo

will try it out, thanks

yeah, i just wasn't sure what it was but i'll find out myself now

Dash Kappei

Not actually that important
Finally?
Just give us portrait mode while playing on the gamepad and DMD view on the gamepad when playing on TV!
Hopefully they'll be able to use some of that delucious next-gen lighting instead of having a barebone PS360 port.
Can't wait to play The Addams Family on the pad :O,,

OH SHIT KORG DSN-12 FINALLY ON SALE AGAIN

M01D is easily my most played 3DS "game", clocked 134 hours on that bad boy. Definitely grabbing the other one.

Probably going to buy the two resident evil games on sale. Nothing on the Wii U interests me... Not sure if it's worth buying MH3U on Wii u if I have it on 3ds.

I don't know if this is the right thread for this, but I got a New 3DS XL for Christmas and I don't know anything about the storage in the system. How much space do the older Zelda titles take up?

I don't know if this is the right thread for this, but I got a New 3DS XL for Christmas and I don't know anything about the storage in the system. How much space do the older Zelda titles take up?

what are "the older zelda titles" exactly?

your system comes with a 4GB microSD card.

all the zelda games you can possibly buy on 3DS can fit on that card together.

I was thinking about buying the GB games and the NES games. Good to know they'll all fit, thanks.

Oh yeah, if you just want the NES & GB/C Zelda games, you should be completely fine. Just for reference:

- Legend of Zelda = 47 blocks
- Zelda 2: Adventure of Link = 61 blocks
- Link's Awakening DX = 47 blocks,
- Oracle of Seasons/Ages = 49 blocks each

All 5 games total = 253 blocks, or around 31.6 MB.

Merry Christmas Nintendo Downloads gang, hope your day went swell!

Finally died down around here so I'm going to grab Steamworld Heist . Has the eshop been lagging today or can I search for other games without worry?

Isn't it 8 blocks = 1MB? Could've sworn you figure out the size by taking the block size & dividing it by 8.

It is. 1 block = 128kb.
Dividing by 8 works but multiplying by 0.128 is much more accurate. For example, the 253 blocks from before are actually 32.4MB, not 31.6MB. Not a huge difference, but... yeah, I guess I'm just nitpicking but the difference does get much bigger when converting bigger games!

the game itself looks, uh, iffy
would love some impressions

I've only played the demo, which you've probably tried by now as well, but it's actually a pretty nice game, at least if you're into trains and Japan like I am. I got very much into trying to get better scores in the two or so routes included in the demo and would love to try the whole game when I'm not a dirt poor almost homeless hobo. The train in the Kyoto game is specially cool and the scenery is fantastic. Like The Moon said, what you're getting is more than enough for that price.

128 KB = 1/8 MB. Bytes don't actually use powers of 10*. There are 1024 KB in 1 MB.

Except when they do. However, that typically only happens when hardware manufacturers are specifying the size of a drive.

I went ahead and grabbed Dual Destinies on sale even though I still need to finish up the first game and both of the other games in Trilogy.

What's the status on the Ace Attorney series looking like right now? What I mean is, what are the odds of getting the games that take place between Trilogy and Dual Destinies on Wii U VC, or should I be trying to track down DS carts?

That could take a while. The good thing is that Capcom is a strong VC supporter with them even putting up Wii games now, too but I don't think we've had any DS third party games so far? Depending on how urgent it is for you, tracking down carts might be faster.
