I am loving the new DariusBurst DLC. Windia plays like a really faithful interpretation of how Deathsmiles would work in a game with more screen space and more enemies. A+!

Do note, for anything that isn't GAF and my mail the browser is in sandbox - everything already gets deleted =p

This is good but not as good. One problem with cookies is that you get tracked over several websites during a session with third-party advertisement cookies. This can lead to situations like:
https://artplusmarketing.com/browsing-your-website-does-not-mean-i-want-your-spam-3821267e902

  1. I am signed up to some platform which is a Criteo partner. It’s entirely unclear who this partner is. While Criteo boasts a “close partnership” with Facebook, Facebook claims that they do not share personally identifying information such as your email address with ad partners. Regardless, a platform with my email address gave it to Criteo.
  2. That platform dropped a Criteo cookie in my browser at some point in the past.
  3. That platform delivered my information (a way to identify me using a cookie and a hash of my email address) to Criteo.
  4. A couple weeks ago servers alerted Criteo that my Criteo ID was browsing sears.com. They are able to do this because sears.com loads Criteo code and uses a criteo.com cookie, screenshot here.
  5. Criteo queries its partner for my email address when Sears wants to send spam to users who browsed their website.
  6. Sears gets my email via Criteo and subscribes me to a newsletter and sends me the spam.
Criteo (and their partners, like sears.com) have successfully performed an end-run around the traditional newsletter opt-in process.

Yea but that article was talking about firefox and nothing really for chrome. There are a few cookies I would like to keep.

Do you mean that there are few cookies or that there are a few cookies that you would like to keep?

If Tab Cookies works as intended, it should allow to whitelist websites like GAF or your email provider, in which case cookies are permanently saved, and blacklist everything else, in which case, cookies are deleted 10 seconds after you close the tab.

Well I installed it and it immediately deleted all of them lol. How do you use it? Options is greyed out. I can click it to add a green check...on GAF.

I can only talk based on the Firefox extension. When you are on a website that you trust, you manually toggle the icon to green once, which means that the cookie will not be deleted.

Also, of course, cookies and website preferences should not be set for deletion every time you close your browser, otherwise you would lose the cookies or the website-dependent settings.

Last EA game I bought is Dragon Age Inquisition. Bought it during launch, still haven't played it. Even took the time to do the whole web thing to map out my choices from previous games since I didn't have my saves.

Also, bought Xanadu Next from humble. It better be good, don't fail me now Steamgaf.

It's good. I recommend dropping these two files into the install dir. It'll improve performance.

And if you got 'em, I recommend using a steam controller or a ds4 with the steam api. Using the touchpad or right stick as a mouse works nicely for inventory management.

Got no problems with blind bundles as long as people can jump in whenever during the period they are available, but this whole limited availability is a very bad idea. To try and urge people to spend the highest bundle price so far, by not being clear about which games will be available, and for how long, it's a bad practice.

I can totally understand why developers wouldn't want tens of thousands of keys in the hands of people who potentially don't actually want their game. But then again, just don't participate in blind bundles if that's the case.

Those of you dissing EA are gonna be ashamed of your words when Mass Effect: Andromeda wins GOTY 2017.

Used to it.

I dissed Mass Effect 2. It won.
I dissed Dragon Age: Inquisition. It won.

Maybe if I actually like Andromeda, then it will drop out of top 10?

Not sure how I understand the reasoning behind this. If you don't like it, don't buy, that I get. But the part before that, I'm more confused about that. It doesn't sound like something that applies to the Yogscast bundle here.

Access Denied is out for less than $3. No idea how good the game is. I imagine it is similar to The Room, and I like the visuals which reminds me of Keep Talking and Bomb Squad Academy.

*30 hours into the game you wander down an empty corridor with high walls that stretch into infinity*
Because your character has been seriously injured in a cutscene moments ago (the same cutscene killed your brother and/or sister depending on which gender you picked, so you are really hit in the feels as well), you forcibly slow-walk down the corridor until you reach the end. Standing there is a being of pure light with an angel halo.

<Ryder> Who are you? What is this?
<Angel> You have reached the center of the Andromeda Galaxy. We are your creators. We have been waiting since before the beginning of time for your arrival and we will wait until after the end of time for your command.
<Ryder> [Paragon] I don't understand. You... you brought us here?
<Ryder> [Renegade] Shut up and give me POWER
<Angel> [Regardless of above choice] Yes, we brought you here. We have been watching your development as a species. Many years ago we sent the Reapers, and the Prometheans, and the Leviathans, and all of the other species you have encountered to your home galaxy in order to guide your development. All to wait until this moment, where you, the chosen one arrived. Now you must decide the fate not only of the Andromeda Galaxy, but all galaxies.

* cut to Ryder's face, but there's an LOD issue so it kinda looks like s/he has no hair and one of their eyes is missing*

<Angel> What will you choose?

[Prompt]
1) I want to rule the whole universe
2) I want to destroy the whole universe
[Patched in v1.01] 3) I think we should work together to make a better universe

*regardless of selection, there is a fade to black. Nolan North reads a monologue over camera pans across planets.* Time flows like a river, from north to south, and as we make our way through these rapids, we sometimes run aground. But we keep fighting. We fight with our courage and our bravery, our guts and our cunning. We are all one.

*camera cuts to a windswept rocky barren* *camera pans up to a tombstone* *tombstone reads Rhyder* We'll never know what happened to Rhyder that day... but one thing we will know... is that things will never be the same as the way they were.

*Papa Roach's Last Resort begins playing* *credits scroll, approximately 2,700 people worked on asset outsourcing and QA*

Please Buy Mass Effect: Andromeda: Reckoning, the exclusive novelization of the video game Mass: Effect: Andromeda. We at BioWare love our fans!!! (Press A/X to continue) *returns to title screen*

*bow* *literally crying tears* GOTY GOTF I can't believe GameNutz only gave this a 9.8. Time to load up on BioWare Points for the DLC.

The Saboteur is the best EA exclusive and it's now on GOG, which makes it way easier to launch through Steam (as it is DRM free and all). I'm going to wait until it hits 75% off though.

Developers probably want to limit the number of keys sold through the Yogscast bundle because they understand that a large number of them will be resold, undercutting their price from official retailers, and potentially lowering the price they can get for their game permanently.

In that context, saying that you will only provide keys to the first 50k buyers makes sense, even if it's kinda bullshit.

Re: 52 games played thing.

I know it doesnt matter since its a silly internet "contest" mainly used as motivation to actually play games... but people listing dlcs (with some exceptions like the witcher 3 stuff for example, or...I dunno, Legion for wow) or individual episodes of telltale games kinda feel like their cheating.

I mean, people listing Destiny as 1-Destiny, 2-Taken King, 3-House of Wolves when you buy the gold version with everything, thats like me listing ESO as 6 games then. I dunno, just feels wrong. I know I know who cares...

And here I am feeling guilty for filling out the home stretch with 1 or 2 hour games >_>

You didnt recomend Three Fourths Home. Because you suck.

In fact, noone did, which is bizarre since steamgaf is an oozing nest of visual novel fanboys. Not enough waifus I guess.

Its supposed to be quite good too I think?

Don't think that's the case, considering how it's not been applied to any bundle before this. It feels like something added just because they wanted that "limited edition" bundle, rather then something for the developers.

I'm not aware of any previous bundle where people blindly purchased 30 games for a dollar each. The vast majority of those keys won't be redeemed by the original purchaser, which is a dangerous situation to be in for a dev.

If Yogscast wanted a "limited" bundle, they could have just imposed a hard cap on the number of sales.

Bioware can do good, but they sure aren't free from doing bullshit either.

Dragon Age 2 reusing assets, Mass Effect 3 endings, and the design approach of inquisition show as much.

I do hope Andromeda is good but I have my doubts. If I find out it has the same system of forcing you to do side content to progress it's small story I'm out.

I am currently reading To Green Angel Tower by Tad Williams, the third book in the Memory, Sorrow & Thorn trilogy. In the paperback versions, this book had to be split into 2 parts, each 800 pp long. So if I was reading it in hardcover or Kindle, it would be one book, but in ppb it's two.

I plan on counting it as two.

Shoot me I guess.

This. For me that is near enough a cardinal sin of game design, and I hold it highly against any game that does it, whether directly or indirectly.

Only exception I can think of is Witcher 3, and that's cos the side content is so damn good.

And they should have done that, because right now it seems like they have no idea what they're doing at all with this.

King Arthur's Gold didn't get sold out after 50 000 bundles. Maybe after 60 000? Not sure, but even if was, why would it be the only one of all the games revealed so far to have that limit?

I actually really liked Inquisition's progression system, but I think the individual quests could have used stronger storylines instead of generic "collect X thingies to get 1 war point" checklists. Maybe some more lore and recent history in the environments to layer in too.

Mass Effect 2's episodic storyline was the biggest reason it's one of my favorite games of last gen, so I hope Bioware can come up with some compelling smaller questlines for each mission.

I'm optimistic, but I'm not planning on buying the game Day One.

Saints Row 2 man. Do boring side missions in order to able to do a main mission... main missions consisting of both story missions and re-branded side missions where you'd take down a casino or whatever. I gave up after taking out one of the three factions. So... much... grinding.

It sucked, because I liked the characters and writing.

They could also have put a time limit on the activation of Steam keys, as is done for certain Humble giveaways.

For info:

Maybe I'm completely drunk, but didn't 7 days to die had bad/mixed reviews? I noticed now the recent ones are mostly positive (91%) and an overall ov 81%. Is it actually good??

Mmmm... Rise of the Tomb Raider with 50% discount on Steam right now. Maybe it really is one of the games on the SE holiday pack? When do they unveil the contents? :D

but why aren't you playing it ;_;

I just played an hour and a half and it's really fun and quite engaging, it took a little getting used to the interface and how the inventory stuff worked, everything is physically represented in the world so you like make a solar panel in your backpack/inventory for energy and drag it out of your inventory and snap it to the side of your backpack, it's really cool and intuitive once you get used to it. I also like how they've made the tether system for oxygen a gameplay mechanic and also a cool way of representing where you've been in the world. Overall I really like the style and feel of it, it's got a crazy amount of potential for an pre-alpha game.

I hope they don't kill off one of the Ryders. That would be disappointing.

I want them to do a good Brother/Sister story that lasts an entire trilogy or something. It could make for great replay value too.

Eh, it's just for personal satisfaction and motivation. It's not like mixed in with short games there isn't usually some 100hr rpg that could have been traded off for 10 fps campaigns.

I finally knocked off TEW: The Assignment and The Consequence. I can let my nerves rest. I played the first 5 minutes of the Executioner. I totally forgot what it was, what a crazy thing.

I wanted to come on-line and talk about how much I enjoy it and apparently people found it really disappointing or not fun? That's...confusing to me. I'm having a blast.
