A 21st Century Rockefeller
wait RE7 has a season pass why

Was announced when the game was, RE7 will have three DLC stuff released after launch.

DLC 1 is 'Four Short Stories' (these are likely VHS-like segments)
DLC 2 is a bonus campaign chapter.
DLC 3 is a bonus campaign chapter.

Basically additional story content once the game has released, says all will be released by December 31st, 2017. Full details on them later, but basically how they handled RE5's DLC (except replace Versus Mode with Four Short Stories).

No I'd rather RE7 DLC alternate endings

DLC 1. It was all a dream
DLC 2. You were in purgatory all along
DLC 3. Credits scene titled "Chapter 3 Peace/Symbiosis"

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
When does the SteamGAF GOTY voting period open up? I have a lot of games to crunch.

I'll start taking votes the sometime in early January.

If you want us to buy your game, you really need to have a working demo considering the drastic change in style.

And what was it that someone said about RE7 and regional keys or something?

Windows 10 says my HDD is 0% fragmented and I've scanned it for errors several times and been given the all clear each time, but Steam still has disk write errors. Is my drive gonna drop dead or something? It's a Seagate.

Now it's giving me grief with my WD HDD too

It's Steam, disk write errors on my SSD too

Have you recently upgraded windows/reinstalled? It seems to be more of a folder permissions issue than anything physical.

Try the suggestions in this thread.

Uninstall that malware yo.

Maybe run malwarebytes and see if it solves the issue (it's free)?
I already ran Malwarebytes and it turned up nothing. But apparently it's part of an AV I use that recently decided to automatically (?) enable a certain feature.

Little googling seems to suggest that it's Game Booster that comes with 360 Total Security.

It's probably useless in actual game boosting.

Thanks! Weird that they've automatically enabled that feature, or I might have accidentally enabled it myself. I've been using 360 TS for almost a year without any trouble.

Anyway, I turned off that Game Booster shenanigans and all is good again.

it's definitely not for me but really hoping re7 turns out good

that series needs a jolt of new life and would be nice if they found it wherever that is

It didn't need anything but a good campaign to support this.

Cleaning up abandoned 2016 games going well. Finished Obduction today. Really good game, although the ending was kind of lackluster. Can't decide if I like The Witness or Obduction better.

they need to make a confident game, whatever that looks like

Going to push for 52 games this year. I completed like, 10 super short ones at the beginning of 2016 so if I don't do it this year I'm never gonna :p

RE6 and its crossbar inventory can go to hell

latest

Evil Within still pisses me off. Mikami gave me RE and DC, two of my biggest favorites. But seems third time wasn't the charm when it comes to horror. Would still play an Evil Within 2 day one though.

RE5s inv system was bad but RE6 took the cake.
WHAT WERE THEY THINKING

RE5 has a better inventory than RE4 easily. Do you care less, yeah a bit. However it's on the fly usage is ace. Makes more sense, than being able to pause time in a tense moment to change your weapon, and to play inventory tetris.

Also it's pretty useful in higher level mercs play, where you can reload on the fly during animations.

TEW is a better stealth/action game than it is horror. You're never particularly dreading what's around the corner, but it still has that Silent Hill-style atmosphere at times. What does save it is the core gameplay which is definitely more hit than miss. I love throwing bottles at running enemies and getting in a knife kill.

Change for the sake of it. RE5's inventory was bad in how small it was, but compensated somewhat by allowing you to store unused items as well as hotkey weapons. RE6's inventory is just cumbersome to deal with during play, which negatively affects the experience drastically.

You should play RealMyst Masterpiece before you touch Riven.

Here are some tips:
- There's a note on the ground near the docks--this'll help you get started
- Puzzles in Myst don't really involve your inventory, they involve figuring out how the world works. So read everything you can, play with things, and make notes about what works and what doesn't.
- Get an actual physical notepad and pen and take notes instead of using a FAQ
- No, really, don't use a FAQ
- You don't need a FAQ
- Don't use a FAQ
- There are no puzzles in Myst that require you to look up the answers in a FAQ
- You can solve the puzzles yourself, I promise
- If you absolutely have to cheat, you should talk to people who have played instead of looking up the answers in a FAQ
- If you want to look up the answers in a FAQ, don't even bother playing, just watch a 2 minute speedrun video and say the game.

Riven is about 200 times harder than Myst. Good luck.

That's what bothered me about TEW. The game wasn't scary, and the action was worse than most other titles in it's genre. You could cheese so many fights with the light arrow and stabbing enemies. Aside from that, i'm really picky about Silent Hill style horror, and I don't think TEW pulled it off. The story felt very weak and just a vessel for Mikami to connect these ideas he had probably been sitting on for years that he wanted to cram into one game. The only memorable moment for me was with Laura. I really liked that.

RE6's inventory is indeed the weakest of them all. But on the same hand, depending on play-style rarely needs to be bothered with. Since you can quickly combine herbs with the shortcut, and you should be using melee most of the time for kills.

However it's been annoying more than a few times when you're somehow full on random shit, and need to pick up and herb or first aid spray.

TEW is like a story with good prose but a shoddy, patchwork narrative. The acts don't flow well, and there's a blatant sense that the writer had interesting ideas but faltered when actually placing pen to paper. Depending on the traits you personally favor and emphasize, a piece of work can be great or terrible.

I'm a prose guy.

The crossbow was obviously a concession (crutch) to stop the game just short of feeling unfair during the first playthrough. (I've seen a lot of posts complaining about TEW's difficulty even on normal). If you know how to utilize it properly, the game becomes a significant cakewalk. (This applies to the locker key system as well)

Also, what other games besides RE would you put in the same genre as TEW? Definitely not Uncharted, Gears, or Tomb Raider.

I don't understand that reasoning, as it has its own store page and isn't a demo attached to the RE7 page.. and why would it being classified as an f2p app mean it couldn't be downloaded?

Speak for yourself! :) Those games with creepy gory monsters and dark rooms covered in viscera just really get to me.

The enemies in TEW aren't really terrifying as they are borderline grotesque and unnerving. Which can be scary, but I do see where Jaw is coming from.

Like, Bloodborne has never threatened to keep me awake at night.

The last time I was really scared playing a game, I was a kid playing RE3. The only thing that gets to me is a jump scare, which is the cheapest way of being scary. I'm talking in general though, and not specifically about TEW.

When I read comments on the RE7 demo, and people legitimately scared of the game I question a lot of things. Especially since I don't consider myself very strong willed towards horror. But it's hard for me to be scared of things that don't exist and could never happen. Though it can still happen, but it rarely happens. As I said above the bit with laura in TEW was the main time where I was feeling it.

Riven almost plays like an ARG. You can get a whole bunch of friends together and hope that one person figures out a given puzzle.

yeah i wasn't planning on playing riven (i don't even have a disk drive to put the cds in anymore lol), but i was planning on some day giving myst a shot

i bought that super version of realmyst on gog a while ago so it's there waiting for me

i feel like i know that game from playing the witness tho
