Devil's Dare is so good , is a beat em up with some roguelike elements , you can pick between 4 levels in any order and each time you beat a level the other ones become longer , also when you beat a level you get 4 random upgrades that you can buy with the money that enemies drop when you beat them , the gameplay has some interesting mechanics like run cancel to cancel punches into specials or cancel specials into other specials to get longer combos , there is also 4 player coop , only offline though

If you are looking to pad out your completion numbers, EPOCH can be finished in like an hour or less. It's like a shitty Infinity Blade with guns. The port is nice though, ran at 4K60 and actually looked pretty impressive for originating from a tablet.

I conned a friend into accepting it as a gift so I didn't have to risk it devaluing my games list.

Thanks everyone!
Well, I guess with prices that cheap so often buying frenzy is bound to happen, but I will try to resist temptations.
My next purchases will probably be The Evil Within, Murdered : Soul Suspect, and the FF-XIII games, when they will reach reasonable prices.
With all the japanese games incoming, such as Neptunia, Fairy Fencer F, and so many to come (I even heard about Akiba's Trip), I decided to finally enter the Steam World.
Which already available japanese games do you suggest?

This is going to be a really weird post:

My dad just got his credit card statement for the company and there was a charge from "steampowered" for 49 cents on it.

I don't know his business card number. I have my own account for Steam and use a separate card.

Is this some super random coincidence where they mistakenly charged my dad? What the hell is 49 cents on that website anyway?

I remember I bought the Orange Box just for Portal. I never had the half life games, and I still haven't finished HL2, but Portal was the bomb, and I ended up playing a lot of TF2

Oh my... My Christmas holiday has just been made.

I just received a package from my crush (it's the first crush I've had in a couple years, I haven't quite told her how I feel yet) with an overly heartfelt note attached saying I changed her life in her moment of despair when she was falling into a pit thinking the world was monstrous just by being my quirky self and hoping to spend a lot more time in the new year, and included a boxed copy of Wasteland 2 in it.

I am seriously touched.

You can check your own Steam transaction history to make sure you haven't had a 49 cents transaction that matches with it. From the main store site, click the drop-down in the upper right-hand corner and select 'account details'. From there, you'll be able to browse by 'Licences + Subscriptions', 'Store Transactions', 'Game Transactions', and 'Market Transactions'.

But if, like you said, you don't know that credit card number, it's almost certainly fraud. Weird though, usually after a very small transaction to test the card is working the fraudster goes to town with the big purchases.

Seeing Trails in the Sky in the top sellers list warms the heart.

Hahaha genius! Why didn't I think of that instead of loading my account up with all this bundle junk. Keep a couple of relatives happy, get to family share and not have shit loads of stuff I'm not too keen on in my account.

This is one of the sweetest things i've heard in weeks.
There's a big, red and flashing QTE saying "Press A for good timing" above your head. Don't keep watching the cutscene to see what happens.
And she's got a good taste in games, to boot.

Hmmm, so, BazBlue is not available in EU, anyone knows if the key from Nuuvem is region locked or would I get any trouble activating it? same questions for Lego Harry Potter 1 & 2 ?

I pushed yet another update to my NeoGAF MonkeyBot-script, which fixes a bug reported by a GAFfer (thanks!) and makes the localStorage naming much more consistent. Those that have the script installed should get it automatically, others can load it here:

As always, report issues via PM or at GitHub instead of this thread :)

Anyone have any positive impressions of The Detail? http://store.steampowered.com/app/319970

The thread on LA Noire yesterday made me want another detective game, and I'm not buying LA Noire again after getting sick of it on 360 years ago.

I totally bought LA Noire again btw.

LA Noire is a good game that slacks off. It could have been a lot more enjoyable.

What a phenomenal gift, she must have done her research! That is a keeper.

I say ask your crush out to dinner under the pretences of thanking her for the gift. Conversation over a bottle of wine will go a long way, see how the night goes.

Yeah, we were wondering if that was the case, but there were no other big transactions made. I'll check my transaction history. Thanks!

I have never played Hitman before, any of the games worth playing?

Blood Money and Silent Assassin are some of the all time great PS2 era stealth games. Especially Silent Assassin. Make sure to play them. Contracts is also pretty good. Not as memorable as the others but has some good moments and a glorious soundtrack.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

Grief's got the moves! Seriously Dusk, that's awesome and sounds like it could be the start of something nice. Congrats, dude.

For Japanese games, a few misc ones I'd recommend off the top:

(I'm going to take Japanese games by meaning with Japanese flavor to them. For example, Resident Evil 4 Ultimate HD Edition is a fantastic, Japanese-made game most know about, but it lacks Japanese flavor to it, being very heavily based on American B-Horror movies).

In alphabetical order as I'm going through my game list:

100% Orange Juice: http://store.steampowered.com/app/282800
^Fun online board game with RPG elements and cards you collect and use, a bit luck-based, but very fun.

Agarest Games;
Generations of War: http://store.steampowered.com/app/237890
Generations of War Zero: http://store.steampowered.com/app/260130/
^SJRPG Waifu War games, some flaws but enjoyable if you like the elements the game builds-up.

Astebreed: http://store.steampowered.com/app/283680
^A very good shmup from Japan featuring mechas and interesting 3D environments.

Bunny Must Die! Chelsea and the 7 Devils: http://store.steampowered.com/app/250660
^Zany Metroidvania with devious traps and hard bosses.

Chantelise: Take of Two Sisters: http://store.steampowered.com/app/70420
^Unique 3D Action-RPG where you and your sister-turned-fairy do a variety of tasks while trying to restore her back to her human form, mostly by raiding dungeons and fighting deadly bosses.

Cherry Tree High Series;
Comedy Club: http://store.steampowered.com/app/214610
My! Girls!: http://store.steampowered.com/app/333220
^Comedy Visual Novel-esque games kind of like the social linking from Persona simplified, where you must manage your time to survive and win over peoples hearts.

Eryi's Action: http://store.steampowered.com/app/261700
^Troll rage-platforming game that's overly cutsey and difficult

Fairy Bloom Freesia: http://store.steampowered.com/app/214590
^Beat-em up where you fight off forces trying to destroy nature as a fairy of the forest.

Final Fantasy games: There's several of them on Steam now, so yeah.

Fortune Summoners: http://store.steampowered.com/app/203510
^Side-scrolling action-RPG where you play as a girl in a new village who makes classmate friends to help her combat the forces of evil. Challenging.

Go! Go! Nippon! ~My First Trip To Japan~: http://store.steampowered.com/app/251870
^This visual novel is kind of dumb, to the point it almost because good again. It's kind of like... Trying to teach you things about Japan like an educational game with a strange waifu front. Take it as you will.

GundeadliGne Series:
GundeadliGne: http://store.steampowered.com/app/92220
Gundemonium Recollection: http://store.steampowered.com/app/92200
Hitogata Happa: http://store.steampowered.com/app/92210/
^Bullet Hells inspired by Touhou obviously, have some good variety in stages, bosses, first one has online co-op for two people, the last one is the toughest.

Half-Minute Hero Series;
Super Mega Neo Climax Ultimate Boy: http://store.steampowered.com/app/214830
The Second Coming: http://store.steampowered.com/app/240970

Hatoful Boyfriend: http://store.steampowered.com/app/310080
^A great visual novel about birds.

Jet Set Radio: http://store.steampowered.com/app/205950
^Fun old Dreamcast game where you skate around and plant spray paint marks against a growing Tokyo Police Force who are coming down on people's freedom.

NiGHTS Into Dreams: http://store.steampowered.com/app/219950
^Old SEGA Saturn game about dreams and a magical jester against nightmares.

planetarian ~the reverie of a little planet~: http://store.steampowered.com/app/316720
^A moving short visual novel by Key, the people who made Air, Clannad, Kanon, Angel Beats, Little Busters, etc. They know their feels.

Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale: http://store.steampowered.com/app/70400
^A fantastic indie game where you run a shop and have to keep it in business as you send warriors to collect loot and manage your store against competition and tricky customers.

There's MUCH more out there, though, and more coming. Even more I could name but limited myself to ones I've played and recognize are Japan-flavored.

dude this is awesome. sounds like she's quite the catch.

get on with explaining your feels.

We met about a year and a half ago a bit unintentionally while I was on vacation and travelling. We kept in touch and talked on things like Facebook, Skype, phone, etc. I travel a lot, but anyways it's one of those situations we started being able to talk about anything and on free days we'd manage to talk for hours and hours.

She's very intelligent, she's in her last year of university as it is and is ranked near top of her grade, she's not from the US originally, but from Singapore in Asia, and can speak multiple languages, though English is her preferred language (though she speaks Chinese with her parents). She was a bit secluded from most people though due to past things that had been effecting her and I didn't realize it at first when I met her as she puts on an overly happy front, she was sinking into depression and was closing herself off from a lot of people. However, I'm pretty good at reading people so after talking a it I totally guessed her situation during one of our first conversations, which she was surprised I figured that out so easily. For me I've spent a lot of time growing up helping people with their problems and such, so this sort of thing comes naturally to me and I can spot people wearing masks to hide other feelings pretty easily, though I hardly call it out though I did in this example, I'm not sure why.

Anyways, we started talking a lot. She has a bad habit of overly working herself, over-exerting herself at her job and school so she can earn money and do well in school, she didn't really have an outlet for releasing all the stress building up in her so I sort of took it on myself to make sure she was taking care of herself. With most people, she seems super serious, I've seen it and it's how she describes herself, most of her classmates thinks she's super cold, but she's opened up a lot to me relatively easily and usually ends up super giggly. We also have formed a lot of strange communication things, I talk kind of oddly to begin with as I have a lot of strange mannerisms (I say things like Oui, yai, yar, hoi-choi, and a few catch-phrases mostly subconsciously all the time), she adapted a few of them unconsciously by talking to me a lot, sometimes when we're being silly we just make noises when talking, or randomly meow (long story).

She's currently visiting family in Singapore for the holidays, she said she was sending me a gift, I told her she didn't need too, but it came in and it's incredibly sweet. The note is over two pages long and it's very heartfelt. I'm in a very good mood now because of all of this.

I'm surprised she chose Wasteland 2 though, I didn't know what the gift was going to be, so a game was surprising, let along that game. She does like SRPGs, so I'm guessing that may have something to do with it.

im not really sure if this games are japanese but i would recommend :

Crimzon Clover World Ignition

Croixleur Sigma

100% Orange Juice

QP Shooting - Dangerous!!

They are all Japanese, and out of that list I would most strongly recommend Crimzon Clover.

There is also Revolver360, which I would recommend getting from Playism. Cheaper than Steam, and you get a Steam key.

You can get Touhou 14 from Playism JP as well, no key for that one but it is a good game.

Astebreed and Reccetear are others I'd recommend.

I just enjoyed my 5 seconds internet fame and read a few updated articles on gaming sites. And boy, oh boy. Most of them are terrible, because they don't make clear that the information come from some guy on the internet. I know that I am not making shit up, but who else knows? Some are even reporting it as facts. Only VG247 and Eurogamer have updates that also inform the readers that the source is unconfirmed and that Bandai Namco didn't say anything yet. Really scary how some media work with information.

I mean, look at this for example:
UPDATE: A third-party hired to handle Bandai Namco's affairs has made a mistake while tackling a new wave of Dark Souls debug mode patches - a mistake they're now working to rectify. DSFix should soon be available via Dropbox once more. Original story follows.
http://www.pcgamesn.com/dark-souls-...le-copyright-complaint-against-durantes-dsfix

There is my post behind that link, but no indication given, that I am a nobody with no record or position of anything and everything written as if it were facts.
