Some of us don't like to play the same Naughty Dog game for two decades.Weaker than a Base PS5?
If this isn't $350-$400 I see no point.
Is there a more/equally powerful home theater type small form PC for around 500 atm? I imagine it could cost similar to current Deck (no built in screen/controller stuff, likely easier assembly/less amazing cooling solution needed and stuff) but Idk.the specs are fine if this is indeed entry level. like if this is 300€ I will instantly buy it.
but I have this weird feeling that it will be priced above 500€, at which point it's not worth the price
Steam Cube?
Nintendo:

Specs are indeed weaksauce. It's basically Steam Deck but for 4k TVs.Man, imagine the posts here if Microsoft launched their next console as an RDNA 3 + fsr3 console with 8GB VRAM.
Because they got beat to market with what's essentially the same concept? Being a first mover is essential when you are trying to trailblaze. How in the world is it 'baffling' when anyone playing in the high end space is waiting for RDNA 5?
You missed the Steam Deck & dock?Didn't have a Valve Switch on the cards.
Oh damn I missed that I guess. The specs are already out, seems like a mixed bag. 8GB VRAM seems very low for 2025 onward for something being targeted to run on monitors/TV's.

That's a few weirdos rather than a "crowd"!Not the ROG Ally Xbox X or Legion Go 2 crowd.
If they follow the Steam Deck model, the next more powerful Steam Machine could be 4 to 5 years away (If they even bother releasing another one). I love the idea of the Steam Cube, plug it to a 4k TV, press one button on the controller and boom, I'm in Steam OS ready to play my Steam games. For those complaining about the specs - remember that it could be an entry level console with a more powerful version coming later.
I didn't say just any PC, small form factor matters (and reduces upgrading options too, even ram can be an issue then, as well as new bigger GPU models).you probably can get a 500€ PC with that spec.
0 interest in prebuilt PCs.

Bingo. It really feels like they've made an android TV box out of a midrange phone, yes.Specs are indeed weaksauce. It's basically Steam Deck but for 4k TVs.
Compared to the competition Nintendo hardware is relatively low in price. And it matters when comparing it to other devices. Pricing matters, power doesn't. Sooner these companies realize that the better. 10 million Switch 2 sales in around 4 months is phenomenal. It's not an accident it's selling so well in this climate of prices going higher and higher on everything.Nintendo is amoung the least powerful, yet they push prices sky high anyway.
Can't wait to play Veilguard on this thing!![]()
where are my chad master race gamers
So just to be sure, you can use the full power of your PC right? Can we get native rendering trought a cable or we are forced with streaming?TLDW: Lightweight, wireless with no latency and great visual quality?

Not exactly. Consoles have different OS and some worthy exclusives.also known as "consoles".
Because Call of Duty is one the biggest-selling series of all time and there is much more of a sales opportunity for it on a small userbase mostly consisting of casual people playing live service games than there is for, like, Far Cry. This is like pointing out that FIFA still came out on PS3 in 2018.Call of Duty is still on last-gen consoles. Why is that? The jump between hardware from this gen to next is going to be much smaller, while being more expensive. Graphics as a whole have very clearly stagnated. It feels like this generation has just started. There is a zero percent chance that the cross-gen period won't be much longer than previous generations. Insane to think otherwise
It's obvious this is bad news for Microsoft. DF said Valve is looking to partner with companies on more powerful machines.Even Welfare thinks so as well.
Haven't heard anything about cables. This is what they say when it comes to connecting with your PC:So just to be sure, you can use the full power of your PC right? Can we get native rendering trought a cable or we are forced with streaming?
Those are my 2 questions, but I definitely want one.
Wireless Adapter and Dual Radios
The included plug-and-play 6GHz wireless adapter provides a dedicated link for both VR and non-VR streaming. Steam Frame's dual radios make this connection even more stable: One radio is dedicated to streaming the audio and visuals, and the other connects to your Wi-Fi. Two dedicated links, no competition for bandwidth.
Keyword there being "too", so I guess yeah you are able to steam your non-VR games and play them using your whole PC power. I mean, the Steam Deck already supports that, would be weird for this to don'tSupports stand-alone play, too
Steam Frame is a PC, and runs SteamOS powered by a Snapdragon® 8 Series Processor. With 16GB of RAM, Steam Frame supports stand-alone play on a growing number of both VR and non-VR games without needing to stream from your PC.
Don't give a fuck about any specs, price, whatever. Just tell me that this thing plays the new Half-Life. That's what I wanna hear, you fat fucks.
You can feel his salt about being beat to the punch.
I d'nt think there're two slots. There's definitelly one that is upgradeable and you can use full lenght nvme driveBut I wonder if you can slip extra NVMe SSDs in there somehow. (I haven't read this thread in my excitement, yet.)
