Another vote for Cold Fear here.
Reading Ken Levine's top 10 list of 2013 has convinced me to get Unity of Command by the end of this sale. That game has been sitting on my wishlist for ages.

I have to say though the Dock-Parts are really boring and kinda generic, while I loved the whole japan-parts. But I am just at chapter 8 so I hope it will improve again.

Solo is fine in DayZ, you just have to be patient and observant. That's really all it takes to be "good" at DayZ. If you spot someone else before they spot you, then you're at a huge advantage, and if you take the time to flank or move into a safe position, you'll be set.

I don't like Hard Reset.
Shadow Warrior is fifty bajillion times better. Oh, and the narrative's actually beautifully tragic by the end. Wonderful game, my pick for Game of the Year. One of the best game stories I've encountered.

i vote for portal 2, i played don't starve only for like a couple of hours and it's very nice but portal 2 is a hell of a game
One of my favorite games of all time for sure.
Don't Starve, DayZ, and Dark Souls are some of my more recent favorite gaming experiences, and they have all graced the top 5 at different points in the past 24 hours.
Good to see Portal 2 and an Early Access game, Prison Architect rounding out the rest of the top ten.

If you've never played Portal 2? Portal 2. It's a masterpiece. Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. If you've already played Portal 2? Don't Starve.

You are asking apples or oranges there. Both are amazing but I got a lot more out of Don't Starve if you want to look at raw hours played.

awesome game. If you like sim type games, youd like PA. Its challenging if you want it to be, or can be played leisurely. prisoners are a little unpredictable at times(more so than what actual prisoners are) and game is still not fully released, so there is bugs. some monster sized prisons are fun to run from the workshop.
Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth for me. I want that game badly, thinking of picking it up last day of the sale if it doesn't see a larger discount.

if you havent played it? yeah definitely. The gun and melee combat is simply superb. As a resident evil game it falls flat on it's ass and breaks both of it's legs. As a pure cheesy action game that would make Micheal bay shed a tear it works perfectly.
MP is a blast and has a ton of replayability as well as online co-op.

I know it's not a whole lot, but this was one of my two favorite games from last year and I think everyone should play it.

Haha yeah, that's the sad part, cant think of any other game where you can make a quick match-up and play a few races.. Make someone who have the game play and win the game for you
