I think they said by year's end at some point (which obviously didn't happen). Sadly, the Codemasters forums are dead and all those posts are lost for now.

So guys, a little question that I fear will be flooded and forgotten in an instant during this time of the year (Gabenmas).
Yesterday there was a sale for Steam Marines and the game made me remember another one. Covered on RPS, still not released, sci-fi strategy in a spaceship. Top down view ala rogue-like. It was IMHO a little nicer looking and above all there was this work on UI, I remember some orders were displayed circularly around the soldiers.
Now, if anybody could help, this sure is the type of "oh god I've got the name on the tip of my tongue" thing.

I have only played 1, 2 and 3 myself. And I would say 2 is the best, then 3 and lastly 1.

Hell, I think if you went into 1 now with the mindset that it was the first game in the series, it holds up better than 3. AC was so innocent and wide eyed back then

I'm sure it does. It's just that the first game was a very forgettable experience for me.

How bad is Assassin's Creed III? Is it really bad, or are people exaggerating?

The pacing is horrible. After 6 hours you're still in tutorial mode. You're on a very tight leash the first half of the game, then it opens up... with just way too much side stuff to do. The game goes from 0 to 11 instead of a gradual progression. Most of the optional missions I didn't even bother to check out, like crafting, the homestead, naval missions, etc. There's no reason or incentive ingame do so either. There's just so much bloat it becomes overwhelming.

How is Giana Sisters?

The music is catchy and I like the character switch mechanic that renders the world in different styles/reveals different things. It's pretty, and I've had fun with it. Just don't go in expecting anything amazing. It's a pretty solid game and you'll likely want to play it a level or two at a time, since it can get a little repetitive.

ripped out the IR filter, slapped 3 IR LEDs on a cap and... wow.
ETS2 is now even more fun than it was before

again hoping that Assetto Corsa is getting a discount, I really want to try that one out with headtracking too, it's really neat
