If you're wondering: yes there are people who don't own SMB!

Well, not anymore... It's impossible not to buy it at 95% off!

Well shit Guess I missed out on SP.
I'll get it tomorrow or wait and see if it drops in price.

In addition to being $13.59 on Steam, it was also available on ubisoft's store as part of a buy 1 get 1 free promotion a few weeks back. You could buy Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris (Steam key) for $18 I think, and get South Park (Steam key) for free.

Or you could get Tropico 5 (Steam) for $14 and get South Park (Steam) free. This is the deal I went with.

I don't know if it was a mistake or not, but the deals were up for a few days so I'm thinking that South Park should get cheaper.

Should I pick up Lords of the Fallen for $20? I'm interested in the game itself, but I've heard some negative impressions on the technical end.

I'm waiting for $15 or less. The price dropped ridiculously fast, so I'm sure it'll hit it soon.

Empire at War yay or ney?

I say yay as a casual fan of Star Wars at most, and someone who appreciates a sit back and relax RTS.

As a RTS it never really moves beyond being decent and competent and can even seem a bit basic at times when compared to the bigger names of the genre or more robust space strategy games, but it's a good fun experience single player missions or skirmish wise to relaxingly play through and simply conquer a planet or solar system without every getting too bogged down in complex requirements or specialised tactics. It's easy to figure out what forces work best against what enemy, how to make best advantage of boosts from sending resources to a planet before you engage it for control (e.g. sending R2D2 to steal tech from the Empire), and nothing is ever confusing about the terrain or pathfinding for your troops.
To be clear I'm not saying it's simple or overly easy, just that it won't be overly demanding as some RTS games can become in figuring out it's intricacies.

Note however that online multiplayer no longer works, so it is a single player affair. Which if playing for a sit back and relax style, or something to come back to every now and then every couple of days for a single long campaign mode (conquer a solar system), it does off a lot to do and cover.

As a Star Wars game it checks off every box required to feel like a game for the franchise, where everything looks and sounds right, and the story does actually fit between movies without worry (as far as I know anyroad). It even comes with a cinematic view if you want to make the ground or space battles feel closer to the movies, at least until the novelty wears off on it.

Plenty of good mods out there as well. http://www.moddb.com/games/star-wars-empire-at-war/downloads

Torchlight 2 for $4 isn't bad. Already have it though. Still really want to see Banished at 66%+ off. Maybe tomorrow?

Just a little heads up: It's 57% off (6,99€) on the humble store right now, which translates to 63% on the steam store :)

Does anyone have an idea whether or not the Oddbox might get featured discount?

Is XCOM Enemy Unknown worth getting at $7.50? How well does it compare with the original form 1993?

It's a great game, but very different from the 1993/1994 X-COM. If you get it, make sure to get Enemy Within as well.

If you're looking for a game that's more similar to the original game, give Xenonauts a try. It's extremely faithful to the old games while adding a fresh coat of paint and much-needed balance changes.

HOW THE HELL DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS GAME BEFORE? WHY IS IT NOT ON 80% SALE! I DEMAND ANSWERS!

I think that it's almost perfect in comparison as in that's it's both close enough and different enough compared to the original.

It doesn't have quite the same depth in the strategy layer, which can make replays a bit samey in that aspect, but I think the battles are much more fun in this. You have less soldiers and less items available in them, which causes you have to make much tougher choices of what to bring to the battles, and it also has a great pace to them, and quite a hectic feeling.

The Evil Within is an amazing game. I can't play it for more than 30-45 minutes at a time, though. It's not really scary, just incredibly tense due to ammo constraints and enemy lethality.

Can someone give me an Age of Wonders III pitch seems very much like Heroes of Might and Magic.
How does it compare to Heroes of M&M III (in my personal opinion the best of it's kind)?

It's actually pretty similar to the HoMM series. Same town management style, same combat style, same map style. Each army is controlled by a heroe. Heroes have different classes, level up and can cast spells and be equipped with items.

Not yet, i think, wait for season pass discount and than buy whole game.

My downloads so far:

- GTA IV (broken but I'll see if I can patch it to be good ^^)*
- Mirror's Edge
- Just Cause (wow this is fun, even if it's a bit clunky nowadays ^^)
- Just Cause 2 (better gameplay, didn't play a lot :))
- Age of Wonders III (didn't touch it yet)
- Burnout: Paradise (just played a bit, hope it's some good arcade fun)

*Edit: does the icehancer mod work with the steam version?

You are in for a treat.
My last arcade racer on the PC was Need for Speed: Underground. ^^

Didn't play PC games for a looong time, now that I have a decent PC I started to backtrack some games.

maan, Mirror's Edge is so good, only played like 1 hour back then on the PS3, I love the concept, never imagined that EA would produce something like this lol.

And I'd reeeeeally like to try this with Oculus Rift, but we still have to wait a year for the consumer version. ;__;

This and either Star Citizen or Elite: Dangerous. ^^

Woah, Amazon UK is the new Amazon US

I noticed SimCity is also available for 4.99 pounds!

Black Flag is actually 6.99. Deluxe edition is 8.99!!

Super Meat Boy -95%, wow. I should buy some gift copies, but who doesn't own it already?

I don't. I've been tempted, but I don't use a controller and I've never been good at precise timing. I'd probably end up dying 1000 times on the tenth screen and giving up.

TBH I don't even know what kind of game it is.

It's a super-hard platformer. It almost fits in to the "frustration platformer" category like I Wanna Be the Guy, but it's apparently more fair than that.

It's just an amazing 2D platformer. The difficulty is somewhat overstated. The difficulty curve is so good that you'll soon be breezing through levels that seemed devilishly hard at first, that's the beauty of the game. There are some very challenging bonus stages, but they're optional.

Oh, and keyboard works fine. I 100%'ed the game that way and I even have most of the no death achievements (I'm tempted to go back and get the last few). I've spent 125 hours with that game, selling it for under 1€ is craaaazy!
