It should have been a single player game, that's true. Still glad though that Funcom keeps going despite the mediocre reception and playerbase. They made something really unique.

Yeah, I dont like MMO because they can drain the little "social life" that I have, but in the future I will give a try.

The only MMO that I wanted to play in the first day is already cancelled: Vampire Masquerade MMO. Damn !

But hey, maybe is a good think that CCP cancelled the Vampire Masquered MMO, because now the risk of I becoming a hikikomori is 0%.

Secret World? Any good?

I had a lot of fun with it. Bought it when it first launched and it was my go-to MMO for over a year (the last one I played for any time, actually). It can be almost completely solo'd, though if you're not looking for a group experience. The investigation missions are some tough cookies if you're into puzzle solving as well, there were several that took a lot of digging for me to complete and a couple that I had to use a walkthrough to get past. For $10 it's a steal to just finish the original "campaign" and issues 1 through 4. Hell, it's worth $10 to just do the first 3 Soloman Island adventure zones. Not sure if the Massive Edition is worth it as a lot of the added content won't be seen until much later on.

There's a lot more content now, but the late game still consists of a lot of grinding which will probably turn off a lot of people, but you'll have more than gotten your $10 out of it by the time you reach the top tier of things. And there's no longer a monthly sub, but there is still a cash shop and pretty much any future content has to be paid for.

I'd say go for it if you think you'd like the atmosphere, it has a LOT of interesting stories to see.

It might be a bit harrowing for a first MMO. Most of the tooltips and tutorials seem geared towards having MMO experience and being at least a little bit versed in the lingo. Won't say that it's impossible to catch on, but the skill system can be quite complex, but you can just pick a predefined "skill deck" to follow and then experiment later as you progress further into the game.

KOTOR is has a daily deal attached to it now and is going for $3.99. I want to get it since the Xbox game simply doesn't function on a 360. A few questions, though:

1. For system requirements, it says that I need Windows XP or Windows Vista. I guess this means that it's not compatible with Windows 8.1?

2. Should I get KOTOR2? I heard it was worse than the first game, but I'm not sure on the details.

I ran both games on Windows 7 without a problem.

I don't know who said that KOTOR II is worse than the original because I found it better, especially with the Restored Content Mod. I'd highly recommend getting KOTOR II as well and playing it with the Restored Content Mod. It's literally one of the best games ever.

Get the base game. The massive edition contains three excellent quest series but they're aimed at high levels. It will be a while before you're able to do them. You can buy them later on separately if you're interested.

Yes, DLC content packs. Issue 5 has a new muti-mission self-contained storyline. Issue 6 has an Indiana Jones themed storyline, with a new in-game currency and vendors with items you can only buy with that currency. Issue 7 is a James Bond themed storyline and it expands on the currency system introduced in issue 6. All three Issues are essentially end game content.

I would put my money in the massive edition because the new storyline inspired in Indiana Jones and James Bond.

The store page was taken down but the sub is still available (which is what matters). On the flipside, 9's sub page is still up also, however its status was changed to "Unavailable", so you just get a generic transaction error when attempting to purchase it.

LOTR is definitely worth it but I didn't enjoy The Hobbit as much.

KOTOR 2 is a far more rewarding experience than KOTOR, but they're both excellent WRPGs. Even KOTOR, which is a pretty accessible, watered down WRPG is far more complex and content filled than anything Bioware's made in the decade since.

KOTOR 2 is fantastic with the restored content. As well written as any game.

Its a great expansion, the mech suits kind of break the game but they are so stinking fun to play with that its worth it. The missions are quite good.

I doubt it, but definitely buy Enemy Within, it's a huge expansion that adds so much to the game it's nuts.

Base invasions, Human Enemy terrorist cells that try to undermine your operations, and tons of new tile sets and some new friendly/enemy units and technology. It takes a fantastic game and makes it even better.

I agree with this.

Dungeon Defenders is OK at first...but its not as exciting as it should be.

I've played both alone and with a group and have dropped off it entirely (might get back into it in the future) but Orcs Must Die is one of the best tower defense games I've played though.

Wish they would make a 3rd one instead of a MOBA D:

Just FYI: We ditched the MOBA mode. DD2 is purely an Action Tower Defense game just like the first game.

Price won't go lower. Worth it at full price. Only played expansion once but is was the most memorable and fun game I played all year.

If I'm enjoying the new Need for Speed Most Wanted (and have bought Burnout Paradise on the same basis), would I enjoy the new Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (or any of the other NFS games on sale)?

If you love the old Hot Pursuit games you will love the new ones, pretty fantastic in my opinion.

Although if you want more of a sim, NFS Shift 2 is fantastic.

just as a friendly reminder for those unaware and don't own it: Defy Gravity Extended has a 95% discount and is 9 cents.

It drops three cards if I'm not mistaken, each of which sells for more (8-12 cents average) than the current price of the actual game.

edit: hmm, actually there are more games with this ehm.... issue. Well, just one, and the other is bad rats, and I'm still clean from that one.

edit2: what I meant was is that Defy Gravity is decent enough on its own, and not total garbage with cards.
