Considering the gameplay, I think it will be pretty hard to play the game with a controller no?

Actually it's simpler if you have the program to set it up (read: it costs)

You can target and swap in a single button press which makes areas where you have to swap as you're falling/moving easy.

Still, kb/m is the way to go.. I felt the same way when I first bought Swapper, gave up on finding a free option to get the controller working and never looked back. The game is that good.

Welcome to the Steam sales! The land of buying games that go into your backlog never to be played!
The real game is adding to your backlog.

Yeah, Im at 330 games, I'm no stranger to backlog. I tend to be a little more reserved on my purchasing strategies though. Hoping after all this that the next sale or two will just be nothing but things I already have.

The thing I love about PC gaming is that (as others have told me) you can buy boatloads of games for the cost of one full-priced retail game. I've probably picked up a good 30-40 games for less than $50.

Oh FFS just when I though I could stop focusing on adding to my game count Anno 1404 rears it's bloody head after over 2+years of exile (I know you mentioned some rumblings a while back Jase). I said to myself just Dark Souls 2 and only something reeeeally special for this year.

So, it seems the sale is ending in a couple of hours. With that in mind, here's my final haul:

I guess the positive to this is that I can play what I want once again, without being beholden to card drops.

Damages:
  1. Hammerwatch
  2. Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare
  3. Mass Effect
  4. Doom 3: BFG Edition
  5. Trials Evolution Gold
  6. Mirror's Edge
  7. Amnesia: Machine for Pigs
  8. The Witcher: Enhanced Edition
  9. Fallout 2
  10. DuckTales Remastered
  11. Rogue Legacy
  12. Sid Meier's Civilization V: Brave New World
  13. The 39 Steps

Thoughts:
  • More people should play Trials. What is wrong with you? If you do, add me on Steam.
  • Amnesia seems well done, but not nearly as well done as Outlast. Will stick with it though.
  • Hammerwatch will be my new addiction. How long it lasts remains to be seen, but it's exactly what I was looking for.

Outside of a few games I have already been there the last 2 years on all Steam sales. It sounds great but is kind of a bummer cause you don't get excited for the sales.

honorless

We don't have "get out of jail free" cards, but if we did, she'd have one.
Late night flash sale on Pacman CEDX and I missed it. Boo, Steam. Boo.
It was 33% off throughout the entire flash deal so you didn't miss anything. Unless you were using wallet money, might want to check other retailers to see if it is or will be $5 (or less!) somewhere else. I think it was $2.49 from Impulse (GameStop) but I have no idea if that deal's still good.

There were nondescript app updates here and there but several Ubi apps were updated at about the same time so they were pretty useless in determining intent. This is the first clear sign that Ubi finally plans to patch the game and put it back up on the store. I also mentioned King Kong and Tintin in my e-mail, but unfortunately those apps are as quiet as ever.

The following are my Steam purchases during the Winter Seal

Note that there are some games I didn't list since I didn't buy them from Steam but all in all, 50% of my Winter purchases are from GMG and Amazon.

Seems I spent under $100 on Steam titles for myself~

also curious

gamefly says 10 am on release day

that should give me enough time to preload it and play right when its available at noon

hopefully that works out

Guess I spoke too soon. Whoever you are ChaoticEcko, I hope your towns and cities burn, and fluffy woodland animals dissipate into air like a Marvel license.

The Steam equivalent of the drunk friend who keeps offering to pay your tab all night.

Anybody want a Foil #7 snowglobe? I'm going to be putting it up on the market if nobody's trying to make the foil badge. I will trade it for pretty much whatever, maybe to complete another normal snowglobe set. Need 3,4,6,8,10 right now.

The media will have a field day if someone has a heart attack while using this.

I plan on purchasing an Oculus Rift this year, i'll do a twitch stream and make sure to have a webcam on my face so you can hear/see my reactions. should be good.

What's supposed to be so good about Anno 1404?
As I understand it it is a 'city building' game but what makes it stand out?
