I'm not so sure that premise is true in the context of video games. Whenever someone shoots up a school or commits a terrorist act, sooner or later they'll find out and report that he played violent video games such as Call of Duty. Then they have the inevitable debate: are video games too violent? Are they turning kids into killers? So no, I don't think most people are perfectly fine with violence.
THAT SAID, I'd agree that the ESRB rating system seems much more permissive to violent content than it is to sexual content.

8 isn't unfriendly and 10 will have the same app-store. It's just that nothing of what he and others feared would happen with 8 happened.
Already played though GTA V. It's alright. I doubt Witcher 3 will be better than PoE but we will see.

We've heard similar things before that proved to be unfounded. Until Valve forces everything to change (especially something like HuniePop with its simple "patch" for adult content), it seems more likely to either be developer misunderstanding or flat out lies. Especially in this case, it seems a lot more like the Dev wants to convince people to buy both versions because they have "different content."

I'm stoked for The Witcher III just as much, maybe more than the next person but it's going to have to be pretty flipping flawless in every single second of playtime to be up there with Pillars. Not to mention they are vastly different games but PoE has rewarded me in every aspect of the game from combat mechanics to party and companion banter and not to mention the amount of world lore I've read through so far in just 11 hours. Plus you know it's something special when Durante changed his avatar.
Daaamn, that's pretty nice! Yeah, it's been too long since we played something, man (seriously, why couldn't you squeeze a PS3 and a copy of Xrd in there, haha)

If what you say is true, that would sure put Valve in an awkward position. What do they say to that? "No, we never said that" and get accused of enabling pornographic content on Steam? "Yes, we said that" and start taking a hardline on existing nudity patches? Or do they just shut up and let everyone wonder what the fuck is going on at Valve...just like always?

Just played for 3 houts straight and didn't even realize it. You guys were right. I was pretty weary since I couldn't get in BG due to older mechanics not meshing well with me, but this is like the perfect middle ground. Even if I don't know what the hell I am rolling with my party. That's why I picked easy though. Any tips for the wizard? He seems to get his ass kicked way too often since he want to get too close to cast his spells. Only issue I have been having.

In the past the answer has always been "no we never said that" or nothing at all. Honestly, Valve's policy on adult content still seems pretty up in the air at this point, we've heard ratings are required, we've heard they aren't, we've seen an assortment of solutions from developers. Valve "policy" may just be set by whichever random employee happens to answer a Dev email on any given day. So like you said, the status quo, basically. And as such, I find it very unlikely that something as definitive as is implied by that post/tweet is actual reality.

Have a look at the custom formations you can set. Obviously have your tougher party members at the front and the squishier ones at the back. Scouting with a character with high stealth separate from your other party members gives you chance to see what's a head and plan accordingly. Planning, preparing and positioning as well as setting auto pause settings in the options makes things more manageable and don't be afraid to set battles to slow mode or toggle it when you feel things are getting a bit hectic as it's a fair bit quicker than other IE games. Can't comment on easy but not having a full party on hard gets you wrecked pretty fast if you're not prepared so finding some companions (they come thick and fast on the main path) or hiring adventurers before taking on tough encounters/quests is vital.
There's quite a few tips in the OT and Durante sums up a pretty simple explanation of using positioning and choke points to your advantage.

For a moment there I thought I was in the Vita thread lol.
Finished Jake's campaign. Came across more annoying bugs (couldn't jump during certain vital platforming sections, etc.). And the Elephant Killer is not anywhere near as strong as the grenade launcher. I think I died more in this campaign than the other two, because of the absolutely absurd number of unpredictable QTE's and instant kills. (That damn bike section)

I skipped all of the cutscenes this time around. Don't get why Jake and Chris hate each other- the former never knew his father, other than that he abandoned him and his mother. And Chris is without cause since Jake isn't in any way related to Wesker other than by blood. He's too level-headed to go sins of the father.

Is Wasteland 2 worth getting the deluxe version of? Seems the only extras are Bard's Tale and the novellas, hardly seems like an extra $20 worth of content.
Well... Writing-wise CDPR has always been excellent. PoE has incredible writing, but so did TW2. I think TW3 is gonna be a close contender, but it'll probably be down to gameplay preference

It appears that I'll be playing Life is Strange tonight. Looking forward to meeting that graham cracker.
But...this isn't true at all? There are tons of games with female breasts in them and a number with male genitalia and no one cares. The Witcher 2, for example, has a number of full female nude scenes including those with heavy petting and sexualized context.
And really, no one cared that The Order on PS4 had a bunch of non-monster dick in it either.
It's the context that crosses the line in these cases (if it's for real).

If TW3 is as good as I hope it is, I'll have a hard time picking between it and PoE. In which case I'll just pick both
Context is key, and it's part of the reason that Hatred got the rating it did and was originally barred from Steam for the very same reason.
