You'd woulda gotten my vote. ;p

Being a mod would be nice, but the whole Saoirse thing probably doesn't do me any favours. I didn't come here to rise up through the ranks, though, so if it never happens, well, no skin off my nose. I'm okay with being a Joe Bluename.

Got anything for Milamber?

He didn't request any. I wouldn't reveal any requests either unless given permission.

I was at a PC store in Beijing a couple of days ago.

I saw Falcom Games like Zwei. And a lot of eroges. My gf somehow wanted to get out of that store. I wonder why.

I did find some Falcom games and non-H games at different stores, but they were in general pretty expensive, more so than console games.

This comes as a shock to no one.
Wasn't a fan of FFX, but eh, I'd probably buy it when it's 75% off.

Where did you watch it?

I was answering your second question, sorry. I edited my post to clarify that. I haven't seen the presentation myself, but I read about it somewhere. Probably on here (GAF in general that is, not this thread).

Reminder that there is a pretty sweet keyboard up on Massdrop. I'm thinking I will do the flat plate option and grab one of these gray gray Tex aluminum cases.

When does Nuuvem usually give out pre-ordered keys?

i'm not sure i like smooth operators, i like the concept and i like the hilarity of how bad i am at running a business but i can't really appreciate what difference does it make how many people i hire or where they're sitting on whatever. the interfacing is also really bad with no hotkeys or easy to access shortcut icons or whatever and in some cases it's just a huge list you have to scroll through to find the right guy you want to change seats or whatever

enjoyed it for an hour, but i can't really find much of a strategy to play it, so i dunno if i'll try it again

im just rushing through a new hotline miami 1 playthrough as quick as my dizzy head allows. also i'm theorizing who the bearded dude that keeps showing up could be. are there any running theories about him?

Say hello to female, armless Ozium.
that's creepy af

I fought for you, and now you are telling me it's all my fault. Jase, I'm already a demon.

Not all your fault. Just mostly. :p

Edit: It seems I'm on track to finish Unity's main campaign in time for Rogue. Just one-and-a-bit areas of the map to go before I set my sights on the remaining Cafe Theatre missions and finally Sequence 12.

I certainly don't envy any of the mods here. Not only has the size of GAF blown up in the last couple of years but having to deal with an even unrulier mob of a larger size from a voluntary position you are devoting from your own free time. I take my hat of to the guys and gals of the forum staff because I have enough issues trying to corral a bunch of adults acting like children at work let alone in somewhere where I primarily come to chill out.

In other news, Narcissu is surprisingly depressing.

still quite a lot mistakes to fix and of course I haven't played till the end.

btw, did I say I hate Mondays?

You need one of those self motivational posters on a wall near by to gee you up. Like that cat clinging to a branch that has the caption 'hang in there'. Of course now I'm stuck thinking of Garfield and he hates Mondays.

At least tomorrow is AssCreed Rogue, Hotline Miami 2, Cities Skylines, Shelter 2 day.

I think I need that

tomorrow Atelier Shallie releases, everything else drops to total irrelevance in comparison (><)

edited: not really steam related but I thought I'll ask, maybe someone knows
I need a converter for m4a and m4b files to mp3 that can split them too. It has to be free and easy to use. I had no luck finding one myself so far.
Also I really hate those custom file types. Why can't we like rational humans stick to some standardized formats, fgs.
I blame Monday.

edit2: have we talked about No Man's Sky showcase at GDC?

No Man's Sky has been a lot of talk, talk, talk its last couple of appearances. I'm going to avoid anything about the game until it's out as I think the folks at Hello Games might be biting off more than they can chew.

oh, it's totally in category "more than they can chew", but don't you want to believe? I want... maybe because it's more or less a game of my dreams, but still.

edited: I also think that idea behind randomising the models and worlds is a good one, meaning it saves a lot of work by creating hundreds of models and still having them repeat after a while, while with their approach it might remain fresh for very long time if not ever. Everything about this game sounds so fascinating, it will be heart wrenching if a game won't be fun to play, no? (><)

I haven't seen m4b in the wild, but isn't m4a just aac? That's as a standaridized format as they get. :)

my mp3 player begs to differ ;)

has anyone here experience in installing LAN wall sockets in your apartment?

I'm not quite sure how to go about it, I basically just want a wall socket in my bedroom, and a cable to the router in my living room.

Should I install an additional wall socket next to the router, and stretch a cable between that one and the socket in my bedroom? I probably don't want the end of the new bedroom wall socket to be a lose cable end (connected directly in the router)?

I think one of the major challenges HG face with No Man's Sky is how long it will take for repetition to start showing in the games world generation. Stump made a very good post in a thread about Procedurally Generated games and the challenges involved (can't find it right now as it was a while back). Even games like Civ or Worms with just basic elements like map generation, despite countless possible combinations after a while you start to see repetition in structures, assets and tile sets.

Elite is still the daddy for me, mainly because of the wow factor of 7 year old me thinking he was Han Solo smuggling throughout the galaxy but also because of how clever the algorithms and look up tables that Braben and co crafted in a flipping Acorn Electron game using a teeny space of memory. Durante linked a while back a TED talk by David Braben on how it all worked (that I also can't find but it was in the Steam thread before Crimbo).

Not to say I'm not looking forward to No Man's Sky but just that I don't want it to be all smoke and mirrors or all mouth and no trousers to coin a British phrase. So as I do with bigger, showier titles I'm interested in when I feel there's more talkie, talkie than showy, showy I usually stick my head in the sand until it's out so not to got carried away with 'The Hype™'.
