Yeah, it's pretty obvious that the DS combat system is largely inspired by MH. If that's what you like about DS, MH is definitely worth playing. The actual world and atmosphere are completely different though, MH actually has a rather comedic tone. It's also almost completely combat and crafting focused, there isn't much exploration.

I thought this, and is why I purchased whatever the last PSP MH game was and attempted to play it on my Vita.

The recommendation to buy a WiiU and/or 3DS is terrible as well.
I saw that thread about getting a WiiU for $60 by price matching at Walmart and I still can't be bothered. If I could have ordered it online? Sure, I'd have grabbed one just so I could play Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101, then I would promptly sell the system for profit. I learned from my mistake in buying a 3DS XL because I thought Luigi's Mansion 2, DKCR:3D, NSMB2, etc. would be worthwhile until the newest Zelda came out. I was terribly terribly wrong and my 3DS does nothing now that I played and finished A Link Between Worlds.
I've had KB Warriors of the North for ages, but like pretty much everything I have on Steam, I've never played it.
Would like some opinions on Silent Storm tho since it's on sale for the next 13 hours.

Amen to that. 3DS's library is so..dissapointing. And I say that as a guy that absolutely loved the original DS library.

Yes, PS+ with its "free" games.
EDIT: Not a fan of rentals but their PS1 and PS2 classics on the VITA, the ones that work, are a goldmine.

They are but Original Sin is the second game to occur in the timeline (The first is a self contained story that happens far in the past) so you will be fine.

I generally thought it was okay for the first few chapters, but it gets so heavy handed with the 'save environment' message later on, it just makes me want to litter more.

The voices themselves were... okayish? Not sounding Norwegian, granted, but not ear grating at least... But the actual acting reminded me of William Shatner , lots of unnecessary pauses. Emotional output for most of the actors was truly like straight out of a porn movie - "Oh no, I've dropped my panties on the floor, whatever will I do now", this sort of thing. Especially Fay, which is like, 50% of game's lines...
It is a great deal man. People use to pay just for online access on a console lol.
