STEAM | October 2015 - You had me at "game ... comes to Steam".

Well, shit.
October is way too packed with RPGs. Please spare me..

It tends to be an issue with some games. Especially anime stuff because that stuff is usually licensed in a weird way in the west. It's why we never got Jump Ultimate Stars. The
only good
best Smash game.

I see. Zestiria is indeed has anime-themed DLCs (Eva & Idolm@ster), so that's the reason. But then again, the restriction will become obselete once PC version goes live later.

You can't tell by looking screen and video?

I can presume its representative for everything that you hate with how this question worded.

well, it's hard to tell the actual story elements from that. I'm not against jrpg on principle but the last one that I liked was lost odyssey on 360 years ago.

I'm just normally put off by the over-exaggerated nature of anime inspired anything really.

the combat looks solid in zestria and apparently there is co-op. so I'm intrigued.

Zestiria is a JRPG flesh and bone. If you just hate JRPG in general, you'll definitely hate Zestiria. Cliche story, cliche characters, everything you can imagine from a JRPG, you'll find it on Zestiria. The only thing that makes it unique from other JRPGs is the combat. And skits which I personally love, but then again you hate anime inspired thing so you won't like them anyway.

I was wondering, do you people understand that "anime hate" is still xenophobia at its core, even if it's not named as such because it isn't truly harmful, but that's what it is.
Overly sexualization can be a legit complain if you are a prude, true and it can be pretty disgusting even if you are not, but aside from that... it's xenophobia. Not that xenophobia is rare but it's rather amazing that people seem to be proud of it or freely admit it on daily basis.
just saying

After the amazing capcom bundle I am actually tempted to subscribe for their monthly 12$ bundle. I know humble gonna give away some good stuff in it but I just can't do it. Not a gambling man and don't like buying blind like that. They really need to reconsider how they reveal this stuff. At least reveal half of the games in the bundle or somethin. Give people more incentive damn it.

I just have to post this then, there is no other way

I finally started Bloody Baron quest in W3. Let's see if it is worth for all praise it got :D

Bloody Baron gets praise? I guess it's long and all and has some nice points in it but it halso has things like the
worst escort mission in the game that combines escort mission with no checkpoints and most annoying enemies in the game in to a neat little package of shit

I used up most of my Steam wallet credit (thanks steam cards) to buy Zesty yesterday and feeling that I might need some wallet money there soon for the incoming sales. Was there any place that sold $50 steam wallet for $40?

Kindly post it, if you'll find such deal.

edited: I just remembered that with increased paypal fees, conversion to dollars fee and steam currency conversion back, it might be not even worth anymore, it was barely worth last year, and then euro was much stronger.

I use it all the time, but during sales wallet funds are much safer as steam servers struggle even now, just imagine what chaos it will be during sales.
I wish we had steam euro card discounts, which I don't remember ever happening.

Talking about W3, how long is it minus sidequests (if it can be played without doing those), anybody knows?
I have so many very long games to play, it's plain intimidating.

Don;t start W3 if you don;t want to play side quests. You will miss so much (and i barely started playing W3 and it is noticeable).

I didn't really play much side quests and I don't feel I missed all that much. Like I said I just didn't do all I did do some.

Then again I'm always gonna support my idea that a good game is a good game, even if you don't do everything.

A bit off-topic, since that's not Steam:

Whoever is interested in LoL Worlds and didn't yet watch the first quarterfinal, I am genuinely jealous for you, you are in for quite a treat. Be sure to grab a beer.

I genuinely do not understand the interest in watching 'eSports' (I guess that's what this would be considered?)

And I generally will watch anything that can be considered a sport (...except Golf).

This is pretty much outrage culture. I even said in my post that I don't hate jrpg on principle and the last one I played and enjoyed was not so long ago.

earlier in a steam thread I mentioned certain anime films that I liked. So yeah, no xenophobia here buddy. I just don't like the overly "cute" or overly sexualized or cliche anything in general. It's my personal taste and it's nothing against people who like it or are from a certain place.

I think people are allowed to have prefrences in their entertainment yeah?

One thing is not doing everything. Other is skipping the vast majority of the content :p

as far as I can remember you finished it really fast, in a week or so? How many hours?

Well, watching esports is like watching sports - you enjoy skillful play / good commentary, you watch the metagame, you root for "your" team or region, etc.

Seriously, I get as much fun from watching world championship in LoL as I do from watching ice hockey (that's my #1 real sport to watch, although many of my friends prefer football).

Welp.

Steam denied my refund request for The Crew because it exceeded the 2hr time limit (I had 3.7 hrs in the game).

I doubt they even read the extensive write up I did on the freezing issue and how it's extremely common.

So now I'm stuck with a game that almost unplayable and my (paypal) wallet is 9 bucks lighter.

Yay.

You only paid $9 for it? I thought it was a lot more than that...
Also, knowing Ubisoft, shame on you for not checking the forums before purchasing. ;)

Good luck with the refund though -- they're straight up asshats about it these days if you're outside the limits... probably because people straight up refunded everything possible. Hope you get it since it seems like a legitimate exception here. :)

Side thought: There seems to be some pot calling the kettle black up in here. :3

Your list is kinda random. But according to your previous post, I take it that you just generally hate 'overly cute' or 'moe' stuff, and cliche stuff. I believe you won't find overly cute anime stuff in Zestiria, but the game is actually has a cliche 'good vs evil' theme, according to a gaffer impressions on the OT.

That makes exactly zero sense.

Yeah, I don't get it either.

Cant you see the resemblance in the picture? Its quite obvious :p

Changing the subject, do we know a program/website that search for repeats in the inventory, and provides a list of people that trades for cards that you dont have in the same set?

Did someone hack the website from XSEED? Its opening one canadian erectile dysfunction drugstore.

Is there a better way to parse a list of cheevos needed from x game? After ctrl+f to find if I have it, doesn't find it but later turns out I do is getting old fast.

like what Jaw said

For you.
It's not though. The basic shapes and colors don't seem to line up at all. The original post that L.O.R.D got that from said:

It was clearly a joke and/or wishful thinking.

Yeah, this. I mean, it looks nothing alike. Not sure where people are getting anything from since that blurred image doesn't seem to line up with any part of the boxart...

Once upon a time, I tried to get the people behind x360a and ps3t (now xboxachievements and playstationtrophies) to form a brother/sister site for steam achievements... but alas, none of that happened.

So these days, if I'm going for achievements in a game, I use either of those sites to track the achievements as I get them so I have a list of what's left (and usually a guide for how to go about doing them if I'd like advice).
