Yeah, same here.

Sadly, with a 3 minute trailer I don't really expect to hear the information I actually want to know :p

And yet that 3 minute trailer will result in a 300+ page post on GAF :V

BTW doesn't said trailer go up in around 6 hours from now?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I haven't been following Amazon's games whatsoever, but I didn't figure all of their stuff would be F2P.

It's almost like they're using this as a newsletter sign-up.

"If you haven't signed up for the Alpha waitlist click Pre-order Now to do so. When you register, you will become a Breakaway Insider and receive news updates. The release date and pricing for Breakaway have not been set."

Well I don't really care that much after the Wii U I'm pretty disillusioned after all the current consoles being mostly disappointing this gen.

Does the Mexico Origin loophole still exist?

As far as I'm aware, EA hasn't cracked down on cross-region purchasing aside from pricing its games poorly in regions where they ought to be notably cheaper and restricting language options in Russia/Eastern Europe.

WHAT IF the NX will be integrated to Steam so RDR2 coming to NX means it will come to steam ?

I asked Neogaf the same thing some time ago and I got the feeling most Nintendo fans didn't like the idea. Thread

That would be a very good way to get me interested. Would be amusing if this trailer leads into a full reveal presentation next week - which is also apparently when Valve is changing up the Steam Store...

I'm not sure how well Steam would play with Nintendo's family-friendly content guidelines, and I'm not too keen on the thought of Steam making changes to accomodate Nintendo in that regard. That's kind of scary, actually. >.>

People are talking about sci-fi today.
Anyway I'm really tired about R* "console first" strategy. It's just annoying at this point.
I hope at least GTAV will get a good discount when RDR2 will release, it's always 40€.
It would be great having a remastered unexpected announcement at the end of RDR2 trailer, I own the game on PS3 and it's the only R* title I 100%, loved it so much, but it was plenty of technical limitations due to the hardware, on PC the game could look so much better even if it was astonishing when released.

You can't complain about that when you're rocking an MGS avie. ; )

That avatar at least EXIST. Not in the form I want, but in the form I deserve now (pachislot).

Its a shame Nintendo decided to go Mobile instead of PC. Their IPs would have made for some killer apps on PC. Games that would have easily rivaled Dota, League, Warcraft etc.

I bet if PC was a big as mobile in Japan they would have. Unfortunately it isn't.

It does, but not reliably. I tried the usual VPN method a few months ago and couldn't get it to work. Talked to a friend about it and he managed to get it to work immediately. But VPN shenanigans aside, EA has also increased prices on the Mexican store. So stuff like Titanfall 2 and Battlefield 1 cost $60 anyway. I believe the new target for somewhat cheaper pricing is Origin South Africa. I just get their games from grey market sites now.

Speaking of Greenlight, Voodoo Vince was finally greenlit yesterday (I say "finally" as I was expecting it to happen sooner).
Nice, 2017 is shaping up to be a really good year for 3D platformers.

But, I must say, it's kinda weird for this game to have to go through Greenlight. Like, it is also releasing on the XONE, so why did the Steam version had to go through it? I have no idea how these things work, so if you can give me some insight lol.

It's being self-published by Beep, not Microsoft, and will be Beep's first Steam release.

As a heads-up, Valve Greenlights by 'waves', which they hold every two weeks approximately. And they have a kind of date cut-off for what they check from recent postings. whee things they greenlight must of been posted at least 6-8 days prior.

The day Voodoo Vince got greenlit, a LOT of games got greenlit, including my own Hollow bliss. It was actually Valve passing over the 10,000 greenlit games total threshold, and they greenlit near 400 games at once, which might be more than they've ever done in a single greenlight session.

BUT, part of this might be that they really recently (like less than a week ago) introduced a new system for games on their service before they get sold I wasn't expecting, so with the extra security they may be willing to let more games go through.

I'm assuming they wanted to sell it themselves rather than go through a Steam publisher. Honestly as long as you have a decent game and don't mind shameless plugging some/have a recognized title, it's not hard to get through Greenlight at all. But if you lack a publisher, Greenlight it is.

To be noted that Steam will allow certain individual developers to skip Greenlight if they release enough positively received games that sell enough with no problems. There's no specific number, but at a certain point Valve may notice you and just give you permission to generate store pages. But you need to have at least a solid developer stigma going for you before that.

Yeah, I know, but I was thinking that someone at Valve would notice the game and hand pick it, such as what happened with Superhot, which I believe still holds the record of the quickest greenlit title at five days.

So I went back into Thea: The Awakening, and I guess at some point after the multiplayer addition they did a major polish pass. The UI and presentation in general is much better than it was previously, with clearer fonts, better graphics, and just a cleaner look overall. The events seem a bit better balanced too, providing some more variety in what happens. For such seemingly minor changes, it has improved the overall feel of the game dramatically.

So, in other words, Thea: The Awakening keeps winning.

Also in Thea news, MuHa Games have mentioned they're working on a patch for Thea (which I think just came out?) and then they'll be focusing wholly on their next title. I'm pretty excited for it, whatever it ends up being.

Ah, right. I'm in the middle of playing Quantum Break and didn't feel like digging for something rather tangential. ;)

http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2016-10-20-htc-vive-has-sold-more-than-140-000-units-report
A HTC Vive representative claims the company has sold in excess of 140,000 units.

The figure was spotted by Tech Crunch in a news brief from Chinese VR specialist site 87870. Back in August, HTC's China regional president for VR Alvin Grayling claimed the firm had sold 100,000 units, but chairman Cher Wang told 87870 this figure is now well over 140,000.

This is supported by reports that HTC's revenues rose by 40 per cent from August to September - growth that analysts attribute primarily to sales of the Vive.
The figure is also roughly in line with sales of Vive's most popular games. Raw Data, a sci-fi shooter exclusive to the HTC device, was revealed to be the first VR title to generate $1m in sales revenue over the course of one month. Steam Spy data indicated the game had around 33,000 owners at that time, while Survios claimed at least 20% of Vive owners had purchased Raw Data. Extrapolated, that's a total Vive userbase of 165,000.

Their greenlight stuff is inconsistent, in the end while they usually do two-week sweeps, they do greenlight some stuff early I guess if they feel like it. Maybe one of them was just browsing Greenlight and saw this game doing well there and wanted it on Steam so they greenlit it? Who knows.

Can certain keys for the same game have a different unlock time? I'm worried that the European keys for Civilization won't work with a VPN when it unlocks in Australia at 5pm UK time.

So I'm currently distracting myself a little by clicking through a couple of discovery queues on Steam. Has anyone of you ever found something of interest with this? I'm surprised by the number of VR only games this queue is throwing at me, but since I don't own a headset I don't have any use for them and sadly there is no way to only exclude games that require VR headsets (the VR tag is used for games that require a headset or have optional VR features). This isn't helpful at all.

In theory, yes, but I don't think any game has used key based unlocks. Just for press keys that give access before release. So you're 99.99% likely safe.

A lot of VR games that appear on Steam (almost daily) are shovelware games or "My first game project" made in Unity.

Just the other day I found out about Tyranny and Space Hulk Deathwing through through the Steam Queue. That might be because I don't use the social media or frequent review sites (lol) anymore.. If anything, the Storefront recommendations are a million times worse for me, full of weird hentai games I have absolutely no interest in :S

I've heard the recent Namco entries are good, though I haven't looked into them myself. I thought the same thing when I saw this on Twitter. Surprised Namco hasn't made a move on those considering their strategy.

I dont actually get Bandai-Namcos release strategy. They release Saint Seiya, based on an anime thats not really popular anime, but wont release stuff like Sword Art Online, thats been hugely popular in the mainstream on Steam...

Maybe it's got to do something with licencing, i.e. they would have to pay lot more money for eventual SAO PC release to licence owner (Kadokawa?) than they did for Saint Seiya game.

It's worth noting that Saint Seiya is hugely popular in Latin America, and I assume they would like to tap into the PC market since consoles are taxed so heavily there.

Yeah. But it didnt help:

http://steamspy.com/app/348710

Owners: 27,663 ± 4,247

And thats after some sales now and about 1 year since it has been released.
I am quite sure a SAO would have at least over 100.000 now or even more.
Look at Attack on Titan, 2 months out, no sale yet, 60$ price and around 41.000 owners.

The Steam Saint Seiya game even has Portuguese and Spanish dubs while missing an English one, what makes me think they assumed it would sell more in Latin America than in North America. Too bad it sold poorly in the end.
