How much better was the PC version of RE6 compared to the console version? Just atypical framerate, parity, and AA improvements with that L4Dead content right?

Goddamn how good would Outbreak 1 and 2 be now with network capability? Fuck. ONE CAN DREAM.

Just for reference, what would you consider a good ARPG? I'm asking as someone who's been enjoying KoA for what it is - combat's fun and varied, and the story's been decent so far (which is to say that it's interesting enough to hold my interest despite being pretty traditional fantasy, and it's giving me adequate motivation to roll up on monsters, jack them, take their stuff, and use it to forge sweet weapons and armor for myself >.>).

Eh. First 4 things off the top off my head, across generations, and depending on your definition of ARPG:
- Ultima 7
- Planescape Torment
- Neverwinter Nights
- Witcher 2

So which Campcom games should I be getting? Already played Remember Me.

I want RE6 at the very least but is it gonna reduce in price further, or should I just bite the zombie-infested-bullet?

Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition. Either standard or using the rebalance mod, both on Dark difficulty as the game is too easy otherwise.

No. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo where close.

That's REbirth, Biohazard 2, Biohazard 3: Last Escape, and Biohazard 4. Series has been on a decline past 4 it seems. Though 0 and Code Veronica were also mis-steps among the other spin-offs that aren't "Outbreak."

5's a decent game though. Better than the piece of shit that is Bio6.

So if I have to get one game. It should be Resident Evil 4? i played a bit of RE 5 on PS3. it wasnt half bad.

So Steam will be supporting more currencies next week - has anyone here got an email from Steam about their wallet balance being converted? I've already got confirmed reports of Malaysia and Japan going live on the 16th, anyone else?

In the Steam Developers group they listed the rest as "mid-September" which made some people think they would do the rest all at once.

Nothing here yet. Interestingly, I can still purchase stuff from the JP store despite its currency and that of my Steam Wallet now being at odds (JPY versus USD).

Code Veronica had Black Widows in it :D

I wouldn't say Code Veronica is bad but it's a pretty weak entry. I didn't care for it much, and
it brought Wesker back
to the point of Marty Stu'ing.

Complete is as close to $10 as you're probably going to get before the Winter sale. I'd say bite the bullet for $2 more or so since you get all the DLC. But the game is a mess and not really worth playing. :/ I say this as someone that bought it twice + DLC twice. PS3 and PC. WHY did I do that. Damn being a fan like CVXFreak...

If you haven't played Bio4 before, yes. It's a good game (though I don't consider it a good "Biohazard." Too action-y for my taste, but it's NO WHERE near as action-y as Bio5-6), and well worth playing if you understand it's using 2005 mechanics.

Otherwise if you've played that get it on Winter Sale later and pick up 5 for the eventual Steamworks (provided they don't fuck that up *knock on wood*) port for the co-op partners that will surely be there on Steamworks port launch.

tempted to jump in on Dark Void and/or Remember Me

somebody confirm I should get these or tell me why I shouldn't
Remember Me is one of those games where it's worth buying when it's on a great discount like today.

Dark Void is one of those games where you'll play it for a little bit and then just give up an hour or two later. But at $2, can't go wrong!

I'm pretty sure the only one on Steam that doesn't have spider-esque things is Revelations.

see like i was talking to this friend the other day, "pretty sure" is not good talk for me :p

i need 100% certainty!

RE1, 2, 5, 6. I don't remember if 3 or 4 or Code Veronica had them though. Never played Zero or Revalations so can't comment on that. It's funny since I am also terrified of spiders but RE is like one of my most favorite series. Lol
yeah actually resident evil 2 used to be my favorite game back when i was like 12 but now i can't play it anymore because of em

i gave it a shot like two years ago and nah, i've gotten bad

I dunno. I've heard enough good things about it to sway me towards buying, I just seem to remember a similar Capcom sale where their games were on sale and then after a day or two, the prices went down even further.

I got that OlliOlli game with some card money and a coupon that just popped in my inventory, so that's cool

OlliOlli is quite good. It just requires a bit of time since it can be kind of difficult at first. Just don't give in too quickly!

I ended up putting over 10 hours in, and I still throw it on when I don't know what to play. It's a great way to kill some time with some music in the background.

I really hope when the Steamworks version of 5 arrives, we'll have an option to buy those console exclusive DLC chapters...

Even better, owners of the GfWL version gets it for free. A la Batman titles.

Pretty sure as in I can immediately think of spider-esque enemies in the other 3 games, but can't think of any at all in Revelations. Dunno if that is enough for you or not. :p

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

Strange indeed.

Well I guess they're all supposedly coming soon so I might as well go ahead and start putting everything in place so that they won't screw up Enhanced Steam when they're finally unleashed.

MUnited83

For you.
Did putin not get the DMC complete version? it's the main thing keeping me from getting it, that they don't seem to have it.

Putin has complete version, but it has trading/gifting restriction. The base ROW version has no trading or gifting restriction, and no "Purchaserestricted" tag either, so russians can get it through the cart exploit.

I think someone said Singapore in here earlier this week.

Embrace Putin and get DMC for 7$?

I'd definitely like to. How do I go about doing that?

So you complain for a year about the price of a game being basically 2$ more than you are willing to pay? That seems a bit....uhh...

More like $5. I thought the game would be MSRP $30 by now, and it'd be $7.50 at 75% off with ~$2.50 DLC (Virgil's Downfall) to make it $10.

That's crazy. It sounds like they're worse than Activision when it comes to price degradation.

See? I'm not crazy, someone else agrees with me!

Didn't someone put up unofficial servers you can connect to via emulator?

From what I understood it was a very challenging affair to get happening. To the point where I looked at the steps and said "I...I don't think I can do this." and went without.

Emulated, Outbreak looks phenomenal, thanks to its 3d backgrounds as opposed to 2d. Really slick.

No. It's a historical footnote, but nothing more. Everything about the game is either outright bad design or has become completely outdated mechanically speaking. If you want an actually decent third person shooter with a horror aesthetic, play Dead Space 2. It even has an annoying blond female npc, but unlike RE4, the game has the decency to give players catharsis in form of her death sequence. Also, the QTE's are actually more intelligently placed and it isn't a constant escort mission.

Guys, extremely noob at TF2 keys trading, so please bear with me. Only have a couple of questions.

These are the keys that you need in order to trade, right? And, where people usually look for those russian traders?

Yes, although if you'd like to save roughly 50c per key you could buy them through Sub Zero instead. As for where to look, there's Steam Trades, TF2 Outpost, Dispenser.tf (which is largely automated), Reddit's Steam Game Swap sub-section and GAF's own BST thread.

Alway nice to see more quality Hidden Object games, will get this one for sure before the discount runs out :)

Probably you have already played them, anyway lately I have been playing Midnight Mysteries collection and I think they're quite good, aside from the stories based on far-fetched conspiracy theories; I would start playing the first one, as the other entries are more refined, with extras and achievements that add replay value.

If you want to be paranoid, wait until Sunday. If it doesn't go below -75% (which I doubt it will, 75% is generally the max most Steam sales do unless it's the Steam sale holiday periods) buy it then.

I own The Witcher 2, but I was never able to get more than a few hours into the first one because of that weird (well, IMO - tastes vary) timing-based combat system, and I get the impression I need to plow through it first if I want to enjoy the sequel. Eventually, though!

Not really sure how action-oriented the others you mentioned are, though now I'm kicking myself for not jumping on NWN when I saw it on sale on GOG last night. -_-

Those are good if your definition of ARPG is "An RPG," but when the "A" stands for "Action" it's generally stuff like Darksiders II, Kingdom Hearts, Enclave, etc. Diablo and the Souls games could also be grouped as "Action RPGs" but they're not really directly comparable to the others.

Speaking of quality *ahem* hidden object games...here are my impressions for Lost Civilization:...

I played through Lost Civilization some weeks ago, it really is somewhere in the middle. I played better but also worse Hidden Object games. But it was enough fun for a lazy Sunday afternoon :)
