Well, now that the last piece of Dark Souls 2 dlc is out, maybe the core engineering team will move to DkS steamworks conversion. It makes logical sense, these guys did a great job with Steamworks in DkS2. Summoning and online play was smooth as butter for me at least.

And while they are there mucking in the source, they should probably fix the port in some other ways too. Because they did a pretty great job with DkS2, and clearly have a handle on the PC platform.

Oh man I hope so. I would totally do a Souls series replay in honor of that.

The engines they're running on are less optimized and not made exactly for 2D or sprite games. The sprites themselves can also have more frames of animation or be at higher resolutions, which explains the large RAM usage.

Also this.
Jump from 256 colors to 16.7M colors -> 4x VRAM size increase
Jump from 256x224 (SNES) to 1080p (PC) -> 37x VRAM size increase

I loved The Longest Journey a lot, I didn't like Dreamfall. I mean, THAT ending...finally they'll give it a sequel.

I loved The Longest Journey as well. Such a memorable game.

That's pretty much why I need to play Dreamfall again. I don't remember it as much as The Longest Journey.

Best/cheapest place to get Shadows of Mordor now that they've region locked the hell out of it? Looking for premium plus pre-order if possible?

I hope they make the achievements unlock if you have GFWL ones.

With good reason. Dreamfall is largely a forgettable game. The Longest Journey had some tough puzzles (and some nonsensical ones, but at least they were puzzles.) Dreamfall went in entirely the opposite direction with hardly any puzzles to speak of and some ungodly combat and/or stealth action. But there sure were a lot of segments where your interactivity was limited to "walk here!"

I'm pretty sure Heavy Rain (if we consider it a game and an adventure one) had over 90 at some point. Metacritic in general is as useless as it is possible.

I should qualify by saying adventure games available on PC. Heavy Rain was a Sony exclusive. And while they can get non-adventure-fans to review adventure games, would they get, for example, Microsoft fans to review Sony exclusives?

Grim Fandango will. I find it hard to believe it will get anything lower than 90.

I think it would be fair to say that if Grim Fandango doesn't, nothing will. And that said, I bet it won't. Just, you know, figuratively bet - I wouldn't take a ban bet on it.

I think that's largely true with adventure game reviews in general. It gets to the point where metacritic scores for adventure games are largely unhelpful. I decided to go through my library and pick out a handful of adventure games that I felt were truly good, if not excellent.

The Samaritan Paradox: 75
The Night of the Rabbit: 75
Blackwell Deception (the fourth one in the series): 73
Cognition: didn't even get a ranking

The highest adventure game rated in my library: Machinarium with an 85. To be fair, that's also pretty good.

How do you push an adventure game beyond 85? Nostalgia (Monkey Island Special Edition got an 86) or strip game elements out of it completely (Gone Home got an 86.)
I'd be very interested to see if an adventure game ever cracked 90.

Is this to imply that we should only get adventure game fans to review adventure games? Well, no. But nor should the opposite occur.

At this point I'd argue metacritic scores for all games are largely unhelpful. Any specialised genre like Adventure games, RPGs, Racing games or such are difficult to review for journalists as they constantly move from game to game.

Jesus, I put on hat (Bill's Hat) on the community market place, and suddenly I have a bunch of friend invites from randoms for the past two days even despite the item selling within the first minute and having my inventory hidden and not trading outside of friends ever...

Excuse me, they are very necessary. If I had control of the series, every trial, back stabbing, subterfuge and unexpected death would be accomplished through wanton orgies.

Unpacking Mordor takes forever.

Should probably take a look in the performance thread to see if anyone has a similar setup to mine to get some idea of what to expect.

I hope they make the achievements unlock if you have GFWL ones.
I'd just replay the whole thing anyway bunch of time so it wouldn't matter to me. Dark Souls isn't that tough to 100%.
Demon's was a pain in the butt with its material drops.

Never forget.

Yep.
TF2 items really are a scammer's paradise, it seems.

i hope not, just so I have an excuse to replay it.
I'm on a 50/60 hours playthrough and I would be somewhat bothered if I got the ending achievement before getting the achievement for ringing the bells :p

Is this the premium edition? I can't find the season pass/dlc on the website...but then again I don't think the chrome translator is that good.

No, just regular. Though buying a key for the base game there and then the season pass somewhere else is probaby your best bet.

Ugh.

$50 Shadow of Mordor is out for < 12h and the cards went from selling for above $0.50 to below $0.15.
I know it's cheap in Russia, but there can't be that many people who already farmed their Mordor cards and flooded the market.

Contrastingly, FFIV just got cards and while it's more niche than Mordor with a lower cost of entry, cards are still selling for $0.35+.

Impatient morons.

Shadow of Mordor is a general big release cards always go down even if its a full price title.

FF4 sold less and is also "anime" which keeps it higher. For example Pyrite Heart last I checked cards are still above a dollar. A 5 dollar game with 1 dollar cards.

Every single popular top seller gets the cards price dropping like hell like 1 hour after release. It's normal, it's a shitload of supply that appears quickly.

I got 106 friends with the game on their wishlist, and 91 that already own it. Game is selling loads.
