I haven't played the full game but the demo is HUGE. I played the demo for almost 3 hours and still didn't reach the end.

I found it a bit dull, if you're looking for another loot game on Steam you should give Titan Quest Gold a look, and wait to see if it gets cheaper. Van Helsing has been getting praise in this thread recently as well but I haven't played it myself to make the recommendation.

How does it compare to diablo 3? I just picked it up because it was cheap and I was looking for a diablo alternative (got tired of diablo after reaching hell or inferno, can't remember anymore lol)

The defining feature of Titan Quest is its class system. Instead of having unique characters in the form of classes, you start as the same character type with the choice of male and female. From there you choose a mastery, which is effectively your class. Once you hit level 8, you can choose to continue your single mastery or opt for dual-masteries, which makes it unlike most loot ARPGs I've played and offers up a lot of options from there on.

I'd say it's very much worth playing even after going through Diablo 3.
