Love RTS games (particularly Westwood games). Love them for their single player. Love playing skirmish against AI. Hate playing them online (cause I kinda suck). Hate playing against other people in general at RTS games.

Given all of that, should I pull the trigger on Grey Goo?

Nope, it's pretty bland. Admittedly, I only played the first 2 missions but it was enough for me to uninstall the game. As someone who wants a new base building RTS to play a la Red Alert, Grey Goo isnt it.

Hey guys I'm having problems with steam while the sale is currently populating the servers, and nerds worldwide are hitting F5 as fast as they can

Do you think something's wrong with steam or is is just me

Remember Me is a mediocre game in terms of gameplay, but there's a lot to like about it. If you dig its vibe, definitely go for it. (And also consider DONTNOD's other game, Life is Strange--an absolute gem.)

Not sure on the others.

One of the main reasons I want to buy it. Loved Life is Strange so much that I thought that it can't be surpassed and simply stopped playing anything after I finished that for months :D

I was actually in the process of writing up my list to put into the first post of the hidden gems thread :S

Holy crap:
84 items from your Steam wishlist are on sale!
I guess I will spend some money on this sale. (almost 70% of my wishlist is on sale)

Planetarian ~the reverie of a little planet~ is 70% off:

Is this a good way to get started in the Virtual Novel genre? I know Root Double is probably better, but it's also more expensive.

I'm F5-ing as fast as I can. It's not helping...
Fallout New Vegas is 75% off. Best to get the DLC, I presume?

The DLCs range from mediocre to great, and some mods rely on them (all of them), so there's no reason not to. FNV is Bethesda's formula at its best. Dozens of hours of fun to be had, and lots of replayability.

Right on! It's the most impactful game I've ever played. One of the greats, for sure.

My games were removed from my basket. Now I can't remember which games I had added.
Valve is trying to save your wallet.

These deals are too hot for Steam.

I think there already a HD version, check for it to see if it's discounted too.

Wait, so is Hollow Knight actually good? I hear it's beautiful but that the backtracking and overall difficulty get annoying and dampen the fun.

It's one of the best metroid-likes I've ever played, and it'll probably be my GOTY when it's all said and done. I loved the exploration, and thought that the difficulty was just fine.

Combat is very solid actually and so is the story.

Nah, the combat is pretty mediocre and repetitive, and the story has some interesting themes and ideas but ultimately doesn't do that much with them.

Still worth playing for the visuals and world-building, at least. It's adequate enough to enjoy on that level.

I love it. The difficulty and going back to new areas once you have new abilities are part of what make it fun.

Is it that bad?

On a scale of Mordor to 10 how bad is it?
I think it's a 3/10 game. I'm lazy af, but go to any LTTP Quantum Break and you'll see me ragging on the game. It's a game that hates its own medium, and what gameplay that is there is rote TPS shooting with a stupidly vague, bad story and nothing redeeming at all towards the end.

Beth Wilder is cool though. Otherwise go buy a good TPS game, like Binary Domain or something.

I really enjoyed the game despite the backtracking. The difficulty definitely ramps up quite steeply if you're going for some late game objectives (optional ones especially), but I found it fun and challenging rather than a problem.

The difficulty isn't for everyone sadly, the game swayed between being enjoyable (the exploration elements of it) and frustrating (Can these bosses stand still for 3 freakin' seconds so I can whack them....)
