Grabbed The Witcher 2. Was hoping it would pop up at some point since I'm playing through the first at the moment. Gives me the extra incentive to push on playing it.

Defense Grid updated for me. Wonder if that is one of tomorrow's challenges. Definitely buy that if it goes up as a daily if you like tower defense games at all. Really great game.

So, when do you reckon Portal 2 will go on sale? Been waiting for it forever.
Give it a couple of days. I'm betting it will be in the first half of the sale week.
It's currently $33.49, but I'm sure it will get a daily deal.

Set the game to easy under options, play 1-1 and while it may take a few tries, you'll notice a very simple pattern and it won't take you long to get it.
God damn it, I keep missing one of the first ones in the rows at the end.

I feel sorry for those of you who looked up the solutions for the Toki Tori sunbeam puzzles. I just got that achievement and loved every minute of it. Got really stumped on a couple of them.
Yup! I really enjoyed 'em.

In that case I guess Magicka will be for tomorrow as well.

It's already on sale with 33% off. It's best to wait and see if it gets any cheaper on a daily sale though.

Sitting here updating and installing and updating I finally realise how much I had installed on my old PC. So much crap.

The hats that were given during the treasure hunt can be sold now to hat collectors for up to $300
Wtf, I have the hat you get right before the grand treasure hat, how much can I get for that and I didn't even know you could trade it.

I need some money badly

Dammit, the Lead and Gold Achievement is impossible. Especially for horrible Snipers like me.
Gonna get a friend to farm that with me.

If you don't have all the older Valve stuff, I'd buy the Valve Complete pack. It is like buying Portal 2 and getting the entire Valve catalog with it for free.

1. Is Blood Bowl any good?
2. Are the Drakensang games likely to go any cheaper than -33% off, $20 for probably close to 100 hrs of solid RPG goodness works for me even if it doesn't.
3. Is the DLC for River of Time Phileasson's Secret any good?

Wait until the sales are over before selling it, so you don't pump the money straight back into Steam :p

The actual program crashes or the page just doesn't load? I've been having loading time issues, but never had the program actually crash.
Had the program itself stop responding on me at least three times since the sale started.

Even though its on sale rite now, I'm still waiting for it to hit it as a Daily Deal.
I actually own the retail copy since day one, still sealed up but not opening it due to its a rarity and pretty expensive if you could find it elsewhere besides the steam version of course. ^_^)

Huh... wow. Steam credited me back the money from Oblivion GotY Edition so I can buy the Deluxe edition. Though, they did say it was a one-time customer service thing, so there's that.

Rule of thumb -> If it's not -75% or more, it can / will get cheaper during a daily deal.

Same here. I have the hat that jiggles the gold coins out. I'd trade that hat in a second to some moron.

Thanks to anyone who recommended me Bit Trip Runner. It's really awesome and addicting game. Every time I fail at a stage I keep telling me "I try it again, just once" but I still keep playing forever :lol

Great addicting fun. But now I see rainbows everywhere.

And I feel dizzy.

But there are rainbows. Beatiful rainbows.

Yeah that last one had me stumped for a bit but it was worth it.

I have that hat as well and am wondering the same thing. I had no idea these hats were worth that much. It makes me wonder how much Bill's Hat will eventually be worth.

I suspect it's just related to the servers being pounded right now and I'm sure when you contact support the problem will already have resolved itself by the time they get back to you.

2 hours later, still not in my library, hopefully by the end of the day. Not in the Steam beta either, as someone suggested that could be the issue.

I looked up 2 of the 10 but one I actually had down but couldn't get the last move and the other one was so easy I missed it because I was looking for something tougher.

It was pretty fun though. Stuff like this is the best thing about these contests.

1. It's a little clunky but fun as hell if you start a league with friends.
2. No idea.
3. No, it's not very good. And that comes from somebody who worked on the Drakensang games.

When I was new to steam I had some issue similar to yours. Game never did end up appearing in my library. I had to jump through a bunch of support hoops, delete Steam settings off my HD and do a bunch of other stuff, but eventually Support worked and I got my shit.

What's not in your library? A game you purchased?

This is why I always use Steam Wallet for these big sales (despite some gaffers dismissing it). Servers are always wonky and this prevents any purchase from getting eaten in the void. There's always stories of Paypal taking money and not reporting it to Valve at each sale.

Okay, every time I try to play Bit.Trip.Beat it either crashes Steam on me or it idles forever at that "first time installing crap" window.

Probably should google it. There's some kind of MS crap that it uses. It repaired it when I loaded up Runner. Probably broken and isn't being checked for some reason.

How was Medal Of Honor? I can't stand what has become of the Call Of Duty series, and loved Battlefield bad company 2.

In general I think that if Valve could figure out a way to do the "Will this play on my computer? If so, how well? Convey it to me very simply" user interaction, that would be amazing and one of the last frontiers to really making Steam a console-like experience in terms of accessibility.

Imagine going to a game's page and getting:
RED CARD - This game does not play on your current computer due to VIDEO MEMORY
YELLOW CARD - Your saved computer "home gaming rig" will be able to play this game on medium settings. Upgrading your VIDEO CARD would result in higher performance.
NOTE - Some users report difficulty with running the game under Windows 7
UPDATE - We've detected your ATI Radeon drivers are out of date. Updating drivers are associated with a 10-12 FPS improvement for this game for many users.

with simply, easily visually accessible icons, and automatic detection of hardware, drivers, and bottlenecks for the particular game.

Even if it was an opt-in feature which required companies to submit their specs or some diagnostic information, or even if it relied on user feedback aggregation, I think it would be amazing.

For 100% Valve has been working on this for a couple of years already. It's a no brainer. The problem is they take so damn long to release significant Steam updates.

ya that's kinda shit.

i'd buy it for sure if it was a better deal.

updated my post, maybe it's different in the US, but this deal makes no sense in the EU

if you want to buy just one game out of the collection that is, not that I'm complaining ... since I get 3 other games for free so to speak

I have the same hat, and I'd trade it too in a heartbeat.

I recently traded a my OSX earbuds in TF2 for a game to some fellow here on GAF. I never realized that people traded good money for some of these items.

I think Bill's Hat is worth ~$20. I don't think the 1st and 2nd tier Treasure Hats are worth anything though, there were a lot of them, but only ~300 HOUWARs.
