Does it also apply to Publisher's Packs? or are the prices of games included in those packs are as good as they'll get?THE RULES OF STEAM SALES
If it is not a daily deal, do not buy. Wait until the last day for all sale-long purchases, because they often will go on daily deal.

Good, but why has it changed? A pricing error or are they doing hourly deals or something?(._.) said:erm no
Snuggler said:Hmmm, since Activision's entire catalog is on Sale, Geometry Wars is only $2.67. I've only played the sequel so I have no reason to pass.
Bam.
PedroLumpy said:That L&G achievement is harsh. I've put 140 hours into that game and probably never done it.
Unless there's a daily deal on every game in the pack, generally the pack will be the best value. If it's close b/w only games you want individually and the pack, then wait. It's only a weekJinfash said:Regarding this advice:

Yea, the steam store always has errors when a big sale is going up. Sometimes during just normal days also which is rare. the new SF was up for discount for like 20 minutes and it isn't out until Tuesday. some got it for $26.StuBurns said:Good, but why has it changed? The treasure hunt hat required waaay more effort than the shades, but they probably will be worth something afterwards.SalsaShark said:
here's hoping we are looking at another Treasure Hunt situation and i can sell this later on for like 200 bucks

I don't think the sunglasses are going to be worth much. It will be like the bounty hat.SalsaShark said:

Pretty much. It's "Retro Evolved", basically meaning it's similar to the single retro mode in Geometry Wars 2 on XBLA... ie. 1/6th (or 8th) of the total game.Stumpokapow said:i asked about this a month or two ago in the steam thread and everyone basically said that it was a poop version of the game.

No, it only applies to individual games. You are not going to get the publisher packs cheaper.Jinfash said:Regarding this advice:

It is possible for packs to appear in the daily deals. I would be kinda surprised if no Indie packs show up in daily deals.99hertz said:Are there going to be more packs or it's just going to be more daily deals from now on?
This. Really get the Square Enix one. Tomb Raider + Hitman + Just Cause. Hell, Just Cause 2 is worth the 75$ alone.speculawyer said:And if you don't have many of the games, those publisher packs are a GREAT deal. I highly recommend the Eidos, THQ, Rockstar, Telltale, and Valve ones.
It applies to everything. Wait.Jinfash said:Regarding this advice:

Paradox Fantasy Pack - $8
http://store.steampowered.com/sub/8675/?snr=1_4_4__106_2
Majesty, Majesty 2, Elven Legacy, plus all DLC and expansions for these games.
I was originally just going to by Majesty 2 for $6.69 (http://store.steampowered.com/app/25980/), but that's when I saw the pack. $1.20 more for two more full games + a bunch of expansions... can't say no to that!
Edit: This pack is 84% off, meaning it's CHEAPER to buy this than the Elvan Legacy bundle alone... I wonder if the pricing is an error?

Convey it to me very simply" user interaction, that would be amazing and one of the last frontiers to really making Steam a console-like experience in terms of accessibility.
Imagine going to a game's page and getting:
RED CARD - This game does not play on your current computer due to VIDEO MEMORY
YELLOW CARD - Your saved computer "home gaming rig" will be able to play this game on medium settings. Upgrading your VIDEO CARD would result in higher performance.
NOTE - Some users report difficulty with running the game under Windows 7
UPDATE - We've detected your ATI Radeon drivers are out of date. Updating drivers are associated with a 10-12 FPS improvement for this game for many users.
with simply, easily visually accessible icons, and automatic detection of hardware, drivers, and bottlenecks for the particular game.
Even if it was an opt-in feature which required companies to submit their specs or some diagnostic information, or even if it relied on user feedback aggregation, I think it would be amazing.

The odd thing is Steam does have a built in check for system requirements, but the user interface doesn't show it at all.Red Blaster said:They should just rip-off canyourunit.com with its simple pass/fail meter between minimum and recommended specs.

Mine is giving me 1 ticket towards the grand prize giveaway and the one from the group is only the only ticket I've got. So probably what Orellio said.Sgt.Pepper said:Seems like the ticket from joining the Summer Group Camp doesn't count to grand prize giveaway. I checked my profile, and it is missing one ticket.
Well I'm just speculating, but I imagine given it had a certain discount prepared it's going to be that price some point during the sale, they just put the wrong price up first.Fjolle said:Oh man. I was gonna wait till the 11th to buy it
