• Added support for PlayStation 5 Pro.
• Introduced High Frame Rate (HFR) Mode to minimise input lag and enhance frame rate performance.
-HFR Mode requirements:
• Display must support 120 Hz output.
• Enable 120 Hz Output in PlayStation 5 settings (Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output).-Available graphics modes:
• Prioritise Performance: Focuses on frame rate.
• Balanced: Balances resolution and frame rate.
• Prioritise Resolution: Focuses on resolution and quality.
• Pro: Enhanced Balanced Mode optimised for PlayStation 5 Pro, utilising PSSR for superior quality.
• Pro Max: Enhanced Prioritise Resolution Mode for PlayStation 5 Pro, providing a higher frame rate.Minor bug fixes.

.....................

"With PS5 Pro, players will be able to enjoy Stellar Blade in 4K resolution at 50fps or more, with smoother gameplay, and you'll notice an improvement in grain and detail in the game in PSSR upscale mode.

Plus, the HFR (high framerate) option is supported, allowing you to enjoy a fluid gaming experience at 80 fps (120hz display support required)."

Pro patches going live now would sure let someone like DF do a lot of testing before launch

Could have added Ray tracing, but it is still fine for me. Perfect timing along with the upcoming photo mode and DLC Stellar blade X Nier Automata.

It's obviously going to be Balanced PSSR for me, but it's interesting the native 3840x2160 Resolution Mode went from 30fps to +50fps.

With so many different modes, at what point is it basically like PC gaming where they just give you all the settings to choose from?
Well, it's essential 3 options for base PS5 and 2 options for Pro. There shouldn't be any benefits to run the first three modes on Pro.

The naming and descriptions are confusing though.

PS5 Pro max is 60fps? PS5 Pro regular setting uses PSSR and had lower fps? Are both 60fps but different resolutions?

PRO max is the 'Prioritize resolution and quality', but with fps boost.

Can't say for sure, but looks like one is 100% sure fps 60, the other maybe try to reach 60 fps. The enhanted balanced mode looks like will be the 60 fps because as reads, is the one that will be using PSSR.

The pro might be a buy for me if I had a better tv. I love mine but it's barebones cheese pizza. Money would likely be better spent there if I was looking to spend it.

Not that I'm complaining but they could have added ray tracing, maybe for the sequel or future update, but I realize that fast pace action game and combat, like Stellar game does not necessarily need ray tracing. I'm happy with 4k/60 fps.

I expected the new balanced mode to be the old performance mode. But it says you'll get better frame rate on quality mode?
Honestly think the names and modes are a bit confusing.
Maybe im overthinking it 🤔

Calling the Pro modes "Pro" and "Pro Max" huh

Someone get Apple on the line, it's lawsuit time LMAO

120 fps support also being on the amateur PS5 is cool tho, it makes the standard Performance mode of PS5 more interesting than before when it was locked to 60 fps

"50fps or more"? Wtf.

yeah, it's probably just the base quality mode unlocked for VRR users.

50fps seems in line with the GPU upgrade. the 30fps mode probably had some headroom and would run at 35~40fps if unlocked on base PS5.
so this mode is probably 50~60fps.

that would be a roughly 45% improvement, give or take.

Still more optimized than pc gaming as they are developing these modes specifically for pro not a million pc configurations to just brute force

I installed the patch and opened the game and 120 fps support is locked to Pro for some reason even though the Amateur has 120 fps support. This is kinda gay, there is no reason not to allow 120 fps mode on the Amateur for players to try

I can't enable 120hz unless I buy a Pro? Naughty. Waiting for a double dip on PC anyway. Hurry it up.

Unless they create a specific 40 fps mode 120hz output is useless on the base model

You have two modes targeting 30 fps and 60fps

No? Have you played Stellar Blade?

On the Amateur, you have Prioritize Performance (1080p, locked 60 fps), Balanced (dynamic 1080p-1440p, target 60 fps), and Prioritize Resolution (4K, locked 30 fps)

The Balanced is usually between 50-60 fps and when forcing VRR in System Settings stays inside the PS5's VRR window

The Performance is always locked at 60 fps but there's no reason to assume it couldn't be higher if you unlocked it, maybe it hits 80 fps or something if it was allowed

But it's not allowed because 120 fps is only allowed on the Pro

I would welcome this. Give me an "Advanced" menu and let me tune the settings myself. Keep the simple Perf and Quality, but let those who want to tune to a desired FPS do so.
